The education icon is also missing. It just shows the red X. I tried all
installed icon themes: Human, Tango, GNOME, GNOME-Brave, Rodent. There
is always the no icon placeholder shown.

[Bug 380346] Re: BKchem using python2.6 crashed with SIGSEGV in Tcl_CreateHashEntry()

2009-05-25 Thread Matthias Mailänder
We tracked down the error. If there is an older version of Tcl (8.4) in
the system which conflicts with the new 8.5 version then BKchem crashes.
So the package tk8.4 could be added to the bkchem debian package as a
conflict.

2007-10-04 Thread Matthias Mailänder
The 0.6.4svn2422 worked well. NM-applet automatically restarted and put
out an connection-error message instead of crashing and disappearing. I
think it has something to do with my university having set a group
password which is saved encrypted in the .pcf file which is not imported
by the VPNC plugin. In the configuration file the entry is

GroupPwd=

!enc_GroupPwd=A REALLY LONG HEXADECIMAL STRING

Should we set a collective bounty here? So many affected people,
everyone might give a few bucks to someone who finally improves the
upstream drivers to make them work out-of-box and easily includable in
modern Linux distributions like Ubuntu. Once it's done, the developer
gets paid. Saw it at https://www.bountysource.com/ recently.

If I understood it right, all you need is myspell-tr (for
OpenOffice.org, Firefox, Thunderbird) and aspell-tr (for GNOME / GTK
apps like Abiword, Gaim/Pidgin, ...) aspell-tr seems to be already
available in upstream: ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/aspell/dict/0index.html and
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Dictionaries looks like the
place to search for MySpell / Hunspell (MySpell successor) dictionaries.

2007-04-23 Thread Matthias Mailänder
I played around with the http://madwifi.org/wiki/UserDocs/EnableLEDs

flicker when there is traffic. It's a little annoying :) There is
already a patch for this: http://madwifi.org/ticket/1018 - "allow LED
always on (no blinking)" - so that it can be set up to behave more like
the windows driver.

[Bug 105102] Re: Cannot shutdown computer with Kubuntu Feisty

2007-04-18 Thread Matthias Mailänder
I can confirm this on Kubuntu 7.04. My guess is that there might be some
processes blocking the shutdown: If I have a fresh login, KDE shutdown
mostly works. If I enter "sudo shutdown now" into the terminal the PC
shuts down instantly. Maybe the KDE shutdown buttons need to be a little
more aggressive. I am going to play around a little bit with KShutDown.

[Bug 233963] Re: Please merge gnome-chemistry-utils 0.10.8-1 (universe) from Debian testing (main)

2009-11-28 Thread Matthias Mailänder
My upload has been archived at REVU because it is a merge and not a new
package. It does not build, I do not understand the error message, so I
have to give up. This task needs someone who is far more experienced in
packaging.

2009-11-28 Thread Matthias Mailänder
The package did not even build at Debian testing at that time, my
version of linthian too old and the package full of flaws. The directory
at Debian Mentors is now empty, maybe because I uploaded it >1 year ago.

[Bug 233963] Re: Please merge gnome-chemistry-utils 0.10.8-1 (universe) from Debian testing (main)

2009-11-28 Thread Matthias Mailänder
I posted the error message at REVU which is currently offline (yeah..
great). I had the problem that pbuilder-satisfydepends-dummy told me
that some packages are virtual, but they were not virtual packages,
which was irritating for a packaging newbie and frustrated me 2 weeks
ago. Today I found out via Google that I had to enable universe in
pBuilder: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PbuilderHowto#Universe%20support

Now it builds for the first time on my laptop *hooray* but the build
fails again :( It says:

dh_install -a --sourcedir=/tmp/buildd/gnome-chemistry-utils-0.10.8/debian/tmp
--list-missing -X.la
cp: cannot stat
`/tmp/buildd/gnome-chemistry-utils-0.10.8/debian/tmp/usr/lib/gchemutils/chem-viewer':
 No such file or directory
dh_install: cp returned exit code 1
make: *** [binary-arch] Error 1
dpkg-buildpackage: error: fakeroot debian/rules binary gave error exit status 2
E: Failed autobuilding of package
I: unmounting dev/pts filesystem
I: unmounting proc filesystem
I: cleaning the build env
I: removing directory /var/cache/pbuilder/build//6437 and its subdirectories

I also found out that 0.10.9 is now available in Debian testing, which
includes my updated German translations. Do I have to get through this
annoying Ubuntu/Debian merge operation again? Anyway, I need to take a
break now.

[Bug 233963] Re: Please merge gnome-chemistry-utils 0.10.9-1 (universe) from Debian testing (main)

2009-11-29 Thread Matthias Mailänder
I only touched the files that are listed in https://merges.ubuntu.com/g
/gnome-chemistry-utils/REPORT under "Conflicts" and applied the Debian
changes to the files. debian/rules must have been automatically
modified, I removed addition on my local copy.

I simply kicked out all the old patches from 00list as I thought they
are for a whole different release series, but I did not delete the files
because I thought they might be vital for something I don't understand
and I did not read "debian/patches: added fix_bodr8_crash.dpatch to fix
crash if BODS >= 8 is used. Can be dropped next sync." I will remove it
then.

Translations are only maintained upstream and I did not apply anything.
There should be no diff at all between them. I checked the it.po against
SVN and there is a small addition, de.po is also slightly different
(mostly formatting). Maybe these are old 0.8-series strings that the
ubuntu-merge-o-matic pulled back in.

I don't know what to do now? Start from scratch with a new package from
Debian or clean up the awful merge?
