2013-11-08 Thread Kaiser Alexander
Hi Christopher M. Penalver,

For me, at the moment the current kernel "3.2.0-55-generic-pae" is
stable enough. If you found out, what was the kernel fault, please try
to invest in the next kernel versions, if it is possible.

Thank you first for your help!

[Bug 1431012] [NEW] network-manager, "edit connections" + "connect" + "disconnect" functions are disabled

2015-03-11 Thread Kaiser Alexander
Public bug reported:

Some important functions in network-manager are grayed out:
* "edit connections"
* "connect"
* "disconnect"

To resolve the problem:
* When i start "nm-connection-editor" in terminal as normal user it's possible
to edit all interfaces without any problems.
* When i start "users-admin" in terminal as normal user, press button "advanced
settings" and enter my password, then the functions "edit connections" +
"connect" + "disconnect" are possible to operate and not grayed any more untile
a reboot!

I already set my user to user-group "netdev", but nothing happened.
I tryed to "dpkg-reconfigure network-manager" and "/etc/init.d/network-manager
restart", but nothing happened.

[Bug 1227687] Re: Kernel 3.2.0-53-generic-pae freeze very often after update from 3.2.0-52-generic-pae

2013-10-27 Thread Kaiser Alexander
In the addition file "BugReportAdd_20131027.tar.gz" includes 5 different
computer with kernel "3.2.0-55-generic-pae" + "3.2.0-54-generic".
The script "ak_stabi_test.sh" was running an all computers during creating the
log-files.

With the new kernel they don't have problems with freezeing like in
kernel "3.2.0-53-generic-pae" or "3.2.0-53-generic".

If you would like more informations, please let me know...

sorry for the attachment. I'am not exactly sure what you mean with

computer model (laptop) "MEDION UIM2080". If you want to have the other
computer models where i had the same problem please let me know...

Re: [Bug 1227687] Re: [MEDION UIM2080] Kernel 3.2.0-53-generic-pae freeze very often after update from 3.2.0-52-generic-pae

2013-11-02 Thread Kaiser Alexander
Hi Christopher M. Penalver,
this Medion laptop is a little bit strange, because the standard MSN is
not given like on my other Medion products on any lable of backside?!
This was very bad for me to, because i would like to make a bios update
in the past, but there was no new firmware on the Medion homepage... and
the laptop was not possible to find on the Medion Homepage...

The only info on the backside of the laptop is:
"Model No.: UIM2080 Notebook PC"
"Input: 19V= 3.42A(max)"
"For use with AC adapter FSP065-AAC only"
"S/N: SZSL52II573200736"
"MEDION AG"

Best regards
Alexander Kaiser

[Bug 1227687] [NEW] Kernel 3.2.0-53-generic-pae freeze very often after update from 3.2.0-52-generic-pae

2013-09-19 Thread Kaiser Alexander
Public bug reported:

* Kernel 3.2.0-53-generic-pae (inkl non pae) freeze very often after update
from 3.2.0-52-generic-pae on all computers (for exapmle Dell D600, Dell D420,
Medion UIM2080, Siemens Towers...)
* When system freeze no fault messages happends; harddisk led is going of; cpu
fan is blowing like bevor crashing;
* For simulation see attachment file with skript and infos.
* The freezing happends mostly after "long" time cpu's = 100% and very much
harddisk access to the same time.
  Only CPU OR harddisk access is not so criticaly for freezing.
* In kernel 3.2.0-52-generic-pae or 3.2.0-52-generic or earlyer i hade no
problems with freezing like this.

If you would like more informations or i should test a new version, please let
me know and kontakt me...
Best regards...
