[Bug 294604] Re: Request to import zabbix 1.6.1 from my PPA to universe
I did actually :) The package is waiting in their queue for over a week now :( Because 2 new subpackages are added, they have to be approved by their master-ftp guys... They seem to take their sweet little time ;) Consider this a request to sync to soon-to-come debian 1.6.1-1 package from debian? :) -- Request to import zabbix 1.6.1 from my PPA to universe https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/294604 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 285390] Re: [Intrepid] X freezes when machine is idle for a while
My guess is that this is caused by Compiz. I've had compiz disabled for a week, and all freezes went away. I have now enabled the default "Visual Effects" to normal again, and I'll wait for new freezes to appear. I haven't enabled the cube anymore though ( maybe it's a single compiz plugin that's causing this? ). -- [Intrepid] X freezes when machine is idle for a while https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/285390 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 285390] Re: [Intrepid] X freezes
I'm having the same issue with my Dell Latitude D830 laptop. Same Intel graphics chipset. It freezes almost on a daily basis, and always when i have been away from my laptop for a little while ( even 15 mins or so ). It doesn't freeze every time however. The only thing i can see after a freeze is my desktop background. Logging in through SSH still works, which shows X on 99-100%. Killing the X process doesnt work, ps shows it as X [defunct], but i can still only see my desktop background. Luka, are you using compiz? Is your desktop locked whenever it freezes? Can you still unlock your desktop before the actual freeze kicks in? Anyone have any hints about what this could be? Maybe i can install dbgsym packages and try to get a backtrace? [Bug 57459] 0.9.6 does not work and causes DOS for apache
Public bug reported: Could it be possible to update libapache2-mod-cband in Dapper to the version in Edgy? We're running apache2 hosts here with mod-cband enabled, and it just gives a blank screen when going to http:///cband-status, and, as we found out later after a lot of searching, it keeps on spawning new semaphores, which never gets deleted. After a while, the max. nr of semaphores on the server are reached, and reloading or restarting apache results in a segfault. Only rebooting makes apache come back up. I backported mod-cband from edgy, and the status page loads just fine, and shared memory segments do not increase anymore either. It's been running here on production systems for quite some time now. [Bug 146924] Re: "Time went backwards" + freeze for domU's with kernel 2.6.22-xen
Euh, i just might have found the something interesting.. This morning, i wanted to check my mails ( which run in a domU ). I noticed i couldn't get to it, "Unable to connect", as usual.. But i had cacti open, which could read snmp from the server just fine. I logged in through SSH, and noticed that the date was set to "Fri Dec 22 22:49:54 CET 2226", and not going forward anymore. The clock had stopped. In the meantime, /var/log/messages was spewing messages like this: [134918.952935] clocksource/0: Time went backwards: delta=-6917269600674797899 shadow=134918109266738 offset=843667158 [134923.954592] printk: 1157408 messages suppressed. I then did echo "jiffies" > /sys/devices/system/clocksource/clocksource0/current_clocksource, which instantly made my clock run again, and stalled programs revived. I saw my webmail ( which was still hanging all the time ) spring to life, along with my previously entered reboot command.. Does this narrow down the search to the solution? [Bug 146924] Re: Xen guest suspend causes clock to stop
Essentially this is just a copy of a mail i sent to xen-users: Well, i've found this link earlier: http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-devel/2006-03/msg00442.html , but it seems the code has changed quite a bit since then.. Big parts of the patch seem integrated already though.. For example: Current patch, in use in the running kernel: + if ((blocked > 0) && (delta_cpu > 0)) { + delta_cpu -= blocked; + if (unlikely(delta_cpu < 0)) + blocked += delta_cpu; /* clamp local-time progress */ + do_div(blocked, NS_PER_TICK); + per_cpu(processed_blocked_time, cpu) += blocked * NS_PER_TICK; + per_cpu(processed_system_time, cpu) += blocked * NS_PER_TICK; Patch on the link provided above: if (stolen > 0) { delta_cpu -= stolen; + if (unlikely(delta_cpu < 0)) { + stolen += delta_cpu; + delta_cpu = blocked = 0; + } do_div(stolen, NS_PER_TICK); per_cpu(processed_stolen_time, cpu) += stolen * NS_PER_TICK; per_cpu(processed_system_time, cpu) += stolen * NS_PER_TICK; As you can see, quite different.. "delta_cpu = blocked = 0;" is missing, but might be handled with the rest of the changes in the new code.. Another possibility is that this only applies for i386 (i'm running on x86_64.. ).. I've looked into the patch, and it seems to only patch file arch/i386/kernel/time-xen.c . There isn't a x86_64 equivalent.. ( arch/x86_64/kernel/time-xen.c doesn't exist ) Is this normal? I have been seeing this on the latest Hardy too. Happened twice today already. I ssh'ed in, and killing compiz.real brought my system back to a working state ( i could move windows again and such ). Before that, the only thing that worked was my mouse, and i could still hear sound playing.. [Bug 132726] linux-xen for x64_64?
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-xen I'm currently installing my new colocated server, with Gutsy and xen.. I've used the 2.6.18 directly from xensource, but i find that my ext3 partitions are getting more corrupt by the minute :) I've noticed a linux-xen, linux-image-xen, ... in gutsy, but only for i386.. Other python bug? patches? I didn't have to patch anything to get it to build, but i presume you're using the ubuntu/ubuntu-gutsy.git?
