[Bug 244591] Re: Cannot connect to ICQ ("The client version you are using is too old.")

2008-07-01 Thread Felix Geyer
Pidgin has to be recompiled to fix this bug as it doesn't store the icq version
info in a config file.
I can confirm that the above patch works.

[Bug 312554] Re: Regression: bug: int 14 cr2... booting 2.6.28 in jaunty fails on ASUS P5q and maybe others

2009-01-31 Thread Felix Geyer
Before kernel 2.6.27.2 came out I submitted that patch to Ubuntu.
As soon as Ubuntu updated to 2.6.27.2 the patch has been dropped because it has
been applied upstream since that version.

Then in 2.6.28-1.1 the upstream patch has been reverted:
https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/jaunty-changes/2008-November/001218.html
The changelog says:
  [ Upstream Kernel Changes ]
  * Revert "x86, early_ioremap: fix fencepost error"

Which is just wrong as this patch has never been reverted upstream.
So please drop that reverse patch as it surely causes the same problems as is
Intrepid.

[Bug 348497] Re: Pulling Xorg virtualbox support by default

2009-06-05 Thread Felix Geyer
This would require splitting the guest additions into 5 packages:
virtualbox-ose-guest-utils - shared folders, time syncing [depends on
virtualbox-ose-guest-source]
virtualbox-ose-guest-x11 - shared clipboard, seamless mode, auto-resize
[depends on virtualbox-ose-guest-source]
virtualbox-ose-guest-source - kernel module (dkms)
xserver-xorg-video-virtualbox-ose / xserver-xorg-video-vbox - X.Org video driver
xserver-xorg-input-virtualbox-ose / xserver-xorg-input-vbox - X.Org mouse driver

Also virtualbox-ose would have to be moved to main.

Should I work on implementing this change or are there
objections/required changes?

Ok actually this isn't true :-)

The PUEL allows to redistribute unmodified copies of the iso.
So we could create a new package virtualbox-guest-additions in multiverse.
Additionally virtualbox-ose could suggest or recommend

[Bug 379057] Re: Virtualbox OSE mouse integration doesn't work in Jaunty guests

2009-05-23 Thread Felix Geyer
The VirtualBox mouse driver isn't automatically enabled.
Does your /etc/X11/xorg.conf contain the line: Driver "vboxmouse" ?

You can call /usr/share/virtualbox/x11config.pl to add the necessary
config options.

[Bug 370677] Re: Ekiga launcher does not appear in KDE4 Launcher menu after installation

I can also confirm it.

The reason for this bug is ubuntu_desktop-file-onlyshowin.patch which adds the
following line to ekiga.desktop:
OnlyShowIn=GNOME;Mobile

I'm not sure what this patch is good for but it should at least be changed to:
OnlyShowIn=GNOME;KDE;Mobile;

[Bug 366879] [NEW] X server chooses unsupported screen depth

2009-04-25 Thread Felix Geyer
Public bug reported:

I installed the fglx driver from ubuntu-x-swat X updates PPA
(2:8.602-0ubuntu1~xup~1).

X Server fails to start with the following error message in Xorg.0.log:
(II) fglrx(0): Creating default Display subsection in Screen section
"Default Screen" for depth/fbbpp 8/8
(EE) fglrx(0): Given depth (8) is not supported by fglrx driver

Adding DefaultDepth 24 to the Screen section of xorg.conf solves the
problem.

I can reproduce this bug with Adobe Flash 10.

The 3 patches mentioned in the upstream bugreport definitely fix the issue
(tested with patched xulrunner 1.9 and firefox 3.0):
http://hg.mozilla.org/index.cgi/mozilla-central/rev/9bbea3b66376
http://hg.mozilla.org/index.cgi/mozilla-central/rev/e30f2c0b5c1f

[Bug 263543] Re: ubuntu 8.10 alpha4 boot failure

2008-10-01 Thread Felix Geyer
This is not an Ubuntu specific bug.

I did some more testing with other distributions and they both trigger the same
bug (with slightly different error messages):
- Fedora 10 beta x86_64 (Kernel 2.6.27)
- openSUSE 11.0 i386 (Kernel 2.6.25)

So I guess this bug has been introduced in 2.6.25.
Is there a way to obtain more debugging information?

2008-10-10 Thread Felix Geyer
There is an upstream patch available, that didn't make it into 2.6.27 final:
http://lkml.org/lkml/2008/10/9/267 (attached for convenience)

Please add it to the intrepid kernel.
I can confirm that it fixes this bug.

[Bug 239182] Re: segfualt in cairo_draw_with_xlib

2008-07-14 Thread Felix Geyer
Firefox 3.0.1 doesn't include the fix (at least the build1).
I think the problem is, that the patches change a public header file
(gfxXlibNativeRenderer.h), which might break applications that depend on
xulrunner.

2009-02-04 Thread Felix Geyer
This is a regression caused by Poppler.
It's fixed in v0.10 so it only affects Intrepid.

There is a backported bugfix from Fedora, which I sumbitted to Debian:

[Bug 328161] Re: virtualbox-ose new upstream version 2.1.4

2009-03-01 Thread Felix Geyer
When compiling VirtualBox without VBOX_WITH_64_BITS_GUESTS, RTGCPTR has the
type uint32_t.
So AssertCompileSize(RTGCPTR, 8) fails, as sizeof(RTGCPTR)==4. This seems to
be a bug in VirtualBox.
The Debian package builds because it doesn't unset VBOX_WITH_64_BITS_GUESTS on
32bit systems and by default VBOX_WITH_64_BITS_GUESTS is set on all archs.
So I recommend removing the VBOX_WITH_64_BITS_GUESTS code from debian/rules.

- Linux Additions: fixed a driver issue preventing X11 from compiling keymaps

The first one is a regression in 2.1.0. It makes it impossible to use a
keyboard layout other than English when the Linux additions are
installed.

So I think it's worth updating the Jaunty version to 2.1.2

When I open repository A and then repository B, only repository A appears in
