[Bug 1886148] Re: failure to boot groovy daily
Cloned Groovy USB drives boot again, at least in some of my computers :-) + I tested in my Dell Precision M4800 and it works as usual in UEFI mode (and via grub) in BIOS mode. - But the Lenovo V130 does not boot in UEFI mode and secure boot - When I select the USB drive from the temporary menu, it skips to the internal drive. I never had the python error above, but ever since I reverted to a snapshot for the first time I do get the ERROR: Could not statfs: No such file or directory. [Bug 1886912] Re: DELL M3800 Touchscreen not working after login
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1886912/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1886809] Re: Pulse connect VPN exists because unwanted avahi network starts
This is a ubuntu desktop. A corporate laptop. > cat /etc/network/interfaces # interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8) auto lo iface lo inet loopback > cat /etc/network/interfaces.d/* fish: No matches for wildcard “/etc/network/interfaces.d/*”. See `help expand`. cat /etc/network/interfaces.d/* ^ > cat /etc/netplan/* # Let NetworkManager manage all devices on this system network: version: 2 renderer: NetworkManager As you can see this is network-manager based settings. Pulsesecure is a sort of java browser based application. Since it is a proprietary application, I'm not sure how it runs internally, but it does some basic checkings into your system to allow the connection, and establishes it. It changes all routes to use the VPN as default. Any attempt to change is detect and it considers an attempt to tamper with system, which results in connection drop. That's where the avahi causes the problem. One extra info: I set the avahi to disable on /etc/default/avahi-daemon. > cat /etc/default/avahi-daemon # 1 = Try to detect unicast dns servers that serve .local and disable avahi in # that case, 0 = Don't try to detect .local unicast dns servers, can cause # troubles on misconfigured networks AVAHI_DAEMON_DETECT_LOCAL=0 So even a patch o top of avahi-autoipd that reads this parameter can be enough to avoid this unwanted route to pop up. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1886809 Title: Pulse connect VPN exists because unwanted avahi network starts To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/avahi/+bug/1886809/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1886920] [NEW] Battery drain during sleep. System suspended before kernel suspends all tasks. Lenovo ThinkPad T460
Public bug reported: The same as https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1825636. kaihengfeng closed that one "Because there's no response from the original bug reporter." and asked to file a report for all devices affected, so here I am, duplicating the report. On Ubuntu MATE 18.04, as well as after the update to 20.04, the battery drains about 2% per hour of sleep (if I just close the lid). $ cat /sys/power/mem_sleep s2idle [deep] tlp was initially installed on my machine. However, this behaviour also occurs if I $ sudo apt purge tlp acpi-call-dkms && sudo reboot now also, it occurs when booting from a freshly made MATE 20.04 live usb stick, so TLP shouldn't be the culprit. All the log files look in all relevant aspects similar to what was reported in the old report. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users. If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed- bionic to verification-done-bionic. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification- failed-bionic. In either case, without details of your testing we will not be able to proceed. Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in advance for helping! N.B. [Bug 1886172] Re: high speed data to usb disk makes the kernel think that is has been unmounted
I have tested it 1) directly connected to two different computers and and with 2) a external hub with both these computers. All works in 4.15, but not now. The external hub has an extra power supply and can give up to 4 A for the charging only port. Hopefully it is limited to 2 A per port by design for normal use. The drive's enclosure itself is designed for 2 A, i.e. single connector. High speed requires more power, but the speed can be that for 45 to 60 minutes. @Kai-Heng, unfortunately that latest kernel you compiled has not solved it, touchpad is dead with both a cold boot and restart. Is there a way of running the following: sudo rmmod i2c_hid sudo modprobe i2c_hid automatically at boot? Apologies if this is what you were trying to do all this time.
