[Bug 772577] Re: Kernel in Natty disconnects Huawei E160G, ModemManager can't use it

2012-04-21 Thread Kimmo Satta
I had this same problem with a Huawei E160E. I kept getting the error..
-108, input/output errors etc.

Looks like it works better now. I updated the firmware from my
operator's site (Elisa Finland) (http://www.elisa.fi/asiakaspalvelu/499
/lataa-tiedostoja/).

It worked ok in 10.x but it seems that in 11.x and up it very rarely
worked. Kept on freezing for 10s etc.

Now it works like before, meaning that after booting I have to
disconnect the modem a few times, throw it against the wall, curse out
loud.. and then it suddenly connects :)

[Bug 1432265] Re: does not ask for multiple LUKS passphrases without plymouth

2015-05-07 Thread Kimmo Satta
I can confirm this also.

Steps to reproduce:
- install *buntu 15.04
- sudo systemctl set-default multi-user.target
- add some partition _other than root_ to /etc/crypttab

-> systemd doesn't ask for passphrase, stops at "starting cryptography
for foo.."

booting with upstart and "text" kernel option (same as systemd and
multi-user.target), it asks for passphrase and works correctly.

In my tests I had root without encryption and another partition in
crypttab, then it doesn't ask for passphrase. In another test I had root
encrypted and that in crypttab, then it asks for the passphrase.

[Bug 821170] Re: xfce4-power-manager fails to start (receives X window system error "BadName")

2011-11-13 Thread Kimmo Satta
Would this be a trusted place to get it precompiled for oneiric:

https://launchpad.net/~bkandiyal/+archive/bhaskar-test/+build/2870381

?

[Bug 821170] Re: xfce4-power-manager fails to start (receives X window system error "BadName")

2011-11-13 Thread Kimmo Satta
k. I'll try that

I just compiled xfce4-power-manager with changes from
https://launchpadlibrarian.net/83453821/xfce4-power-manager_1.0.10-4ubuntu1%7Eppa1.debian.tar.gz.
It just contained a patch for backlight stuff. I still get the error:
"The error was 'BadName (named color or font does not exist)'."

Maybe the fix is a patch to 1.0.10-4ubuntu1, and 1.0.10-4ubuntu1 is not
the patch itself which fixes the badname issue?

[Bug 774978] Re: xserver crashes in RecordAReply when XRecord is enabled in syndaemon

2011-08-25 Thread Kimmo Satta
I'm still getting this is in Xubuntu 11.04 with an older IBM NetVista
comp.

I have:
Package: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics
Version: 1.3.99+git20110116.0e27ce3a-0ubuntu12.1

Shouldn't that include this fix? Maybe I'm having another problem then
if this fix is already installed on my system.
