thanks, as you can saw memtest86+ is not orphan anymore (I'm the new maintainer) and a packaging git on salsa was added (https://salsa.debian.org/debian/memtest86plus), if changes/improvements/fixes are needed try to open an MR on debian git or post a patch in debian bugreport and if it is ok I'll apply it in debian directly instead do and maintain an ubuntu specific patch/version when not really needed, so I suppose it would save time and eventually improve the package in debian as well. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1960521 Title: Sync memtest86+ 5.31b+dfsg-4 (main) from Debian unstable (main) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/memtest86+/+bug/1960521/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I see this is "Fix Released" everywhere but on the upstream AppArmor project. I understand this has made its way upstream and works with mainline kernel, e.g. for LXC. [Bug 1960702] [NEW] all snap apps gone after snap upgrade
Public bug reported: After snap has been upgraded yesterday to 2.54.2+21.10ubuntu1, all hell broke loose. All snap-installed apps are gone from gnome - snap firefox cannot be selected as the default browser, gnome says there's no app to handle https:// links when trying to report bugs via ubuntu-bug, firefox launch icon is missing from the dock launcher, even fish prints some kind of error to the console: ``` /usr/share/fish/vendor_conf.d/snapd.fish (line 3): fish_add_path -aP $snap_bin_path ^ from sourcing file /usr/share/fish/vendor_conf.d/snapd.fish called on line 294 of file /usr/share/fish/config.fish from sourcing file /usr/share/fish/config.fish called during startup ``` Firefox has no icon and is showing as the "grey cog wheel" icon, see screenshot for details. Luckily, firefox and all snap apps can be started from the terminal. snap chromium is not present in Gnome Applications list, but when started from the terminal the icon in dock is correct for some reason. None of the snap apps (firefox, chrome, intellij) can be "pinned" in Ubuntu Dock. > dpkg -s snapd Package: snapd Status: install ok installed Priority: optional Section: devel Installed-Size: 93766 Maintainer: Ubuntu Developers Architecture: amd64 Version: 2.54.2+21.10ubuntu1 Replaces: snap-confine (<< 2.23), snapd-xdg-open (<= 0.0.0), ubuntu-core-launcher (<< 2.22), ubuntu-snappy (<< 1.9), ubuntu-snappy-cli (<< 1.9) Depends: adduser, apparmor (>= 2.10.95-0ubuntu2.2), ca-certificates, openssh-client, squashfs-tools, systemd, udev, libc6 (>= 2.34), libfuse2 (>= 2.6), liblzma5 (>= 5.1.1alpha+20110809), liblzo2-2 (>= 2.02), libudev1 (>= 183), zlib1g (>= 1:1.1.4), default-dbus-session-bus | dbus-session-bus Recommends: gnupg Suggests: zenity | kdialog Breaks: snap-confine (<< 2.23), snapd-xdg-open (<= 0.0.0), ubuntu-core-launcher (<< 2.22), ubuntu-snappy (<< 1.9), ubuntu-snappy-cli (<< 1.9) Conflicts: snap (<< 2013-11-29-1ubuntu1) Conffiles: /etc/apparmor.d/usr.lib.snapd.snap-confine.real b9b25a499a2aa93118180bfd799ff48a /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/20snapd.conf e0e08d8267c66b9f81340dd6500cb67a /etc/profile.d/apps-bin-path.sh cf10aed8bb987ded8b7f4ba4303c1e9b /etc/xdg/autostart/snap-userd-autostart.desktop 42fe36462a072a72e09cad553362 Description: Daemon and tooling that enable snap packages Install, configure, refresh and remove snap packages. [Bug 1960703] [NEW] USB TASCAM US-122L audio interface crashes when system load increases
Public bug reported: The TASCAM US-122L, in previous versions of Ubuntu worked okay, with an occasional xrun reported by jackd, running with default settings (sample rate: 48000, frames/period: 1024). In Ubuntu 21.10 the device loads without problem, playback is perfect, but when the system load increases, it immediately crashes. dmesg: [ 218.607518] xhci_hcd :00:14.0: ERROR unknown event type 37 [ 218.613370] underrun, status=4294967278 jackd (hangs): ALSA: prepare audio_reservation_init Acquire audio card Audio1 creating alsa driver ... usb_stream:US122L|usb_stream:US122L|1024|2|48000|0|0|nomon|swmeter|-|32bit configuring for 48000Hz, period = 1024 frames (21.3 ms), buffer = 2 periods ALSA: final selected sample format for capture: 24bit little-endian in 3bytes format ALSA: use 2 periods for capture ALSA: final selected sample format for playback: 24bit little-endian in 3bytes format ALSA: use 2 periods for playback error for playback on "usb_stream:US122L" (Input/output error) JackAudioDriver::ProcessAsync: read error, stopping... So the issue seems related to the load on the USB subsystem as well as the CPU load. I've tried just about anything to find out if the issue is hardware related. Changed cables, used different hubs, no-hub, used different USB ports on the laptop, etc, etc, etc. Same result every time. Also normal playback using PulseAudio instead of Jack suffers from the same. Each time a reset of Jack is needed to get the US-122L to work again. I've tried, besides the default Ubuntu kernel(5.13.0-28-generic) the latest upstream mainline kernel(5.17.0-051700rc3-generic) as well as the low latency kernel (5.13.0-28-lowlatency). Same result. If more information is needed, please let me know. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you in advance. [Bug 1956461] Re: Creative HD720p webcam doesn't work
Thanks to macg3, the workaround you suggested works for me on kernel 5.4.0-99.112. There is one correction. The name of the audio driver is snd_usb_audio and not snd-usb-audio. So in my case after a fresh boot the webcam did not work, and after executing: sudo modprobe -r snd_usb_audio sudo modprobe -r uvcvideo sudo modprobe uvcvideo sudo modprobe snd_usb_audio It started to work OK. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1956461 Title: Creative HD720p webcam doesn't work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1956461/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

The same thing happened just now on my other laptop after upgrading to newest snapd, so this bug is not related to just one machine only. [Bug 1960709] [NEW] Recent bluez update broke Bluetooth for setups using a BT dongle
Public bug reported: A recent upgrade (seemingly 5.53-0ubuntu3.5) broke Bluetooth functionality for certain setups. Specifically, the `ConditionPathIsDirectory=` parameter has been added to the `bluetooth` Systemd unit.
