[Bug 1874626] [NEW] dav path not complete

2020-04-24 Thread AdlerHorst
Public bug reported:

If I open this kind of path (Nextcloud):
davs://{SERVER}/remote.php/dav/files/{USER@DOMAIN}

Nautilus shows me the correct directory but setup the rootpath to
davs://{SERVER}/remote.php/dav/

The Problem is, that I'n not able to use the mounted path for anything
because I'm not able to navigate into the directory /files/

Please change behavior that way that if I enter a directory path to open
a path, it should be set as the route of the Mount in whole.

[Bug 1869819] Re: [SRU] System can't detect external headset in the codec of Conexant

2020-04-24 Thread Łukasz Zemczak
Hello hugh, or anyone else affected,

Accepted pulseaudio into bionic-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/1:11.1-1ubuntu7.6 in a
few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been
performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed-
bionic to verification-done-bionic. If it does not fix the bug for you,
please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-
failed-bionic. In either case, without details of your testing we will
not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

[Bug 1874583] Re: Setting fractional scaling beyond 125% causes segfault

2020-04-24 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To
help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps:

1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run:
ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash
Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug.

2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where
ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine.
Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please
send the links to us.

3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921,
reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1.

Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are
unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security
risk for yourself.

[Bug 42926] Re: Too many fonts are included in the default install

2020-04-24 Thread Pawel Kraszewski
4 years later still an issue. Just my 3 cents: perhaps move font
dependencies from `*-desktop` metapackages to correct `language-pack-*`
packages? You already have some suitable intermediate metapackages, like
`fonts-indic` or `fonts-lao`, just create such sets for, say, `fonts-
cyryllic`, `fonts-japanese`, etc.

For me there's not much difference in understanding if
Chinese/Japanese/Hindu/Arab/Georgian/Korean/Kannada/Lao/* text renders
as box-placeholders or as a correct font. I don't understand a word in
either case.

It is not that I am missing disk space or net bandwidth, it is just my
eyes bleeding on each font-selection dialog until I do a clean-up.

situation here. So as I understand it correctly, users running bionic

[Bug 1874195] Re: ansible is not able to install packages via apt on 20.04

2020-04-24 Thread Nafallo Bjälevik
Alright. The Ansible module is mostly using the python3-apt bindings
directly, so I would suggest debugging APT first rather than adding the
whole Ansible stack on top in your debugging :-).

2020-04-24 Thread Frank Heimes
Well, packages of Ubuntu releases that are already rolled out usually don't get
version upgrades (release date of 20.04 was yesterday - April 23rd).
Are you interested in particular fixes that come with this new release? And if
so can you specify their commit IDs so that they might be cherry-picked instead?

[Bug 1871182] Re: [RTL810xE] No ethernet connection

2020-04-24 Thread Michael Born
For me the problem is not fixed.
See my report here: https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2441385

It seems the PHY for my Realtek ethernet chip is not activated in the boot up
process.
I have to locally log in and enter "dhclient enp2s0" to get the interface
running. Only then the "PHY" shows up in the log:

[Bug 1874639] [NEW] desktop pcs start to suspend by default

2020-04-24 Thread Darko Veberic
Public bug reported:

after the kernel upgrade our office desktops started to suspend after
inactivity and with users logged out. this is rather unacceptable since
we also use the pcs to run computational jobs. i tried to prevent the
suspension via systemctl but the sleep.target, suspend.target,
hibernate.target, and hybrid-sleep.target don't exist anyway...

how to prevent this from happening?

[Bug 1872796] Re: gnome-shell animations are noticeably stuttery when the Ubuntu extensions are enabled

2020-04-24 Thread Carlos Pita
I've been doing some testing and disabling panel self refresh (PSR) on
the Intel driver seems to help quite a lot with frame dropping in X11,
this is a known fact for the Matebook Pro, at least for Windows. Still
not perfect, still a bit of stuttering, but an improvement anyway.

[Bug 1874646] Re: Update libvpd package to v2.2.7

2020-04-24 Thread Frank Heimes
Well, packages of Ubuntu releases that are already rolled out usually don't get
version upgrades (release date of 20.04 was yesterday - April 23rd).
Are you interested in particular fixes that come with this new release? And if
so can you specify their commit IDs so that they might be cherry-picked instead?

[Bug 1874647] [NEW] [Ubuntu 20.04] Stale libvirt cache leads to VM startup failures

2020-04-24 Thread bugproxy
Public bug reported:

Stale libvirt cache leads to VM startup failures

Contact Information = Viktor Mihajlovski

---Additional Hardware Info---
Z15 with IBM Secute Execution

---uname output---
Linux linux02 5.4.0-21-generic #25-Ubuntu SMP Sat Mar 28 13:10:00 UTC 2020
s390x s390x s390x GNU/Linux

Machine Type = 8562 (IBM Z15)

---Debugger---
A debugger is not configured

---Steps to Reproduce---
1. Install Ubuntu 20.04 in the LPAR
2. Modify the host kernel command line in /etc/zipl.conf to include
prot_virt=1, run zipl and reboot.
3. Define at least one KVM guest with host CPU model and start and stop it
4. Define a secure KVM guest using the host CPU model and start and stop it.
5. Change back the host kernel command line, re-run zipl, reboot.
6. Try to start the first KVM guest, which fails with a message like:
error: internal error: qemu unexpectedly closed the monitor:
2020-04-23T13:55:30.889152Z qemu-system-s390x: Some features requested in the
CPU model are not available in the configuration: unpack

The reason for that is that libvirt caches the domaincapabilities
reported during the first boot and doesn't update them after the reboot
in step 5 even though changing the prot_virt= in the command line
changes the CPU features as reported by domcapabilities. So even though
the guest may not require the unpack feature, libvirt constructs a CPU
model which can't be satisfied on this configuration.

The issue also occurs the other way around, going from prot_virt=0 to
prot_virt=1, in which case the guest will fail to boot as it requires
the unpack feature.

Manually removing the content of /var/cache/libvirt/qemu/capabilities/
will force libvirt to refresh it's capabilities cache and temporarily
resolve the situation.

[Bug 1873658] Re: Deb Files are not associated with an application that manages packages

2020-04-24 Thread Iain Lane
We discussed this a bit amongst the release team, and there was a
concern that this might not work properly for flavours - which I think
that Ken believes is fine, but it would be good to actually verify
explicitly.

So please could you flesh out the description to fit the SRU template,
and add a test case which makes sure to check all of these mime types
for flavours which still seed gnome-software (e.g. boot live session,
install -proposed update, try to open each of those mime types).

2020-04-24 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

[Bug 1874362] Re: xenial/man8/update-smart-drivedb.8.html incorrect

2020-04-24 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
There were several issues with the tool to download unauthenticated data and
such.
So it was removed in 6.4+svn4214-1 which is the one in Xenial and Bionic.

It was later introduced in an improved form in 7.0-1 therefore the
latest LTS release of ubuntu Focal is good.

[Bug 1845046] Re: Bluetooth headphones default to low quality headset mode and fail to switch to A2DP when selected

2020-04-24 Thread Grzegorz Bizon
The fix works for me! Thank you very much for fixing this bug, really
appreciated!

It appears that dependencies of the new Bluez packages are also
compatible with Debian GNU/Linux. Since I use Debian, I confirm that
installing fixed Ubuntu package on Debian 11 (testing right now) also
fixes the problem.

Thank you again for fixing this <3

Yes, it is specific to the import function. If I enter details manually,

[Bug 1874655] [NEW] After suspend / resume, WiFi does not reconnect automatically to an hidden access point

2020-04-24 Thread Alan AZZERA
Public bug reported:

After letting my laptop go to sleep, the WiFi does not reconnect anymore
to an hidden access point. I must go to the WiFi settings window, then
go to the menu where hidden networks are... hidden, and force Network
Manager to connect to the hidden AP. Note that I don't have any problem
on boot. Just when resuming for suspend mode.

This is a rather recent issue, which I never encountered before these
past months. I cannot qualify exactly the time where the bug occurred.
