[Bug 293930] Re: Text drag and drop causes system freeze

2008-11-20 Thread Kieran Hogg
Confirming this, I hit this all the time. From experience, it doesn't
freeze, just make it *incredibly* slow, After leaving it for 10-20 mins
I saw the text move every 5 minutes or so but then got bored. I'm not
sure it's a firefox bug but I can't reproduce this is any other
application under kde.

I can't speak for anyone else but I don't see the behaviour either under
gnome, or under kde without firefox running. I did see someone mention
that it may be related to the gtk-qt-curve (or whatever it's called)
theme used under kde but that doesn't seem too likely.

[Bug 288653] Re: Refreshing package lists in KDE should prefer Adept over Synaptic

2008-10-25 Thread Kieran Hogg
Apologies for the vagueness, I've not seen it before:
I got a lightbulb in the tray like the 'firefox has been updated' notice. When
I clicked it it said that it had been unable to refresh the package lists due
to a connection error and I would need to do it manually. The button said
'perform this action now'. After I clicked that I saw gksu and synaptic
updating it.

Distro is Intrepid.

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

After updating yesterday I am seeing a few strange behaviours on my 2nd
gen macbook, I'm not sure which is the cause and which is the symptom.

The one that this bug report is for is the screen not updating until TTY
switch. Every few minutes of so, the screen will "freeze" (although apps
appear to still receive input) this can be fixed by switching TTY from
and back to 7 and all is normal again.
-
- I have also logged a bug about glxinfo segfaulting, I'm not sure if this
- is relevant or not.

[Bug 343714] Re: Kubuntu Jaunty KDE 4.2 very high memory usage

2009-04-05 Thread Kieran Hogg
I have to say I'm seeing a similar issue. I'm not sure if it's just
under Kubuntu as I don't have ubuntu-desktop installed, but I've noticed
a definite performance hit. I frequently find firefox taking up large
amounts of memory, and less frequently, CPU.

[Bug 263764] [NEW] Battery plasmoid percentage wrong after emptying

2008-09-01 Thread Kieran Hogg
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace

More than a few times I've let my battery run flat in KDE4. When this
happens, my laptop suspends (thankfully!). After I plug in and resume,
the battery plasmoid will show as charging but the percentage charge
won't update. Removing the plasmoid and adding it again seems to fix it.

[Bug 267416] [NEW] [Intrepid] Screen doesn't update until TTY switch (945GM)

2008-09-07 Thread Kieran Hogg
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

After updating yesterday I am seeing a few strange behaviours on my 2nd
gen macbook, I'm not sure which is the cause and which is the symptom.

The one that this bug report is for is the screen not updating until TTY
switch. Every few minutes of so, the screen will "freeze" (although apps
appear to still receive input) this can be fixed by switching TTY from
and back to 7 and all is normal again.

I have also logged a bug about glxinfo segfaulting, I'm not sure if this
is relevant or not.
