[Bug 67451] Re: Crash when closing a loading rss window

2008-10-28 Thread Danny van Heumen
I can confirm this for:
Ubuntu Hardy (fully updated) + Thunderbird 2.0.0.17 (from Mozilla website, not
Ubuntu repository)

[Bug 246350] [NEW] klibido klibidoload can not work with spaces in nzb file name

2008-07-07 Thread Danny van Heumen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: klibido

klibido comes with a shell script /usr/bin/klibidoload. klibidoload can
be linked to NZB-files in order to load them into klibido by double
clicking. (Binding the application to the mime-type.) But the script is
missing quotes around the $1 occurrences, so it does not correctly
handle nzb file names with spaces.

Description:Ubuntu 8.04.1
Release:8.04

klibido:
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 0.2.5-5ubuntu3
  Version table:
 0.2.5-5ubuntu3 0
500 http://nl.archive.ubuntu.com hardy/universe Packages

When passing an nzb-file with one or more spaces in the file name to
/usr/bin/klibidoload it will do nothing. It should have opened op the
open NZB window inside klibido asking the user where to store the
downloaded files.

** Affects: klibido (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 67451] Re: Crash when closing a loading rss window

2008-12-22 Thread Danny van Heumen
As far as I can tell, it looks to me like the *bug is fixed*.

I've installed Thunderbird 3.0 Beta 1 on a system running Ubuntu
Intrepid. This system has never run any version of Thunderbird, so it
should be a completely clean test.

At first I thought the bug still existed. I tried about 10 to 15 times
subsequently to reproduce the bug. After trying for several times, it
seemed to close unexpectedly. But I couldn't find a clear sign that
thunderbird actually crashed. So now I think that I just accidentally
pushed 'CTRL+W' twice, where the second CTRL+W closes the main window,
since this is the active window after closing the news reader window.

I know for sure that simply closing the reader window before the feed is
completely loaded does not crash Thunderbird like it would with
Thunderbird 2.0.18.

[Bug 338362] [NEW] wpa_supplicant wifi connection gets disconnected with tls_connection_handshake

2009-03-05 Thread Danny van Heumen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: wpasupplicant

I'm running (K)Ubuntu Intrepid, fully updated. Since a few days I have
gotten disconnected far more than normal from an existing, connected
wifi connection. (I haven't had any wifi troubles for months.) When I
look in /var/log/wpa_supplicant.log, I get the following messages:

--- /var/log/wpa_supplicant.log ---
...

It happens at quite a regular frequency and I can't help but think that it
might have something to do with the recent TLS updates.
I also have a friend who remarked that he also hadn't had anymore wifi problems
since his reinstallation (about a week ago) and he now also has problems. We
get the same error messages.

[Bug 48029] Re: Can't load r200_dri in libGL (ATI Radeon R250 Lf [FireGL 9000])

2007-01-26 Thread Danny van Heumen
I stumbled upon a message on the internet while searching for a resolution that
said something like:
"After debugging and looking at loaded drivers and such it seems that even if I
use the 'ati' driver it tries to load some DRI components from the 'fglrx'
driver. After uninstalling the xorg-video-fglrx driver this problem was gone."

I have tried the same, and it worked flawlessly for me. So I would
advise anyone else to try this. (And you could also try the other way
around: uninstall 'ati' and use 'fglrx' if that's preferred. Haven't
tested this though.)

It seems like those two drivers might conflict with each other. (At
least they did for me.)

2010-04-03 Thread Danny van Heumen
I can confirm that the updates work.

I have installed a RAID1 system up to the point that GRUB errors out.
Then I executed a shell, chrooted to the target system and updated the packages
(including grub).
After the updates were installed, I exited back to the installer, installed the
Grub bootloader using the menu item and it worked like a charm, no error
message at all.

(I started the installation from an Alternative disc in Expert mode.)

[Bug 356141] Re: [LENOVO 8741AE5] hibernate/resume failure

2010-03-14 Thread Danny van Heumen
In the mean time I have switched to Ubuntu Karmic (9.10). I don't have
this particular problem om Karmic.

I'm willing to run apport to gather the extra information if you'd like
me to, but given that I've upgraded to Karmic, I assume it's not useful
anymore.

FWIW: I still suspect ext4 was the problem then, since I've also tried
another distribution that had the same problem and it went away when I
changed the file system. And I also heard stories from other people that
had trouble with ext4 back then.
