[Bug 375402] [NEW] Ordering of the default windows

2009-05-12 Thread Björn Torkelsson
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: byobu

It would be nice if there was a way to specify the order of the default
windows, so that I don't have to delete all already setup default
windows and recreate them. Of course I can edit .byobu/windows but I
consider that a kludge :-)

ProblemType: Bug

[Bug 375410] [NEW] Keybinding missing for quitting screen

2009-05-12 Thread Björn Torkelsson
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: byobu

There are keybindings for detaching and for locking, but there is no
keybinding for quitting the whole session. Instead you have to quit each
window individually.

Also a keybinding for closing a window is missing, you either have to
type exit if it is a shell or know what keys to hit to close the program
running in window.

Both of these may very well be just missing documentation.

2009-05-27 Thread Björn Torkelsson
Hm, yes it is a problem that all F-keys are already used. I think it
would be nice to have an as easy way to close windows/session as it is
to create new windows.

How about have a dialog for deleting windows and/or closing the session?
I.e someting similar to "Manage default windows" but that allows you to
select which windows to close and/or the whole session.

$ openssl verify -verbose -CAfile umueduroamca.pem umu_eduroam_bjto0001.pem

So, yes the certificate is OK.

However if I remove the CA certificate (I still have it in
/etc/ssl/certs though) it seems to be working (I will test more
tomorrow).

When trying to readd the CA certificate in the n-m connection manager I
get the following error:

No, 284409 is also over wireless.

LarryGrover, can you try to add the CA certificate to /etc/ssl/certs and
then rehash it. I.e after putting the CA in for example
/etc/ssl/certs/myUniversityCA.pem, run 'update-ca-certificates --fresh',
and then try again. Without the CA certificate specified in nm.

[Bug 276082] [NEW] firefox asks for which certificate to use multiple times

2008-09-29 Thread Björn Torkelsson
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Somewhere after 3.0.2+build3+nobinonly-0ubuntu2 (probably from
3.0.2+build6+nobinonly-0ubuntu1) firefox started to ask for which client
certificate to use multiple times when using a certificate to log in to
a website. In build3 there was a checkbox for remembering the
certificate for at least the current session, though, unfortunately not
between sessions. This is with "Ask me every time" checked in the
Advanced->Encryption preference.

2008-09-29 Thread Björn Torkelsson
It probably wont work in a live CD/DVD environment anyway as it needs
the kernel module for it to work. At least not until openafs has
switched to using DKMS or until the kernel module has been precompiled.

Guess this bug can be marked as "wont fix"?

[Bug 246558] Re: ssh's init script should generate host keys if they're missing

2008-07-08 Thread Björn Torkelsson
Host keys are not necessarily needed when running openssh-server, i.e
when using GSSAPI/Kerberos, and it could actually be argued that it is a
bug if they were generated automatically if not found.

Please make it configurable if you want the keys to be generated and
which keys you want to be generated.

[Bug 246558] Re: ssh's init script should generate host keys if they're missing

2008-07-10 Thread Björn Torkelsson
Well. It complains that it can't find any hostkeys when started (and
when logging in) but it works perfectly well without hostkeys when using
GSSAPI. As we are only allowing GSSAPI on most of our machines there is
really no need for the hostkey as the host authenticity is established
using the GSSAPI keytab. Actually, getting the question about
authenticity and adding it to know_hosts is bogus as the host is
validated by other means and the only allowed mechanism are gssapi-keyex
are gssapi-with-mic which are not using the hostkeys and thus the login
will fail anyway if you don't have any valid kerberos/gssapi key, but
not until you have accepted the hostkey. If you have a valid key you
don't get the question about host authenticity.

In my opinion ssh should be patched not "requiring" hostkeys (when using
only GSSAPI), instead of automatically generating hostkeys.

Yes I think the keys are generated on installation, but you can always
deleted them if you don't need them or if you don't want to share them,
which is what this bug is about.

sshd_config attached used together with the following ssh-config:

   ForwardX11 yes
   GSSAPIKeyExchange yes
   GSSAPIAuthentication yes
   GSSAPIDelegateCredentials yes
   PreferredAuthentications gssapi-keyex,gssapi-with-mic
   Protocol 2
   Cipher blowfish
   SendEnv LANG LC_*
   StrictHostKeyChecking ask
   HashKnownHosts no

[Bug 270512] Re: openssh-client could suggest xauth rather than recommend it

I'm not so sure that dropping it to a suggestion is a good idea. A lot
server software are managed by a GUI, which you need to run remote.

I a sync request enough or do I need to request a feature freeze

[Bug 89945] Re: scp doesn't report correct filenames with spaces in verbose mode

2008-05-19 Thread Björn Torkelsson
If you run scp with the '-v' (verbose) you can see what command is
actually run. It should be in the first line of output.

Without using any \ or " (or ') the filename are treated by the local
shell as 3 arguments to scp instead of one; the filename.

In the first case the \ are expanded by the local shell and the result
are passed to scp. I.e \\ becames a \ and '\ ' becames ' ', so the
string that are passed to scp is actually 'testmachine:File\ with\
spaces', which are then expanded on the remote side, using the same
rules.

In the second case the \ are not expanded by the local shell because of
the ". The string (including \) are thus expanded on the remote side.

There is actually a third version you can use (at least for the moment):

scp testmachine:"'File with spaces'", i.e using both single and double
quotes. The first pair is removed by the local shell and the second pair
on the remote side.

[Bug 237564] Re: mythtv-status should be run as the same user as mythtv

2008-06-05 Thread Björn Torkelsson
That won't work if you want to update /etc/motd with the mythtv-status

you probably have to just call mythtv-status as 'mythtv' and let the
rest be run as root. On the other hand I think the init.d script is a
bit strange. Why doi you need an init.d script when you usually are
calling it from cron?

Leann,

Please, read the bugreports before sending your "automatically" request

hardy will jump to 2.6.27 as a supported kernel.

The report stated that the required version of coretemp was available in
2.6.25 and asked for a _backport_ of it to hardy, as it is a LTS release
and thus very important for a lot of sites, which can/will not jump to
intrepid.

[Bug 264303] [NEW] Please sync openafs (1.4.7.dfsg1-5) from debian

2008-09-03 Thread Björn Torkelsson
Public bug reported:

Please sync Openafs (1.4.7.dfsg1-5) from Debian. It just contain minor
fixes versus -3, which is the version in the archive currently. Both -3
and -5 needs to be fixed to compile on 2.6.27, however it is worthwhile
to keep the delta with Debian at a minimum.

I assume Russ is not interested in releasing another version of Openafs
for Debian right now, so we need to patch the package in Ubuntu.

I have been running 1.4.7.dfsg1-5 with patches for 2.6.27 for a couple
of days without any noticeable regression and will fill another bug as
soon as the sync has been processed. Unless it is rejected, that is.

Russ that would be awsome, and hopefully that would be a better sync-
candidate, depending on when you get to push it, i.e if you upload the

[Bug 415095] [NEW] tv_grab_se_swedb does not work anymore

In Karmic tv_grab_se_swedb does not work anymore since it tries to fetch

in recent versions of LWP::Simple it returns an uncompressed files
instead.

For reference please see:

[Bug 62196] Re: e1000 Driver Regression: Kernel Panic on Removal

2006-10-14 Thread Björn Torkelsson
The latest kernel (2.6.17-10.33) works better but still not perfect. I
can suspend once, without whitelistning the e1000 module. The second
time it still hangs with the "moon" flashing...

[Bug 150480] Re: Lirc should start earlier

2007-10-15 Thread Björn Torkelsson
As it was an upgrade from feisty it was easier to switch back to my own
startup-script than finding a mouse and keyboard :-)

Sure it have to wait until lirc is up and running. I just have to figure
out what the best way to make sure lirc is running now :-)

You should be hit by it in u-m-f too shouldn't you?

[Bug 150480] Lirc should start earlier

2007-10-08 Thread Björn Torkelsson
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: lirc

lirc should probably be started before gdm so that you can use the
autologin feature of gdm and get a working lirc. Right now I have to
restart gdm or logout/login to make lirc work on my dedicated mythtv
machine.

[Bug 150480] Re: Lirc should start earlier

2007-10-08 Thread Björn Torkelsson
I'm using my own login setup, which has worked for me a few years now
with only minor modifications. I didn't have time to try u-m-f and/or
mythbuntu when I did the upgrade last week andbecause as far as I could
tell both u-m-f and mythbuntu assumes that you have both a mouse and a
keyboard attached to the machine. I only hace a remote attached to the
machine and I am doing every change to the configuration remote.

My ~mythtv/.xsession looks like:

#!/bin/sh

#Set the background to black
xsetroot -solid black

/usr/bin/xset -dpms s off

#If we have mtd around (and not running), good idea to start it too
if ! `pgrep mtd>/dev/null`; then
if [ -x /usr/bin/mtd ]; then
/usr/bin/mtd -d
fi
fi
#check if irexec is needed, and start if need be
if [ -x /usr/bin/irexec ] && [ ! -f ~/.noirexec ] && [ -f ~/.lircrc ]; then
if [ -n "$(cat ~/.lircrc | grep --invert-match "#" | grep irexec | grep
prog)" ]
then
killall irexec
irexec -d
fi
fi

export QT_XFT=1
while /bin/true; do
mythfrontend
#mythfrontend -v osd,important,playback,general
sleep 10
done

Any suggestions how to make it work with lirc? (Without adding a sleep
:-))

I'm wondering why fs says Invalid argument.

[Bug 153652] Re: openafs-modules-source fails to build, appearently because /bin/arch missing

2007-10-18 Thread Björn Torkelsson
Hi,

Sounds almost like a problem with module-assistant, that it does not
pick up the correct kernel-headers Can you try to build with:

sudo module-assistant -t -l 2.6.22-14-powerpc prepare openafs
sudo module-assistant -t -l 2.6.22-14-powerpc build openafs

Is /usr/src/linux a link by the way? What does it point to in that case?
Or do you have the kernel source installed under /usr/src/linux?
