[Bug 367260] Re: [jaunty] encrypted swap breaks (or slows a lot) the boot
This is the auto configuration of Ubuntu 8.10. Therefore it's a bug in Ubuntu. And I don't think it's a solution to use /dev/urandom, since this raises some other security questions. Bug #362315 might be a duplicate of this one. -- [jaunty] encrypted swap breaks (or slows a lot) the boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/367260 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 367260] Re: [jaunty] encrypted swap breaks (or slows a lot) the boot
/dev/urandom is NOT meant for encryption. The proper encryption of the swap partition is essential for a secured system. It is as important as data partitions. No offense, but I don't understand why you've closed this bug when you understand so little of encryption. -- [jaunty] encrypted swap breaks (or slows a lot) the boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/367260 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 366397] Re: swapon hangs when using file on kernel 2.6.28-11 but works perfect on kernel 2.6.27.11
I can confirm this. I have noticed that I can speed up the process by pressing a few times the return key. But the system still hangs for at least 20 seconds. -- swapon hangs when using file on kernel 2.6.28-11 but works perfect on kernel 2.6.27.11 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/366397 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 322115] Re: my HDA almost mutes if I set volume to 50%
I can also confirm this problem on a Dell Latitude E6400. I think the speakers are also too quiet at 100%, they should be louder. [Bug 324798] Re: snd_hda_intel (latitude E6400) no mic
I also had this problem with my new Dell E6400. But for me it turned out that this is not a bug. This post solved my problem: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=6308232&postcount=6 "So here's how you can fix it.. Double click on the sound icon and open your volume control. Select the device HDA Intel (Alsa) [High Definition Audio Device]. Click "Preferences" and have the following items selected: * Digital Mic 1 * Digital Input Source After clicking close, goto the Options tab. Select "Digital Mic 1" for your Digital Input Source. In the Recording tab make sure your Digital Mic 1 is turned up, all the way for testing. Then make sure your sound settings are using ALSA, System > Preferences > Sound. I have everything selected to "ALSA - Advanced Linux Sound Architecture". Now test her out. Open "Sound Recorder" and hit the record button. Say the following sentence twice: "Linux is great. Linux is greater than Windows. If the box says Windows 95 or greater, then Linux is the greater. Macs are PCs." Hit "Stop" and then hit "Play". I recommend making sure your playback volume is up as well that way you can hear your voice.
