[Bug 570228] Re: Software Rasterizer used on system with Radeon card after Lucid upgrade
I don't know if this would play a factor, but when I did the dist upgrade to lucid, the keyboard and mouse froze, so I couldn't answer the dialogs that came up during the "cleanup" stage of the installation process. I had to hold down the power button to restart. So maybe some configuration didn't finish. I'll try running the Live CD when the official relase happens on the 29th and see if the problem still exists. -- Software Rasterizer used on system with Radeon card after Lucid upgrade https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/570228 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 570228] Re: Software Rasterizer used on PowerPC system with Radeon card after Lucid upgrade
Disabling KMS worked, although I needed to provide my own xorg.conf file. (Otherwise, the screen goes crazy) For those who are trying to fix this issue on their own computer, here's what I put in /etc/modprobe.d/radeon-kms.conf : options radeon modeset=0 I attached the xorg.conf file I'm currently using. ** Attachment added: "The xorg.conf file that I'm using now that I have KMS off for the radeon card." http://launchpadlibrarian.net/46313178/xorg.conf -- Software Rasterizer used on PowerPC system with Radeon card after Lucid upgrade https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/570228 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 570228] Re: Software Rasterizer used on PowerPC system with Radeon card after Lucid upgrade
I've played with this a bit (after some updates to lucid) and I found that I don't need an xorg.conf anymore. It seems like all that is needed to get around this issue is to disable KMS for the graphics card. -- Software Rasterizer used on PowerPC system with Radeon card after Lucid upgrade https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/570228 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 661817] [NEW] some connections using FW15 are much slower than with FW13
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: b43-fwcutter Some months ago, I noticed that connections at the local library had become very slow (30KB/s). They use WPA and BlueSocket. I thought that this was due to a change at the library, but I just tried reverting to FW13 using b43-fwcutter and instantly noticed much, much faster connections. I guess things must have changed when I started using FW15.
