[Bug 299360] Re: No automatic package update notifications since Intrepid upgrade

2008-11-27 Thread Jannis Menn
I have the same problem. On my system, /etc/cron.daily/apt is also not
executable. I've changed this, hopefully it will work now. Good Idea to
CC this to the security team.

[Bug 293772] [NEW] ktorrent crashes rt73usb

2008-11-04 Thread Jannis Menn
Public bug reported:

This is about the rt73usb (or rt2x00lib or rt2500) network-driver
module. I use a Linksys WUSB54GC USB-wlan-adapter.

When I use ktorrent for uploads or downloads, after a while (about 20 minutes)
the network connection crashes. I cannot send/receive data with the network,
altough ifconfig still says the connection is online.
With dmesg I get the following, repeatet several times:

[ 5831.767352] phy0 -> rt2x00queue_write_tx_frame: Error - Arrived at non-free
entry in the non-full queue 2.

[ 5831.767354] Please file bug report to http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com.

When I use "deactivate wireless connections" in knetworkmanager, than
reactivate and connect again to my network, it works again.

[Bug 475936] Re: /dev/mapper/tmp encrypted with /dev/urandom not mounted on bootup

2009-12-12 Thread Jannis Menn
Thanks a lot for the workaround, I had the same problem here, now it works.
It also fixed a problem at bootup, where I sometimes got the message
"/dev/mapper/crypttemp already mounted or /tmp busy", which resulted in
mountall to fail, dropped into a root-shell and I needed to press CRTL-D to
retry.
I think this bug may affect a lot of people who believe that /tmp is encrypted
while it actually isn't.

[Bug 534116] [NEW] calendar should have option not to show days with repeating appointments bolded in the monthly summary view

2010-03-07 Thread Jannis Menn
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

At the moment the monthly summary view of the evolution calendar marks every
day where there is an appointment bold. This leads to the situation where
almost all the days are bolded, which makes the feature quite useless. An
improvement of the feature would be to have an option for the user so that
repeating appointments do not make a day bolded (it's implented like this in
Kontact).

[Bug 805519] [NEW] After update: Audio-output only on the left side when using mono-track with usb-headset

2011-07-04 Thread Jannis Menn
Public bug reported:

When using VLC to play a WMA-File recorded in mono, I only get an audio-
output on the left side, when I use my Logitech USB-Headset. Playback
works fine when using the speakers or when playing a audio-file recorded
in stereo.

This only occurs with the "1.1.9-1ubuntu1.2" version of the program. It
does not happen with "1.1.9-1ubuntu1.1" (using kubuntu 11.04).

2011-07-04 Thread Jannis Menn
Hi Brendan,

it happens only with vlc. I tried transcribe, xine and dragonPlayer, all
without problems.

One information I forgot to mention: It seems to have something to do
with the package "vlc-plugin-pulse". When I downgrade vlc /and/ this
package, it works again.

[Bug 709830] [NEW] kmail does not use the encryption-settings defined in the addressbook

2011-01-29 Thread Jannis Menn
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdepim

I use Kmail to post on an encrypted mailinglist. So I have defined a
contact for the list in the kaddressbook, where in the encryption-
settings I have selected the keys of all the members of the group - so
that when I send mails to the list, it will be encrypted for all of
them.

This worked fine for some time now but recently (I can't say exactly
after which version - maybe after upgrading to kubuntu 10.10) kmail just
doesn't use the encryption-settings from the address-book anymore. So
when I select the mail to be encrypted, kmail suggests just the key for
the list-address itself - which is of course useless, because I want to
encrypt for all the members. So now I have to select the keys manually
for every mail i send.

The version of kontact is 4.4.6, I am using Kubuntu 10.10.
