[Bug 244389] Re: Clicking "add" causes crash
I can confirm this bug on Hardy (proposed) i386 updated as of 27/08/08. Attached is the output of running (and gdb, although this is probably useless as there is no debug version available). [Bug 274405] Re: network manager slow to reconnect after suspend/resume
This is also an issue for the iwl3945 on a HP dv6000, and has been for every Ubuntu release I've ever used. As the previous poster says, the workaround is to run sudo iwlist scanning after the resume, after which networkmanager immediately connects. -- network manager slow to reconnect after suspend/resume https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/274405 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 283064] Re: intrepid: bluetooth can not receive files
Baptiste, apologies for my earlier somewhat ranty message, I was rather frustrated at the time! I would just like to thank you for replying to my message, and for explaining the exact issues involved. I realise now that this is neither a gnome or ubuntu issue, and as such there isn't much you can do about it! This is the type of developer attitude that brought me to ubuntu in the first place, and which is nowadays often sadly lacking in other bug reports. [Bug 283064] Re: intrepid: bluetooth can not receive files
If anybody else is looking for a more lightweight solution than gnome-user-share, the package gnome-bluetooth allows files to be received over bluetooth - install it, then go Accessories -> Bluetooth File Sharing. Baptiste, apologies again and I should have looked through apt-cache more closely before posting. -- intrepid: bluetooth can not receive files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/283064 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 283064] Re: intrepid: bluetooth can not receive files
Surely this is a regression? Having to install a heavy and potentially insecure network service for bluetooth file transfers is not a very good solution to a problem that did not exist in the first place - whilst the UI for bluetooth was not brilliant in Gnome 2.22, the stack worked well. I know Gnome has a policy of minimizing settings exposed in the UI, but this is the first case I've come across where previously extremely useful functionality has been removed for the sake of a UI alteration. Does this quote gnome-bluetooth uses older interfaces, and is not going to be fixed. mean that a reverse backport (not sure what that's called!) of the 2.22 bluetooth stack is impossible? Gnome's solid bluetooth stack was previously a credit to the desktop, and I personally believe the decision to remove a large and critical portion and package it separately in an obscure new package is a mistake. -- intrepid: bluetooth can not receive files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/283064 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 273077] Re: Libgweather locations does not include Sheffield, UK
This is still an issue in Intrepid Alpha 6. [Bug 273077] [NEW] Libgweather locations does not include Sheffield, UK
Public bug reported: The list of weather locations in Gnome (Hardy) does not include Sheffield, the 3rd largest city in the UK. If I am missing something I am sorry, I can't believe nobody has filed this bug before. http://weather.noaa.gov/data/nsd_.txt Noaa (or whoever) have a weather station for it (EGSY), and all the information is there. If a patch is required I can submit one, it's just a quick XML hack. It would be great if this could be pushed out to Hardy (as it is an LTS), but I'll be happy if it's in Intrepid. [Bug 283064] Re: intrepid: bluetooth can not receive files
I found a workaround. http://blueman-project.org/ is a fantastic replacement for the current somewhat broken gnome bluetooth stack. Just add the ppa and install blueman. It provides an applet, servers and will even set up serial port devices (gps etc) automagically. Personally, I'd vote for it to be included as the default in Jaunty if the state of bluetooth hasn't improved in gnome by then, but I realise this isn't going to happen. [Bug 314600] Re: [HD 3650] fglrx versions newer than 8.543 cause system hang and panic
I am experiencing a similar but possibly unrelated issue on a Toshiba A300-1K5, which contains an ATI HD3650. With the ATI driver installed as normal, a standard boot will cause a kernel panic.
