[Bug 306087] [NEW] rt73usb intrepid 8.10 -- wireless connection periodically lost

2008-12-07 Thread Ivo Jimenez
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.27-10-generic

Following the advice on this comment
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/283759/comments/25 I'm creating a
new bug report for this issue that it hasn't been solved (at least for
me and others). The network rt73usb driver doesn't work, my machine
keeps disconnecting every few KB transfered (or seconds passed). I tried
installing the linux-backports-2.6.27-10-generic package but the driver
isn't being loaded.

didn't solve the issue for me. I'm still plugged to the cord :-(

[Bug 283759] Re: rt73usb intrepid 8.10 beta -- wireless connection periodically lost; must restart driver

2008-11-30 Thread Ivo Jimenez
I updated from linux-image-2.6.27-8 to linux-image-2.6.27-10 today and
the connection issues have improved. My machine keeps disconnecting
though, don't know if it's every few MB transfered or every few minutes.
I'll keep testing. I used the backports package for 2.6.27-8 but not for
this one. I'll try it out to see if improves.

Cheers

[Bug 306087] Re: Ralink rt73usb / rt73 intrepid 8.10 -- wireless connection periodically lost

2009-01-27 Thread Ivo Jimenez
Hi,

I couldn't test the latest drivers and test them (lack of time), but on
the most recent update my wireless card started to work correctly. I,
however, had to remove the network-manager and configure it manually in
/etc/network/interfaces.

Cheers!!

No more cables for me, thanks to the Open Source community

My connection kept going down (approx. every 2 hours). I haven't realize
how easy it's to add the drivers on http://wireless.kernel.org/ so I
gave it a try and everything is working nicely!!

Thanks much

[Bug 216692] Re: aptitude automatically beginning an upgrade without waiting for user consent

2008-05-22 Thread Ivo Jimenez
To me it has become really annoying. I've had to spend several hours
fixing my system because it uninstalled a lot of packages.

[Bug 258985] Re: Ralink rt73 hangs and requires reboot

2009-07-07 Thread Ivo Jimenez
Hi,

For the last couple of months I've been plugged to the cable because I
haven't had the chance to continue to test the fixes proposed for this
bug. Finally I was able to make some time and I've tested it,
unfortunately my desktop-PC still hangs as soon as the module is loaded.
I'm using Jaunty so the only thing I had to do is to remove the module
from the blacklist.conf file.

I tried it with and without using NetworkManager

Messages from dmesg are:

+1 for a backport to karmic

[Bug 1480004] [NEW] Prevent cgroup filesystem from getting mounted

2015-07-30 Thread Ivo Jimenez
Public bug reported:

On trusty (14.04.1), I installed `cgroup-lite` (1.9) which mounts the
virtual FS for cgroups subsystems in `/sys/fs/cgroup/*`. I've executed
`cgclear` (from the `cgroup-bin` package) and uninstalled/purged
`cgroup-lite`. When I reboot, the subsystems are mounted again. Question
is: how can I prevent this from happening? Is there any config/script
file that is read/executed when booting that accomplishes this?

No other packages related to cgroups (e.g. `lxc`, `libcgroup1` or
`cgmanager`) are installed.

** Affects: cgroup-lite (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

how can I disable the notifications, I just want the typing break to
appear, without warnings. Another question. Is there a way to have it
in the indicator, as the 2.x version was (with a green/red icon).

Thanks a lot in advance
