[Bug 839965] [NEW] Screen brightness levels won't scale correctly
Public bug reported: When I press the key to lower the screen brightness it immediately turns the screen brightness to minimum but when I hit the key to increase the screen brightness it turn my screen to 1/10 of it's maximum brightness (my /sys/class/backlight offers 10 levels of brightness), thought if I keep the increase brightness key pressed for a couple of seconds it turns the screen brightness to maximum (it won't be able to scale with the other screen brightness levels, it goes straight to maximum). Hey Robie, Unfortunately, this server was installed for a conference that has already ended, and infrastructure for the site has already torn it down. If it helps, I installed 14.04.2 just a couple days before 14.04.3 was released. No ppas, stock from the repo. No modifications on the sources list. And yes, it does seem like it happens with the DNS redirection. I never tried using the squid client, since it was, as I mentioned, to use at a conference with large attendance. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1483093 Title: .archive.ubuntu.com is non inclusive To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/squid-deb-proxy/+bug/1483093/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1483093] [NEW] .archive.ubuntu.com is non inclusive
Public bug reported: On the mirror-dstdomain.acl list, it has the following entries: .archive.ubuntu.com ports.ubuntu.com security.ubuntu.com ddebs.ubuntu.com mirrors.ubuntu.com .archive.canonical.com .extras.ubuntu.com changelogs.ubuntu.com However, the .archive.ubuntu.com entry, for example, is non inclusive. This means that when there is a DNS forward made to this proxy, if pointed as archive.ubuntu.com it will cause an error. The entry should be either inclusive, or have the dot removed from the front on the default auto-generated list. ** Affects: squid-deb-proxy (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1483093 Title: .archive.ubuntu.com is non inclusive To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/squid-deb-proxy/+bug/1483093/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1483093] Re: .archive.ubuntu.com is non inclusive
Hello, Robie! I downloaded and installed Ubuntu Server from the releases.ubuntu.com cd repository. Once the server was installed (14.04.2), I installed and configured a mirror with squid-deb-proxy. I set it up so it would work with a DNS redirect. So, I had custom DNSs, and they pointed archive.ubuntu.com to my mirror (172.16.224.222). However, when users started using apt-get, it started giving 403 errors. The errors went away when we removed the . at the start from .archive.ubuntu.com, which changed from ".archive.ubuntu.com" to "archive.ubuntu.com". Yes, this was the change that stopped giving the 403, since we were tailing the logs and it stopped as soon as we removed the dot and restarted squid- deb-proxy. If you need any more details, feel free to let me know. I'll be glad to help. ** Changed in: squid-deb-proxy (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Opinion ** Changed in: squid-deb-proxy (Ubuntu) Status: Opinion => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1483093 Title: .archive.ubuntu.com is non inclusive To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/squid-deb-proxy/+bug/1483093/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 805700] Re: Natty&Oneiric - intel 82945G/GZ graphics card - Intel driver fails
Hi there. This is a VERY common problem with Intel chipsets and video cards. I have been posting some steps in different questions in the answer tracker, and those usually work to solve the problem. Here they are: 1.- Search the values of HorizSync and VertRefresh of your monitor. 2.- Open a terminal and type "sudo X configure :1" without quotes. This will create a new xorg.conf file. 3.- In the same terminal, type "gksu gedit xorg.conf.new" without quotes. This will open a text editor with the file that you have just created in there. 4.- You will see that it is divided in sections. Search for the Monitor section, and before the EndSection line of that section, add this two lines, without quotes: "HorizSync 30.0 - 81.0 VertRefresh 56.0 - 75.0" 5.- Replace the values in there with the values found in step 1. 6.- Save and close the file. If you want to, you can put it into a pastebin so I can check it before you move. If you do not want to, then move on to the next step. 7.- In a terminal, type "sudo mv xorg.conf.new /etc/X11/xorg.conf" without quotes. This will move the file to its correct position. 8.- Restart the PC. In case it does NOT works, copy this command into a paper: "sudo rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf", and boot into text mode, to enter this command without quotes and remove the file. If it works, please ignore this step. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/805700 Title: Natty&Oneiric - intel 82945G/GZ graphics card - Intel driver fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/805700/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 840082] [NEW] Huawei broadband modem fails to connect after the most recent Ocelot update (Sep. 3.2011)
Public bug reported: Huawei broadband modem fails to connect to Tigo, Honduras, after the most recent Ocelot update (Sep. 3.2011). 3.0.0.9 Kernel. Ocelot finds and recognises the modem, and dials, but it just fails to connect to the Internet service. I'm back in Natty now and I'm connecting fine. Also, it was connecting without issue (in Ocelot) 10 minutes ago before the upgrade. The update log is attached. Any thoughts? Regards, CaymanPirate ** Affects: gnome-nettool (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/840082 Title: Huawei broadband modem fails to connect after the most recent Ocelot update (Sep. 3.2011) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-nettool/+bug/840082/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
