[Bug 564270] [NEW] Toshiba NB305 Wireless Crashes when lossing signal to WPA2 PSK network

2010-04-15 Thread Matthew Roy
Public bug reported:

Using NB305 generates crash reports from kernel loops whenever a WPA2
PSK wireless network signal becomes weak. This may be related to
wireless adapter power-saving features (eg turning off the wireless
adapter)

Bug #982693 is marked as a duplicate of this bug. If that's the case
this is happening in the current Precise kernel: 3.2.0-24-generic with
the vanilla desktop install.

[Bug 914982] Re: rhythmbox crashed with SIGSEGV in create_store_key()

2012-04-11 Thread Matthew Roy
This is still happening on the current version with both the precise
kernel and the mainline kernel build 3.3.1. I'm guessing this may be
related to unexpected IO lag, since it seems to happen most often when
I'm under heavy IO load, but it also happens occasionally when there
isn't that much IO load.

[Bug 416368] Re: Horizontal lines during playback

2011-09-22 Thread Matthew Roy
I hate to dig up an old report, but I am also encountering a nearly
identical issue using Natty and Gstreamer running the video with "gst-
launch playbin uri=file:///path/to/file" produces the same or a similar
rendering error in which the frame is torn.

This happens more often (or is more noticeable) on lower resolution
video.

I am getting this issue both with the nVidia proprietary drivers on a
GTX460 and open sources drivers on an Intel Chipset (Core i3 era) when
the graphics card is removed.

[Bug 809221] Re: unable to mount ceph root at boot due to stripping of trailing slashes

Applying this patch and rebuilding mountall fixed the problem for me
also. What needs to be done to get this patch merged and a fixed package
released for precise?

[Bug 397636] Re: libgnutls13 rejects ldap server's self-signed certificate

2011-09-01 Thread Matthew Roy
You can also work around this by copying over the CA certificate you're
using (even if self-signed) and pointing to it with a line like
"TLS_CACERT /etc/ssl/certs/cacert.pem" into /etc/ldap/ldap.conf for
ldap-utils

Since 9.04(?) I've been using libnss-ldapd and libpam-ldapd, which also need
the cacert pointed out in /etc/nslcd.conf:
# SSL options
ssl on
tls_reqcert demand
tls_cacertfile /etc/ssl/certs/cacert.pem
