Tested with Dell XPS 9560 and Ubuntu 18.04. After installing the proposed packages and rebooting, everything booted correctly, although the nvidia driver was still loaded (I had my system set to use intel) and power use was quite high (~23W). *But* after following the test case steps and switching to nvidia, reboot and then back to intel (after logout+login), everything seems good - the nvidia module isn't loaded, powertop reports ~12W and as a bonus reboot/shutdown is much faster (used to stall waiting for something GPUish). [Bug 1213999] [NEW] Provide easy way for OEMs to override default settings

Part of the requirements is to allow the OEMs to be able to override
some settings that are stored in dconf (for example which lens pages in
the dash are visible by default). Usually we'd just add a new .override
file into /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas, but this will not be possible for
the OEMs as any changes they make will not change the base Ubuntu image.
A solution that we agreed upon is to extend our XDG_DATA_DIRS (we'll
prepend a new "/custom" path to the dirs where the OEM's overlay will be
mounted), but since dconf doesn't support this type of layering (real
schema in /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas and possible defaults overrides in
/custom/...), we decided to add a symlink in /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas
/xyz-oem-gschema.override which will point to the override file in the
OEM overlay ("/custom/..." - TBD).
Once we have the override file in place, we need to recompile the
schemas (by invoking glib-compile-schemas), to make sure the new
defaults are accounted for, although this will have to be done in a boot
script (ideally with a stamp file so we don't unnecessarily recompile it
on each boot).
With this solution we allow the operators to change default settings,
while still being able to upgrade the base image and change the shipped
schemas (but keeping the OEM overrides in place). Plus if the operator
ships applications that have their own schemas, this is still possible
by compiling a separate set of schemas in the overlay. And on top of
everything we don't need to change our apps/daemons to check special OEM
schemas that might and might not be installed.

The unity-scope-tool is a development tool, and should be run by the SDK itself when developing a scope. SDK will know how to launch it so it works correctly. We were debugging this with Natalia, it seems to be an issue with Zeitgeist unable to start, because it was being used on Natty and then directly with Precise, so the schema was never updated from ver 3 (which would happen if Oneiric was installed), and latest Zeitgeist can't upgrade schema ver 3 or older. Public bug reported: If the search bar's text is not an empty string, the arrow keys and the whole interaction with the search bar is in a weird state.
