[Bug 1915661] Re: WDH - CH340G USB UART not supported by ch341 driver in all chip revisions
The NodeMCU Board is running without any issues using the in-kernel driver on Linux machine. The AZ Delivery R1D2 is not Running on the same machine without any change other than changing boards. Not sure how the unloading/reloding of the kernel driver is working; I‘m not an export on module loading. I can see that ch341 is loaded (lsmod) with NodeMCU but not with AZD R1D2 (doing a reboot of the Linux machine inbetween). [Bug 1924823] Re: ESP on install medium automatically configured as ESP for install, failing install
I just noticed #21 and have the prior daily running with an updated `ubiquity`... and noticed the following on drawing of the ubiquity dialog. It appears some text is drawn but then overwritten by the sda1 map (green bar on the picture)... If this is the message that @juliank says I should have seen, I'd not noticed it before, but I believe I noticed text written just prior the the sda1 green line appearing.. This could be the reason why @juliank says to note a message, but it's not appearing clearly on the screen at all (I'd not noticed it before; it was only there a flash as the screen drew) It appears to have a yellow (or red?, orange? brown?) circle before the line of text - but I can only guess. Refer https://photos.app.goo.gl/JWwQmn314JzC9fzVA You might notice edges of it are slightly visible underneath the green bar IF you study it... Bravo and many thanks all! The initial hypothesis is that the issue happens only when users specify more number of events than the available counters, which Perf will time-multiplex the events onto the counters. Looking at the Perf and AMD IOMMU PMU multiplexing logic, it requires: 1. Stop the counter (i.e. set CSOURCE to zero to stop counting) 2. Save the counter value of the current event 3. Reload the counter value of the new event (previously saved) 4. Start the counter (i.e. set CSOURCE to count new events) The problem here is that when the driver writes zero to CSOURCE register in step 1, this would enable power-gating, which prevents access to the counter and result in writing/reading value in step 2 and 3. I have found a system that reproduced this case (w/ unusually large number of count), and debug the issue further. As a hack, I have tried skipping step 1, and it seems to eliminate this issue. However, this is logically incorrect, and might result in inaccurate data depending on the events. Here are the options: 1. Continue to look for workaround for this issue. 2. Find a way to disable event time-multiplexing (e.g. only limit the number of counters to 8) if power gating is enabled on the platform. 3. Back to the original logic where we had the pre-init check of the counter vlues, which is still the safest choice at the moment unless Regards, Suravee -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1917203 Title: AMD-Vi: Unable to read/write to IOMMU perf counter To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1917203/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem. 2. The behavior you expected. 3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Please also ensure that you include the release and flavour of Ubuntu that you are using. Thank you! ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1924184 Title: drive not showing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1924184/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1925152] [NEW] firefox not responsive when typing in address bar or web based search box
Public bug reported: Firefox 87 by Ubuntu in plasma Wayland 21.04 is not responsive when typing in the address bar or text boxes. I am trying to type a URL in the address bar or text for searching. I will only let me type 2 or 3 characters of text then it seems to lock up. Can't even select text with a mouse. I think it is doing this in the background but doesn't display on screen as me doing anything. I don't have this issue with the Firefox which I downloaded directly from Mozilla. Furthermore, I just unzip the file and run the Firefox bin file. If I run Ubuntu Firefox in x11 I don't have these issues. [Bug 1921105] Re: SRU: backport cvise to 18.04 LTS, 20.04 LTS and 20.10
updated description. ** Description changed: A follow-up to LP: #1895971, now backporting cvise 2.3. Not planning any further backports. cvise is a test case reduction tool used to reduce test cases for compiler issues. It's not yet available in the LTS release. Having it available in the same release as the compilers that you are debugging/using makes the test case reduction easier. Also needed is the dependency python-pebble. - Regression potential: None, as these are new packages. + Regression potential: Maybe, but the testsuite of the package should be + good enough to provide the confidence to update. It's a tool for + debugging compilers, and reducing test case, so the affected target + audience should be minimal. Validation: the test suite succeeds during the build. ** Changed in: cvise (Ubuntu Bionic) Status: Incomplete => New ** Changed in: cvise (Ubuntu Focal) Status: Incomplete => New ** Changed in: cvise (Ubuntu Groovy) Status: Incomplete => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1921105 Title: SRU: backport cvise to 18.04 LTS, 20.04 LTS and 20.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cvise/+bug/1921105/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
