For me the file was ~/.config/mimeapps.list

Thank you for that workaround from comment 12!

[Bug 1241736] [NEW] Wrong menu is being shown if mouse not moved after area selection

2013-10-18 Thread Grzegorz G.
Public bug reported:

What I did:
(See attached video.) In both tests I've selected two files and right-clicked
one of them. In the first case I didn't move the cursor between releasing LMB
and pressing RMB; in the second case, I did.

What happened:
In the first case Nautilus acted like I've right-clicked empty space in the
folder, even though I've clicked a file. In the second case it acted normally -
like I've right-clicked a file.

What was expected:
In both cases Nautilus should act like I've right-clicked a file.

Additional info:
Ubuntu 13.04, GNOME nautilus 3.6.3 (1:3.6.3-0ubuntu16).

I was really confused. I've tried few times and it looked like I can't
open right-click menu related to few files. I have found solution in
about 15s to 1m, but If I didn't knew anything about mouse events (and
average user doesn't have that knowledge) it would last longer.

[Bug 1236749] Re: Gnome shell extensions disabled at every startup

2013-12-04 Thread Grzegorz G.
I have this problem too, but not at every startup. It only happens
sometimes. Also gnome-tweak-tool often crashes (similar to comment #15 )
and sometimes screen locking behaves weird (see attachment) - I can take
a screenshot and it lands in my Images folder, but I can't alt-tab, or
anything like this. I have to ctrl+alt+F6, login and run

DISPLAY=:0 gnome-shell --replace

, but sometimes even this doesn't work. Some data:

Ubuntu 13.10

$ gnome-shell --version
GNOME Shell 3.8.4

$ gsettings get org.gnome.shell enabled-extensions
['alternate-...@gnome-shell-extensions.gcampax.github.com',

BTW Windows Overview Tooltips isn't shown on

workarounds mentioned here.

Well, this bug was opened in 2005 and now is 2012! And fun fact: this

first. Like bug #852923 - it doesn't work out of the box on Oneiric,
Precise and Quantal. Fix should be easy (adding a file to
/usr/share/thumbnailers during install), but nobody cares.

[Bug 636334] Re: android .apk mime info

2012-05-14 Thread Grzegorz G.
In Precise .apk files are recognised as application/vnd.android.package-
archive. By default .apk files are opened by file-roller, but icon is
textfile's icon. I'm going to mark this bug as Fix Released. If you want
.apk files to have special icon, reopen this bug or file new.

think this bug is outdated and should be marked as invalid or something,
in order to clean bugs up a bit.

Still isn't fixed in Gnome 3.4. Empathy doesn't even use gg numbers from
gnome-contacts (contacts made using evolution 3.4).

This means Gadu-Gadu ISN'T SUPPORTED! Remove it from list or fix it!

I'm falling back to Kadu now.

[Bug 1247153] Re: wallpaper doesn't draw completely

2014-01-11 Thread Grzegorz G.
This package cointains .jpg images, not code responsible for drawing the
wallpaper. I'm marking this as invalid. If I remember correctly,
Nautilus was responsible for drawing the background, so you can report
this bug against Nautilus.

BTW your Unity panel looks weird. Maybe Ubuntu wasn't correctly
installed on your PC?

@MicWit: I had problems even with 11.10, as you can see in the

workaround 2: disable AMD C1E. Maybe you should open a separate bug

[Bug 1007508] Re: Unable to boot without workarounds

2013-10-06 Thread Grzegorz G.
I have finally forced myself to go back to this bug. Tested with Linux
3.12 rc3 from mainline ppa. AMD C1E set to auto -> can't boot. AMD C1E
set to disabled -> boots normally.

I probably should send a mail to the maintainers, but last time I did
it, I got no response from them. Maybe I've screwed something with this
mail? Can you give me exact mail to send the info?

The same, but with Intel Sandy Bridge graphics and GDM. Trusty x64 with

What is funny, it doesn't happen on Youtube itself, only on videos

Yes, I have revision 3.1. When I checked last time (~2 monts ago) newest
bios was F5d. In F5g description it states "Beta BIOS". I'm not sure if
upgrading BIOS to beta release is a good idea...

Yes, I saw powernow-k8 warning too. Cool'N'Quiet can't be forced to be
enabled. There are only two options: disabled and auto; I have it set to
auto.

[Bug 1007508] Re: ACPI bug in Precise (generic kernel 3.2.0.24.26)

2012-09-04 Thread Grzegorz G.
Hm, look at this:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=11414032#post11414032
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=117717
And other, found by Google.

Some people are actually running Linux on this mainboard. IDK if with
workarounds or not, maybe we should ask them?

But I've also found threads (in Polish and English) about Linux not
booting with this mainboard.

And there is a thread (in Polish) where someone says that he was able to
boot linux without any additional params, only by using nomodeset for
LiveCD: http://forum.dobreprogramy.pl/instalator-ubuntu-nie-uruchamia-
sie-t487193.html (System installed and no GRUB editing was necessary.)
I'll try to boot my PC without my workaround, only with nomodeset.

[Bug 1007508] Re: ACPI bug in Precise (generic kernel 3.2.0.24.26)

2012-08-15 Thread Grzegorz G.
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected

** Description changed:

On my new PC something is wrong with ACPI support under Linux.

WORKAROUND: I have to boot it with acpi=off and nolapic, without any of
those two system won't boot. (As a side effect it detects only one CPU
core and won't shut down completely, I have to hold power button for few
  seconds to power PC off.)

  My configuration:

  Ubuntu 12.04 (upgraded from 11.10)
  Processor AMD FX(tm)-4100 Quad-Core
  RAM 8,00 GB
Graphic Gigabyte GV-N56GOC-1GI (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560)
  Mainboard Gigabyte GA-870A-USB3
  Disk ATA OCZ-AGILITY3 (SSD)

According to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingACPI I tried booting it
with acpi=ht (also with acpi=ht AND nolapic), but not to avail. Quote:
'If acpi=off works and acpi=ht fails, then the issue is in the ACPI
table parsing code itself, or perhaps the SMP code. '

I will also attach files mentioned on the DebuggingACPI wiki page.

It did happen in Oneiric. Other releases not tested. (But it also did

2012-08-20 Thread Grzegorz G.
You mean to check if it happens, or you want me to run this command again? Yes,
it happens:
- no additional parameters -> won't boot
- acpi=off AND nolapic -> boots (wifi and resolution errors, but it doesn't
matter).

[Bug 1007508] Re: ACPI bug in Precise (generic kernel 3.2.0.24.26)

2012-08-27 Thread Grzegorz G.
It didn't help. I tried booting without any special parameters and it
doesn't work. (But I didn't try with only acpi=off or with only
nolapic.) I thought photo of screen can help, because kernel complains
about some incorrect checksum (as it did before).

comment #164 gives valuable information and you should follow this guide
instead of just disabling HW acceleration.

[Bug 900985] Re: No guide to the basics of Unity is shown on first login

2011-12-13 Thread Grzegorz G.
IMHO introduction to the Ubuntu (not only unity) should be intaractive.
Imagine arrow pointing at dash icon saying "This is your main menu
called Dash. Click it.". User clicks, dash opens and arrow points out
all items in the dash, explains them and encourages user to try them
out.

Also there should introduction designed especially for Windows users.
(eg. "This is like start menu in Windows. It's called Dash. Click it.")
