I had a similar problem as well. 1) Go to System > Administration > Software Sources. 2) Scroll to the "Third-Party Software" tab. 3) Uncheck the intrepid related repositories. [Bug 343413] [NEW] Flash Plugin Crash due to Pulse-RT Permissions
Public bug reported: I've never reported a bug before, so this is my first time. After testing Jaunty, I noticed Firefox would constantly crash when I tried loading a flash plugin with sound. I checked my /var/log/messages and found the following errors: Mar 15 15:24:56 matrix pulseaudio[7692]: main.c: Called SUID root and real-time and/or high-priority scheduling was requested in the configuration. However, we lack the necessary privileges: Mar 15 15:24:56 matrix pulseaudio[7692]: main.c: We are not in group 'pulse-rt', PolicyKit refuse to grant us the requested privileges and we have no increase RLIMIT_NICE/RLIMIT_RTPRIO resource limits. Mar 15 15:24:56 matrix pulseaudio[7692]: main.c: For enabling real-time/high-priority scheduling please acquire the appropriate PolicyKit privileges, or become a member of 'pulse-rt', or increase the RLIMIT_NICE/RLIMIT_RTPRIO resource limits for this user. Mar 15 15:46:32 matrix -- MARK -- Mar 15 16:06:32 matrix -- MARK -- I decided to go ahead and add my user to the group pulse-rt, and everything seems pretty fine; I haven't had a single crash ever since.
