[Bug 124406] Re: Keyboard keys get stuck and repeat (Feisty, Gutsy)

2009-06-02 Thread François Pernoud
I'm using a Compaq Presario V6000. I had this problem only with Ubuntu
8.10. I never saw it with previous versions, and it disappeared when I
upgraded to 9.04.

[Bug 252683] Re: Intrepid: Ubuntu might ruin fan on Acer TravelMate 6292 notebook

2008-11-02 Thread François Pernoud
My Compaq Presario V6012 had similar symptoms, i.e. fan running full
speed after upgrade to 8.10, though it happened only after
suspend/resume. Looks like it's related to nvidia 177.80 driver version,
since reverting back to nvidia 173.14.12 solved the problem.

Same here, ppa3 packages fix the problem on my Presario V6012. Thanks.

[Bug 1318833] Re: duplicity backup fails in 14.04

2016-04-02 Thread François Pernoud
The command line is :

duplicity --include-filelist duplicity.list -vi $HOME
file::///media/francois/hubic/default/sauvegardes

where file duplicity.list is a file with a list of files and directories
to be excluded (see attachment) and target is a filesystem mounted with
hubicfuse.

I didn't uninstall version from repo neither reinstalled from source.
I'll try that when time permits.

[Bug 1318833] Re: duplicity backup fails in 14.04

2016-04-03 Thread François Pernoud
So I have uninstalled repo version and reinstalled from source, and got
the error again, though it was with different command line:

duplicity -vi --no-compression --no-encryption /home/francois/Photos/
file:///media/francois/hubic/sauvegardes/Photos

here are the last messages (in french, sorry):

[Bug 1318833] Re: duplicity backup fails in 14.04

2016-04-01 Thread François Pernoud
Same problem here with duplicity 0.7.06, run from terminal on Ubuntu
15.10.

Not every run fails, so I manage to do backups with a loop in a script
to re-run duplicity automatically when it happens to fail.

[Bug 657790] Re: Dot key on keypad is not interpreted by Gnucash with a French locale

2010-10-11 Thread François Pernoud
Actually, I believe there are 2 problems with Gnucash, Maverick and
locale fr_FR.utf8:

First, when pressing '.' of numeric keypad, default keyboard mapping
gives 'period'. Shouldn't the correct code be 'KP_Decimal', so that
applications can distinguish between actual period and decimal
separator? It can be remapped this way with
'System/Preference/Keyboard/Layouts/Options.../Numeric keypad delete key
behaviour/Legacy key with dot' (in french
'Système/Préférences/Clavier/Agencements/Options/Comportement de la
touche suppression du clavier numérique/Touche obsolète avec point').

Second, the problem with Gnucash is that it doesn't understand
'KP_Decimal' keycode with fr_FR.utf8 locale. A workaround is to run
Gnucash as 'LC_MONETARY=C gnucash', at the cost of displaying numbers
the english way instead of the locale french one.

Note that one could remap numeric keypad '.' to comma, but it is not the
correct way to do as it would prevent using numeric keypad '.' in some
contexts we actually need period , for typing an IP address for
example.

[Bug 657790] Re: Dot key on keypad is not interpreted by Gnucash with a French locale

2010-10-12 Thread François Pernoud
There's an already known bug about numpad dot interpreted incorrectly in
Gnucash. Found in http://gnucash.org/:
Bug #618434 - Decimal separator is always '.' when using the keypad, patch by
Yasuaki Taniguchi

This bug is corrected in upcoming version.
