[Bug 1950460] [NEW] grub doesn't load videoinfo with secure boot enabled
Public bug reported: When I enter grub, whole interface is really unresponsive and rendering is visibly slow. This is not new issue, so I was invastigating why is this happening. When I enetered grub console after reboot and entered 'videoinfo' command, grub answered 'Secure boot forbids loading module from hd(...)...videoinfo.mod'. When I disable secure boot, everything works as expected. While I am using dual boot with windows 11, I need to keep secure boot enabled, so the only solution from my point of view is to add videoinfo module into 'grub-efi-amd64-signed' package. [Bug 1969353] Re: Apt/Grub issue with 22.04 Upgrade (Missing libcrypto.so.1.1)
Hi all, found out, that grub customizer provides backup of all the files before its install in /etc/grub.d/backup. One workaround is simply just follow RESTORE_INSTRUCTIONS placed there. Obviously there is a problem, that all changes made to grub after customizer install will be lost, but after I realized, what a mess this package made, I refuse to use it again. Not sure, if this is possible after running release upgrade. I landed here thanks to release notes, so I am doing this as a precaution. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1969353 Title: Apt/Grub issue with 22.04 Upgrade (Missing libcrypto.so.1.1) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub-customizer/+bug/1969353/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1969353] Re: Apt/Grub issue with 22.04 Upgrade (Missing libcrypto.so.1.1)
I saw your script but I wanted just to try it my way. When I found out that grub is broken and couldn't find some fast and straightforward solution, I just made a clean install. All custom config backed up and few apps I use was installed in no time. Anyway thank you for help.
