[Bug 1920808] Re: ubuntu-20.04.2 for raspberry, updating and installing errors
The workaround described only works only once, but not any more after boot. The reason is the missing service 'chrony' since the service 'ntp' isn't longer supported by timedatectl. So the problem can be solved with: $ sudo apt-get install chrony $ sudo timedatectl set-ntp true The option 'set-ntp' is quite irritating, but works with chrony. ** Package changed: ubuntu => chrony (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1920808 Title: ubuntu-20.04.2 for raspberry, updating and installing errors To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chrony/+bug/1920808/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi again, I have reopened this issue. It is not fixed in mainline 5.11.0, 5.11.7 or 5.11.10. I think I was using your kernel and mixed up the version numbers when I sent the message in #34. [Bug 1918410] Re: isc-dhcp-client denied by apparmor
Denying /proc/1095210/task/1095213/comm prevents the task from introspecting (reading), and changing (write) the command text associated with the task. In this case it would appear one thread is attempting to change the comm of another thread in the process (this is generally allowed), see man 5 proc Reading isn't considered a problem, writing is more interesting. A process may use it to provide more info, like this is a sandbox thread, renderer etc. But a compromised task could also use it to masquerade its comm as another task. It won't hide the task but could make it harder to kill or monitor if the user is looking for the default comm value. Denying this is not directly related to lack of IPv4 (kernel wise it has no relation), but application behavior could be such that when it fails to access the comm field it handles the error poorly resulting in it failing to setup IPv4. I would recommend a modification to the above rule, changing [0-9]* to @{pids} @{PROC}/@{pids}/task/[0-9]*/comm rw, Does adding the above rule fix the IPv4 issue for you? From comment #3 I assume no, but maybe I am reading it wrong. Are there any other denials in your logs? As for disabling AppArmor for dhclient? It is precisely the the type of service (network facing root service) I would not recommend disabling the apparmor profile for. Instead updating the profile is the way to go. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1918410 Title: isc-dhcp-client denied by apparmor To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/isc-dhcp/+bug/1918410/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1876716] Re: Error transferring track: "could not open resource for writing" when copying tracks to library
Hello, I am using Rhythmbox 3.4.3-2 on debian 10 and this bug is a real problem when it comes to import tracks from a cd where the names of said tracks can not be found one the internet. All tracks are named the same ("Inconnu" in french, probably "unknown" in english) and it triggers the bug while reachinf the second track. [Bug 1919425] Re: System freeze
As an update, it's now been roughly a week with no freezes or crashes for me. I have not changed my usage pattern: same dock, same external display, devices, etc., and same applications used. I did change one thing however. When I was switching again to the linux-image- oem-20.04-edge I decided to reinstall it just to be sure. I spotted a post-install warning I didn't notice previously: update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-5.10.0-1016-oem W: Possible missing firmware /lib/firmware/i915/tgl_huc_7.5.0.bin for module i915 W: Possible missing firmware /lib/firmware/i915/tgl_huc_7.5.0.bin for module i915 I indeed did not have tgl_huc_7.5.0.bin on my machine, despite having linux-firmware installed. It did not seem available in any installable package, so I decided to grab this one file from a newer debian package (it was added upstream a few months back) and reinstalled again with it in place. There was no update-initramfs warning this time, and I haven't had a freeze since. It could be a coincidence of course, but maybe the kernel/firmware relationship is related. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1919425 Title: System freeze To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-oem-5.6/+bug/1919425/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1921587] [NEW] Login screen language is same as last used application
Public bug reported: When the screen locks, the keyboard language will be the same as the last used application. To reproduce: 1. Ensure that at least two keyboard layouts are added. 2. Tick the "allow different sources for each window" option in the input sources selection configuration. 3. Start an application and switch keyboard layout using the chosen hot key combination. 4. Wait until the screen locks. The login screen will now use the keyboard layout of the selected application. Furthermore, the hot-key combination to switch keyboard layout only works partly when the screen is locked. This is annoying since the keys will now be in the wrong place for typing the password, and it is necessary to use the mouse to get the correct layout. To fix this, the login screen should reset the keyboard language to the default one when it locks the screen. [Bug 1921589] [NEW] Update to latest version suggests removing phpmyadmin
Public bug reported: I have Ubuntu 21.10. The current version of php7.4-cli is 7.4.11-1ubuntu4. The `apt update` is suggesting an update to php7.4-cli version 7.4.16-1ubuntu2. However, it is suggesting to remove `phpmyadmin`. The phpmyadmin version is 4:4.9.7+dfsg1-1. The update of php7.4 from 7.4.11-1ubuntu4 to 7.4.16-1ubuntu2 does not cause any such issue! Note: this is not just with php7.4-cli, but with php7.4-common, php7.4-curl, php7.4-gd, php7.4-json, php7.4-mysql and a few more! ** Affects: php-defaults (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1921589 Title: Update to latest version suggests removing phpmyadmin To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php-defaults/+bug/1921589/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1898949] Re: ThinkBook 14-IIL can't wake from sleep by opening lid
Hello! I'm happy that I found a workaround of dsdt patch for this bug. But I'm very sorry. I do this workaround at my fedora 34 beta with linux 5.11.9. I hope it's possible to apply it in ubuntu. So, I run cat /proc/acpi/wakeup command. Here is the output: Device S-state Status Sysfs node XHC S4*enabled pci::00:14.0 XDCI S4*disabled HDAS S4*disabled pci::00:1f.3 RP01 S4*enabled pci::00:1c.0 PXSX S4*disabled RP02 S4*disabled PXSX S4*disabled RP03 S4*disabled PXSX S4*disabled RP04 S4*disabled PXSX S4*disabled RP05 S4*enabled pci::00:1c.4 PXSX S4*disabled pci::02:00.0 RP06 S4*disabled PXSX S4*disabled RP07 S4*disabled PXSX S4*disabled RP08 S4*disabled PXSX S4*disabled RP09 S5*enabled pci::00:1d.0 PXSX S4*disabled pci::03:00.0 RP10 S4*disabled PXSX S4*disabled RP11 S4*enabled pci::00:1d.2 PXSX S4*disabled pci::04:00.0 *disabled platform:rtsx_pci_sdmmc.0 RP12 S4*disabled PXSX S4*disabled RP13 S4*enabled pci::00:1d.4 PXSX S4*disabled pci::05:00.0 RP14 S4*disabled PXSX S4*disabled RP15 S4*disabled PXSX S4*disabled RP16 S4*disabled PXSX S4*disabled RP17 S4*disabled PXSX S4*disabled RP18 S4*disabled PXSX S4*disabled RP19 S4*disabled PXSX S4*disabled RP20 S4*disabled PXSX S4*disabled RP21 S4*disabled PXSX S4*disabled RP22 S4*disabled PXSX S4*disabled RP23 S4*disabled PXSX S4*disabled RP24 S4*disabled PXSX S4*disabled CNVW S4*disabled pci::00:14.3 TXHC S4*enabled pci::00:0d.0 TDM0 S4*disabled TDM1 S4*disabled TRP0 S4*disabled PXSX S4*disabled TRP1 S4*disabled PXSX S4*disabled TRP2 S4*disabled PXSX S4*disabled TRP3 S4*disabled PXSX S4*disabled AWAC S4*enabled platform:ACPI000E:00 As you can see there is no LID0 listed. So, I dump the DSDT using this command: cat /sys/firmware/acpi/tables/DSDT > dsdt.aml Decompile it using this command: iasl -d dsdt.aml Open the decompiled file using your favorite text editor. Find AWAC device and then find _PRW method in AWAC device bracket. Here is _PRW method that I found: Method (_PRW, 0, NotSerialized) // _PRW: Power Resources for Wake { Return (GPRW (0x72, 0x04)) } Copy the method. Find LID0 device and paste the _PRW method in LID0 device bracket. Compile it using this command: iasl -ve -tc dsdt.dsl And pack it using this command: mkdir -p kernel/firmware/acpi cp dsdt.aml kernel/firmware/acpi find kernel | cpio -H newc --create > acpi_override cp acpi_override /boot use the acpi_override to boot as initrd. And here is the new output of cat /proc/acpi/wakeup command. [Bug 1921592] [NEW] Software app - snap interfaces management, under hood
Public bug reported: GNOME guys kindly informed me it is Ubuntu Software app team where Software app got snap support, hence my point raised here. Ubuntu 20.04 with all updates installed, Firefox snap of latest stable released version. Gnome makers stress it was Ubuntu where Software app got snap support. GNOME Software app > Firefox snap > Permissions > User your camera > ON at the same time: (I can't get proper text presentation/formatting, sorry) $ snap connections firefox Interface Plug Slot Notes camera firefox:camera :camera manual Let's change this setting as next: GNOME Software app > Firefox snap > Permissions > User your camera > OFF at the same time: $ snap connections firefox Interface Plug Slot Notes camera firefox:camera - Similar behavior for Avahi interface (I guess all remaining too) - slot side gets manipulated. Actually setting in GUI is placed in Firefox snap. It doesn't seem to be reasonable for engine under hood to manipulate interface slot-side. Interface slot-side is under control of other snap or resource controller not the Firefox snap. Reasonable would be rather to modify plug-side on changes of shown app snap setting. ** Affects: gnome-software (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1921592 Title: Software app - snap interfaces management, under hood To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-software/+bug/1921592/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1921594] [NEW] zfsutils-linux misspells zfs-zed recommendation
Public bug reported: Since the version 2.0.2 imports of zfs-linux, the zfsutils-linux package contains a misspelling in its recommended dependency on zfs-zed, which is spelled instead as "fs-zed". Debian has since imported Ubuntu changes into the control.ubuntu file upstream, without the typo, but the most recent 2.0.2-1ubuntu4 still has this error.
