[Bug 957876] [NEW] System crashes after opening Empathy chat window in bottom notification bar

2012-03-17 Thread Malte Hinrichs
Public bug reported:

The bug appears occasionally when opening an Empathy chat within the bottom
notification bar in Gnome Shell (where you can type directly in the
notification window, not a real Empathy window).
When the bug occurs, everything freezes the moment I click on the symbol in the
bottom notification bar and after a few seconds the whole screen shows nothing
but random noise. The computer then has to be forced to restart via power
button. Strg+Alt+F1 or similar does not have any effect.

I am running Ubuntu 11.10 on a Dell Studio notebook with AMD graphics
chip, however without AMD drivers. I think the bug only occured while
using an external display via HDMI.

[Bug 1046547] [NEW] Facebook, Picasa, Youtube and Flickr Plugins do not appear in Publish dialog

2012-09-05 Thread Malte Hinrichs
Public bug reported:

Though the plugins are activated, the Publish dialog in Shotwell does
not display dropdown entries for Facebook, Picasa, Youtube or Flicker.
Piwigo and Yandex.Fotki Plugins are displayed. If neither Yandex or
Piwigo plugins are activated, an error message, informing that
publishing is not possible due to no publishing plugin being activated,
appears when clicking on the Publish option in the menu.

The problem might be related to the webapps preview PPA
(http://ppa.launchpad.net/webapps/preview/ubuntu/), the affected
services seem to be the ones also being provided as Unity webapps.

Ubuntu 12.04.1
Shotwell version:
0.12.3+webaccounts1-0precise1

[Bug 480732] Re: Rhythmbox creates several error messages while writeing trough Creative ZEN

2012-07-07 Thread Malte Hinrichs
I've just seen this bug on my system, using Ubuntu 12.04 (64 Bit) and a Galaxy
Nexus which I am syncing with a few Rhythmbox playlists. Yesterday, transfer
did not work at all with storage information producing errors and showing the
storage size as 9.2 EB, but after restarting of Ubuntu & phone, music sync with
Ubuntu works well except from constant uttering of error messages during
transfer. Messages with following message keep popping up every few seconds:
"LIBMTP_Send_Representative_Sample(): could not get object info."

Re: [Bug 957876] Re: System crashes after opening Empathy chat window in bottom notification bar

2012-03-19 Thread Malte Hinrichs
The bug appeared a few times while I was working on a paper inside a
VirtualBox VM, not sure whether that could play a role.
I could not reproduce it yet, it just occured on seemingly random
occasions.
Also, I did not experience another crash since I filed the bug. I will
continue working the way I was and try to keep track of this.
