[Bug 570485] [NEW] [FFe] New upstream release 1.37

2010-04-26 Thread Andres Rodriguez
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: testdrive

There's a new upstream release of TestDrive that includes an important
feature that we would like to see in Lucid.

Currently, TestDrive obtains the Ubuntu Development release statically.
This means that whenever there's a new Devel Release of Ubuntu, the user
hast to manually change the codename for TestDrive, making it a tedious
process. For example, now to be able to TestDrive Maverick ISO's in
lucid, users will have to change that manually.

However, the new upstream release adds the functionality to obtain the
devel release codename automatically by fetching launchpad. We (Dustin
Kirkland, and I), feel it is important to have this new functionality
into lucid due to LTS.

The new upstream (which only includes this feature) has been throughly
tested and everything works as expected.

[Bug 523423] Re: Please merge usbmount 0.0.19.1 from debian testing

2010-02-17 Thread Andres Rodriguez
Due to small typo in changelog this bug was not automatically closed:

It was LP #523423 instead of LP: #523423

usbmount (0.0.19.1ubuntu1) lucid; urgency=low

  * Merge from debian testing (LP #523423), remaining changes:
- debian/rules: Copy udev rules so debhelper picks it up
- debian/install: Do not install by hand
- debian/preinst: Remove symlink on upgrade, and remove old rules file
unless modified in which case rename to new filename.
- debian/postinst: Do not create symlink
- debian/postrm: No symlink to remove
- Bump build-depend on debhelper to install udev rules into
/lib/udev/rules.d, bump dependency on udev to get correct version.

In my case, if you are listening to music *before* launching a VM,
everything will be fine. However, if you try to listen to music *after*
launching a VM, music won't work :(

[Bug 530945] [NEW] Please backport keepalived 1.1.17-2 to Karmic from Lucid

2010-03-02 Thread Andres Rodriguez
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: keepalived

Please backport keepalived 1.1.17-2 to Karmic from Lucid. The reason
behind this backport is because keepalived 1.1.17-1, which is currently
in Karmic, does not have LVS support. This problem has been fixed in
keepalived 1.1.17-2 which we now have in Lucid.

We are disabling fatal warnings because heartbeat wont build otherwise,
so yes is a good idea to do so. See [1]. This delta is a change that we
are keeping from the current heartbeat package in archive. I will be
submitting this changes to debian anytime.

[Bug 562711] Re: [FFe] Please sync heartbeat 1:3.0.2+hg12555-2 (universe) from debian (unstable)

2010-04-14 Thread Andres Rodriguez
I've just been pointed out by Debian maintainer and heartbeat upstream
Martin Loschwitz - Madkiss, that this build error is a glib problem and
does not have anything to do with the heartbeat package:

RoAkSoAx: I know some details about it as LINBIT is heartbeat
upstream. The problem is not in Heartbeat, it's in glib.
 RoAkSoAx: fixed in
http://git.gnome.org/browse/glib/commit/?id=37dbc09080ac280ff7a552d03869c8afa745f15a
 and re-introduced in
http://git.gnome.org/browse/glib/commit/?id=c8e37b63e74fafdc1f299ec139677ad0e37676c3
 -- also see https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=457641

So, after talking to him. We are keeping fatal warnings disabled. :)

2010-04-15 Thread Andres Rodriguez
Hi mgiammarco,

Unfortunately, we are syncing this package from debian and not from
upstream. However changes are made in upstream, will first hit debian
and them we will sync/merge. However, since we are almost to the end of
the release cycle, we are not gonna make any other uploads to this
packages unless its for serious bugfixes.

On the other hand, we are going to keep updated packages in the ubuntu-
ha-maintainers PPA, and backport some whenever we feel they are good
enough. Please, if you wish to have the latest packages as they become
available in debian, please feel free to use the PPA. However, they are
not available just yet.

Cheers,

[Bug 561432] Re: Improper undefined method error

2010-04-17 Thread Andres Rodriguez
After reviewing the debdiff I saw that ruby1.8 is using a patch system.
Please, when the package has a patchsystem please using it instead of
patching the source directly. More information in [1], and follow the
guidelines in [2]:

[Bug 551211] Re: can't bind to port 80

2010-04-05 Thread Andres Rodriguez
That's why the use-ipv6 script in lighttpd.conf is now disabled by
default. As I previously said over a discussion on irc and as explained
in the Debian bug, this will be addressed differently by upstream
developers of lighttpd [1], for lighttpd sandbox/2.0.

[Bug 547267] Re: nginx should not install into /var/www/nginx-default (Debian policy)

2010-04-06 Thread Andres Rodriguez
Hi Daniel,

I'm pretty sure I added this change to fix a bug where users were
complaining about nginx was not installing files /var/www/nginx-default.
I think that the reference was lost in the changelogs.

Anyways, I do think it is important to install the files in such
directory, due to the document root in the default config of nginx
references those path/files. Similar behavior is in lighttpd. Now, as
I've just read in Lintian report it says

"As an exception, packages are permitted to create the /var/www
directory due to its past history as the default document root, but
should at most copy over a default file in postinst for a new install"
(this is what lighttpd does).

So I would go for changing the installation of these files to postinst.
However, I would like to hear your thoughts about this?

Thanks.

[Bug 407722] Re: Please merge lighttpd 1.4.26-1 from Debian testing

Hey Daniel,

I'm been trying but i've also been unsuccessful due to the introduction of the
-dev package. If you have it working now please feel free to unasign me and
merge it. Otherwise, I'll still try to ping someone who can help us out in this
one :) since all my tries have been unsuccessful.
And yes, we definitely need to request a FFe

[Bug 531545] Re: [FFe] Please sync glusterfs 3.0.2 from debian testing

2010-03-08 Thread Andres Rodriguez
** Description changed:

It has been reported that version 2.0.x of glusterfs max's out CPU (see
bug [1]). However, the use of 3.0.x fixes this issue as well as other
bugs, such as (taken from upstream release notes):

GlusterFS 2.0.x clients do not crash GlusterFS 3.0.2 servers
Metadata operations now succeed on an unlinked file
  GlusterFS 3.0.2 works on OpenSolaris
  Performance improvements in self heal

Due this is going to be a LTS release i think it's important to have
latest upstream release providing this fixes and performance
  improvements.
