[Bug 398316] Re: cant decompress files with ü

2009-12-11 Thread Hernán
I must say, it is not fixed. I'm using karmik and with the Test provided by
"cbrmichi" i have encountered the (Codificación No Valida) message. This has
happend to me as well with certain (private) files of my own.
It's odd, since I have never had to do any worarrounds for this matter with
Jaunty.

[Bug 403135] Re: Notification area icon wrongly rendered/has a black background (multiple apps)

2009-12-07 Thread Hernán
Have the same problem with some icons like the JDownloader and Amarok
(1.41). But worst is with the network manager, that doesn't work in the
notification area, it's just a grey square. I'm using Karmic.

[Bug 398316] Re: cant decompress files with ü

2009-12-21 Thread Hernán
I'm sorry I wouldn't like to change the Status on this Bug since nobody has
replied my post.
Is anybody else having this problem? I've tested on two machines with different
Iso Images and the result is the same with 9.10. I cannot decompress nor open
files with characters like "º" or "ü".
If anybody could please reply, I would appreciate it.

[Bug 66448] Bad volume control config when Sound Blaster Live 24-bit is used

2006-10-16 Thread Hernán Alvarez
Public bug reported:

When you install Ubuntu Dapper or Edgy, the volume control on the GNOME
panel comes pre-configured to set the volume of center/LFE channel, only
used on 5.1 setups, when it should control the front L/R channel.

It's easy to resolve (going to volume control settings and modifying
it), but it should be correctly preconfigured, as is with other sound
cards.

I've tested it on Dapper 6.06, 6.06.1 and Edgy Beta.

[Bug 115698] LG L1740PQ monitor resolution not correctly detected

2007-05-19 Thread Hernán Alvarez
Public bug reported:

The LG L1740PQ monitor (17" LCD, 1280x1024) is not identified (Ubuntu

I've just downloaded 7.04 Herd-2 and tested it. The bug remains the
same.

[Bug 1734147] Re: Ubuntu 17.10 corrupting BIOS - many LENOVO laptops models

2017-12-30 Thread Hernán Alvarez
Hi, I have a Baytrail-based Compal ZAW70 (sold under the brand "Kelyx"
in Argentina) which was affected by this bug. I installed using ukuu
both 4.14.9 and 4.14.10 kernels without resolving the issue, the UEFI
settings remain read only.

Just loading the updated SPI driver resolves the issue or there is some
command to be run?

Thank you gwel! With your message I realized I did not have VirtualBox
installed from the expected source because I installed "virtualbox"
instead of "virtualbox-6.1":

$ apt-cache policy virtualbox
virtualbox:

virtualbox-6.1:

So Ubuntu's own repo needs update probably as you mention.
