[Bug 223855] [NEW] add support for SNI

2008-04-28 Thread Mitja Kleider
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: curl

Hello,
this is not a bug, but wishlist/discussion (I did not find any option for that
and hope somebody can set this to wishlist).

curl is unable to do https on a server having multiple domains and multiple SSL
certificates using SNI.
Browsers support it, nautilus works fine, curl is displaying error 51: "The
peer's SSL certificate or SSH MD5 fingerprint was not ok ".

A patch for SNI can be found here:
http://curl.haxx.se/mail/lib-2008-02/0050.html

I am no developer and maybe this is not the right place for this feature
request, but maybe it is just a compiler option which needs to be set
and support for SNI is needed because the only other option for multi-
domain server cases would be plain http.

Thank you!

** Affects: curl (Ubuntu)

 Status: New

[Bug 480791] [NEW] empathy does not display certificate error, interface for importing certificates missing

2009-11-11 Thread Mitja Kleider
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: empathy

Ubuntu 9.10

$ dpkg -s empathy
Version: 2.28.1.1-0ubuntu1

Try to connect empathy to a server via SSL/TLS which provides an untrusted
certificate.
Empathy will report "Network error" without further information.

Empathy does not provide any way to import the certificate. The only
option available in account settings is to ignore any certificate error
(allowing man-in-the-middle attacks).

[Bug 1231463] Re: Many undefined name errors in python-xpyb package

2014-03-11 Thread Mitja Kleider
Just wanted to share what I found out so far:

The package xcb-proto contains XML protocol definitions like damage.xml
(upstream doc: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xcb/proto/tree/doc/xml-
xcb.txt ).

Python bindings are generated from these definitions using custom
generator modules. The modules are part of another Debian package
(python-xcbgen), also built from the source package xcb-proto.

xcbgen is imported by py_client.py in the xpyb source package, which
just calls the parsing module for each XML protocol definition.

I think the issue is somewhere in python-xcbgen, but could not look into
it further yet.
