[Bug 974151] [NEW] Clickpad right click HP tm 2
Public bug reported: The (hardware-) right click isn't working instead it performs a left click. I can't turn my touchpad off by doubletapping the LED. I'm using a HP-Touchsmart 2. Against other bug-reports, i'm able to drag & drop. With Ubuntu 11.10 i could tab 3 fingers (which did a middle-click), this is also disabled. ~$ sudo apt-cache policy xserver-xorg-input-synaptics xserver-xorg-input-synaptics: Installed: 1.5.99.902-0ubuntu3 Candidate: 1.5.99.902-0ubuntu3 Version table: *** 1.5.99.902-0ubuntu3 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ~$ dmesg | grep -i synaptics [ 13.492989] psmouse serio4: synaptics: Touchpad model: 1, fw: 7.4, id: 0x1e0b1, caps: 0xd04773/0xe4/0x5a0400 [ 13.536590] input: SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad as /devices/platform/i8042/serio4/input/input14 ~$ xinput list-props "SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad" Device 'SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad': Device Enabled (126): 1 Coordinate Transformation Matrix (128): 1.00, 0.00, 0.00, 0.00, 1.00, 0.00, 0.00, 0.00, 1.00 Device Accel Profile (250): 1 Device Accel Constant Deceleration (251): 2.50 Device Accel Adaptive Deceleration (252): 1.00 Device Accel Velocity Scaling (253):12.50 Synaptics Edges (277): 1751, 5187, 1626, 4306 Synaptics Finger (278): 25, 30, 256 Synaptics Tap Time (279): 180 Synaptics Tap Move (280): 222 Synaptics Tap Durations (281): 180, 180, 100 Synaptics ClickPad (282): 1 Synaptics Tap FastTap (283):0 Synaptics Middle Button Timeout (284): 0 Synaptics Two-Finger Pressure (285):282 Synaptics Two-Finger Width (286): 7 Synaptics Scrolling Distance (287): 101, 101 Synaptics Edge Scrolling (288): 0, 0, 0 Synaptics Two-Finger Scrolling (289): 1, 1 Synaptics Move Speed (290): 1.00, 1.75, 0.039487, 40.00 Synaptics Edge Motion Pressure (291): 30, 160 Synaptics Edge Motion Speed (292): 1, 405 Synaptics Edge Motion Always (293): 0 Synaptics Off (294):2 Synaptics Locked Drags (295): 0 Synaptics Locked Drags Timeout (296): 5000 Synaptics Tap Action (297): 2, 3, 0, 0, 1, 3, 0 Synaptics Click Action (298): 1, 3, 0 Synaptics Circular Scrolling (299): 0 Synaptics Circular Scrolling Distance (300):0.10 Synaptics Circular Scrolling Trigger (301): 0 Synaptics Circular Pad (302): 0 Synaptics Palm Detection (303): 0 Synaptics Palm Dimensions (304):10, 200 Synaptics Coasting Speed (305): 20.00, 50.00 Synaptics Pressure Motion (306):... of unknown type CARDINAL Synaptics Pressure Motion Factor (307): 1.00, 1.00 Synaptics Resolution Detect (308): 1 Synaptics Grab Event Device (309): 1 Synaptics Gestures (310): 1 Synaptics Capabilities (311): 1, 0, 0, 1, 1, 1, 1 Synaptics Pad Resolution (312): 61, 45 Synaptics Area (313): 0, 0, 0, 0 Synaptics Soft Button Areas (314): 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 Synaptics Noise Cancellation (315): 8, 8 Device Product ID (246):2, 7 Device Node (247): "/dev/input/event14" ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics 1.5.99.902-0ubuntu3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-22.35-generic 3.2.14 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-22-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: wl ApportVersion: 2.0-0ubuntu4 Architecture: amd64 Date: Thu Apr 5 12:41:14 2012 DistUpgraded: 2012-03-02 09:05:17,265 DEBUG enabling apt cron job DistroCodename: precise DistroVariant: ubuntu EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot" - Beta amd64 (20110921.2) MachineType: Hewlett-Packard HP TouchSmart tm2 Notebook PC ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-22-generic root=UUID=2e9be59f-1f91-4313-bfac-3babbffc5c00 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 SourcePackage: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to precise on 2012-03-02 (34 days ago) dmi.bios.date: 07/30/2010 dmi.bios.vendor: Insyde dmi.bios.version: F.12 dmi.board.asset.tag: Base Board Asset Tag dmi.board.name: 1486 dmi.board.vendor: Hewlett-Packard dmi.board.version: 83.1A dmi.chassis.asset.tag: CNU0250216 dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: Hewlett-Packard dmi.chassis.version: Chassis Version dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnInsyde:bvrF.12:bd07/30/2010:svnHewlett-Packard:pnHPTouchSmarttm2NotebookPC:pvr048920252A2000122:rvnHewlett-Packard:rn1486:rvr83.1A:cvnHewlett-Packard:ct10:cvrChassisVersion: dmi.product.name: HP TouchSmart tm2 Notebook PC dmi.product.version: 048920252A2000122 dmi.sys.vendor: Hewlett-Packard version.compi

[Bug 974393] [NEW] Unity behind windows (Z-Index/Z-Order problem)
Public bug reported: After Login, there sometimes is a problem with Unity (= Dash + Launcher + HUD), where Unity appears to have the false Z-Order/Z-Index. In this cases i can't realy access Unity, with maximized programs. Sometimes normal (=not maximized) windows appear in front of the Dash or Launcher (see the screenshot). This typically is just after the Login. After i somehow fixed it (clicking Workspace-Switcher or pinning a window to the Front), the problem stays fixed for this (X-Server-) session. [Bug 993108] Re: no Apply-Button in gnome-control-center (display) at Resolution 640x480
Maybe I just got you wrong but my problem was: Step 1: I start a game (Braid as an example), the game is configured to use 640x480px - fullscreen-resolution. Step 2: I exit the game. Step 3: I now have a Unity- or GnomeShell-Desktop with an resolution of 640x480 px. Step 4: I want to change to my native resolution (1024x768px or whatever it was before). At Step 4 a "normal" user fails because he can't access the "Apply"-Button of the Settings-Window. (See posting #1 for Details) My interpretation of your answer: "There is a User who would like to configure a resolution lower than 640x480px (for example 320x240px). This dosn't make sense." --> I agree with you in this point. "I can't find the number now" --> I've searched launchpad too (before i opened this bugreport). This is a bug in Unity, not Wine. I added wine recently ( #30 ) The guys developing wine are able to produce a workaround. The main-problem however still remains. This can only be fixed in Unity/Compiz whatever. But since Canonical isn't about to fix theire bugs i opened the bugreport at winehq and had to link it here. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/702452 Title: [launcher] Wine applications are wrongly matched To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bamf/+bug/702452/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

But i didn't get the (multitouch)-scrolling to work. ** Attachment added: "xmodmap.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/822144/+attachment/2476474/+files/xmodmap.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/822144 Title: Touchpad with integrated click buttons: right button missing, both mouse buttons act as left To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/822144/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1060469] [NEW] indicator-messages does not show any chat-application
Public bug reported: Short story: How to get the bug: I don't know, at my System this indicator was broken since upgrading from Ubuntu 12.04. What happens: indicator-messages dosn't show chat-related stuff (see below for details) What is expected: Entrys for "Pidgin", "Empathy", "Skype"(via skype-wrapper), Status-Options("Online", "Away", "Hidden",...) Long story: On my System "indicator-messages" dosn't show any chat-application (even if they're running). It is like this since i upgraded from Ubuntu 12.04. I installed Pidgin, Empathy and Skype (+skype-wrapper), they're not shown. Nor dos indicator-messages show me options to switch my status (e.g. "Hidden", "Away", "Available") I attached a screenshot. In this screenshot i opened indicator-message and had pidgin running. There is no entry for pidgin nor an entry to set my status. The "Enevelope-Menu" in Unity only shows me Gwibber and Thunderbird. Those two entries are working well (they're showing unread mail-counts and such) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10 Package: indicator-messages 12.10.3-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.5.0-16.25~lp1033783v1-generic 3.5.4 Uname: Linux 3.5.0-16-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.6.1-0ubuntu1 Architecture: amd64 Date: Tue Oct 2 23:09:17 2012 EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot" - Beta amd64 (20110921.2) SourcePackage: indicator-messages UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to quantal on 2012-09-14 (18 days ago) ** Affects: indicator-messages (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug quantal running-unity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1060469 Title: indicator-messages does not show any chat-application To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-messages/+bug/1060469/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1056105] Linux Kernel 3.6.0-030600rc7 crash at boot - brcms_c_wait_for_tx_completion
2. Linux Kernel keeps crashing for me at boot. This happens after switching WiFi status by hardware-switching it off and on (and off, ...) at my HP-tm2 This Bug is reproduce-able and i can "fix" it by completely powering off my notebook and wait a few seconds (no power cable, no battery) I also reported this bug at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1056105 3. Does it happens always upon > boot or only when booting with RF switched off? What kind of RF switch > do you have? Is it mechanical or a soft key? Steps to reproduce this bug at my machine: 1. Switching off and on WLan by Hardware-Button (It is a WiFi "Button", My Network-Manager says "Hardware switched off by Hardware-Switch" [so i think its a soft-key?!]) 2. RFkilling WLan This bug doesn't seem to disappear if I "un-RFKill" my WLan [and reboot]. [Bug 993108] [NEW] no Apply-Button in gnome-control-center (display) at Resolution 640x480
Public bug reported: If your Monitor falls back to a resolution of 640x480 (Due to a crash of a fullscreen-game), you can't use the Display of "gnome-control-center" because the window is taller than 480px. You can't resize the window either. so you have no chance to click the "Apply" button with your mouse. To see it your self, you have to put your Resolution down to 640x480 and try to reset it to a higher Resolution. Work around: press [Alt] + [A] (English) or [Alt] + [W] (German) to apply your settings without clicking the Button. Work around2: hold [Alt] and drag the Window at it's center. You can drag it high enough to actually click "Apply". Plus I can't switch to any tty. I've tried this instructions to find an error: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspend but it dosn't seem to bring relevant informations (however, I'll add the dmesg.txt to this bugreport) PS: to switch between graphiccards, I use "vga_switcheroo" and i have "vanilla"-ubuntu, no third party software. ** Description changed: Symptom: Linux isn't displaying changes after switching to tty1 and back to unity Steps to reproduce: 1. Starting up to Unity 2. Switch to tty1 (Strg + Alt + F1) 3. Switching back to Unity or: - Resuming the system from suspend leads to the same isssue. + Resuming the system from suspend leads to the same isssue. This method isn't as reliable as the method stated above What happens: The screen freezes. Magic Keys [Alt + Print + S/U/B] are working thou (so linux-kernel is responding?!) I can't switch to tty1 either. The system becomes responding again after ~2min. Switching VTs is possible afterwards but leads to the same bug again. Since i can't switch to tty either (which isn't controlled by XOrg), i added "Linux" to the Bug-Targets. ** Bug watch added: freedesktop.org Bugzilla #42162 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42162 ** Also affects: xserver-xorg-driver-ati via https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42162 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Bug watch added: Linux Kernel Bug Tracker #37762 http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37762 ** Also affects: linux via http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37762 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Description changed: I have a HP Touchsmart 2 (tm2). This Notebook has 2 Graphiccars: Intel (DIS) and ATI (IGD): # lspci | grep VGA 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02) 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Manhattan [Mobility Radeon HD 5400 Series] If i use the Intel-Graphiccard, everything works well, i can suspend and resume as often as i'd like. + Edit: As soon as I switched (switch to ATI and back to Intel, the below problem happens on Intel-GPU too). If i use the ATI-Graphiccard i can suspend (wich takes a longer time than with the Intel one) however I can't resume. I get a blank/black screen and can't change brightness. [Bug 365702] [NEW] Installer fails to format partition
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubiquity I booted from the newly released Kubuntu 9.04 Desktop amd64 iso and chose the install option. When asked about partitions, I chose the manual / advanced option. I have a scsi drive and I already had 2 ntfs partitions (sda1 and sda5) + 20 gb free space at the end. I made two more partitions in the free space, sda6 as ext4 and sda7 as swap (2gb) and I chose to format the ext4 partition. After hitting next, the installer worked a bit then told me it can't format the ext4 partition and jumped back to the time zone selection page. Tried again (partitions sda6 & sda7 were already there this time) and got the same error. [Bug 546607] Re: KPackageKit gives error after recent upgrade
The bug is in /usr/share/PackageKit/helpers/apt/aptBackend.py, line 1498. In case of an error, format_string is used to display a message but error.message is not a string but an exceptions.SystemError object. Attached patch should fix this (packagekit-backend-apt.patch). There is also a related bug in /usr/share/pyshared/packagekit/backend.py, in function format_string. When called with a non-unicode parameter, it should convert it to unicode but doesn't because of a typo. I'll attach another patch for this (python-packagekit.patch). -- KPackageKit gives error after recent upgrade https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/546607 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 546607] Re: KPackageKit gives error after recent upgrade
I'm not very sure, but I think the update process is not really affected by the bug. The package index might be refreshed before the bug is triggered, so in this case you could update the packages (maybe restart KPackageKit and see if the updates are there). If this doesn't work, open a terminal and type: sudo apt-get update This will update the package index manually and after that you should be able to install the updates from KPackageKit, or via command line: sudo apt-get upgrade Also, you might wanna look at the output of command `sudo apt-get update' and see which sources give errors (for example 404 errors), and disable those sources in KPackageKit -> Settings -> Edit Software Sources. Disabling the source that was giving errors will make KPackageKit work again, even without the bug fix. -- KPackageKit gives error after recent upgrade https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/546607 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Create or edit a note 3. Press the power button on the device 4. Press the power button again Expected behavior: The on-screen keyboard shouldn't be visible when unlocking the device. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Tags: ubuntu-touch-preview -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1131722 Title: Touch keyboard won't hide when unlocking device To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1131722/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1142044] [NEW] Unable to log in because of "missing" unity-greeter
Public bug reported: I'm not quite sure if the title is right because unity-greeter is there but the interface doesn't appear sometimes. Basically, I press the power button on my Samsung Series 9 notebook, get a short purple flash and then a black screen with a cursor blinking in the top left part of the screen and a moveable mouse cursor. Roughly I'd say that I need 5 to 6 attempts to boot. I've seen some very weird log messages in /var/log/lightdm/lightdm.log unfortunately I managed to boot without any issues right now. Next time it does that I'll save the logs and upload them to this bug report. Set my account to auto-login but that didn't change anything.
