[Bug 1713615] Re: ttf-mscorefonts-installer fails because Redirection from https to http is forbidden

2019-04-28 Thread Graham Inggs
I tried:

/usr/lib/apt/apt-helper download-file
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/corefonts/andale32.exe andale32.exe

Yesterday it worked several times in a row, today it has failed several
times in a row. I agree this depends on which mirrors you hit.
Previously, I got it to work by switching my internet connection from
fixed line to 3G.

Notice the error:
E: Failed to fetch https://tenet.dl.sourceforge.net/project/corefonts/the
fonts/final/andale32.exe
The directory name 'the fonts' contains a space, which was the bug fixed in LP:
#1651923
Is that bug fixed for all conditions?

[Bug 1826710] [NEW] Terminology: Window disappears when enabling translucency

2019-04-28 Thread Reto Vit
Public bug reported:

I've installed the terminology terminal emulator on bionic which comes in
version 0.9.1-1. This release seems to have problems with the translucency
(upon enabling the window disappears completely) feature and also, the option
for syncing keyboard input to all panes is missing. Terminology would be
available in version 1.4.0 now, and both features seem fine in a later version
that I've tested on freebsd.
Would it be possible to release a new version of this package?

2019-04-28 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package nginx - 1.15.12-0ubuntu1

---
nginx (1.15.12-0ubuntu1) eoan; urgency=medium

  * New upstream release (1.15.12) - full changelog available from
http://nginx.org/en/CHANGES
  * Remaining Ubuntu-specific changes:
- debian/patches/ubuntu-branding.patch: add Ubuntu branding (refreshed)
- d/{control,rules,nginx-core.*}: add new binary package for main,
  nginx-core, which contains only source-tarball-included modules
  and no third-party modules.
- debian/tests/control: add nginx-core test.
- debian/apport/source_nginx.py: Add apport hooks for additional bug
  information gathering.
- debian/nginx-common.install: Add install rule for apport hooks.
- d/nginx-{core,light,full,extras}.postinst: Add checks for whether
  port 80 is in use or not to determine whether or not to attempt
  starting of the NGINX service during install/upgrade

  flavors
  * Add GeoIP2 third party module to nginx-full and nginx-extras
(LP: #1825895). The following is the files list for this:

  rules.
- d/modules/http-geoip2{,/*}: Add geoip2 module from third party git.
- d/copyright: Add relevant copyright lines for GeoIP2 module.

[Bug 1826716] [NEW] Include Sunix serial/parallel driver

2019-04-28 Thread Kai-Heng Feng
Public bug reported:

[Impact]
We shipped several platform with sunix device, which is enabled by sunix
DKMS driver.
We should use in-tree driver instead.

[Fix]
Include not-yet-merged sunix driver:
https://lore.kernel.org/lkml/20190319120723.3691-1-sau...@gmail.com/

[Test]
Use command `inputattach` to test serial mouse connected to the Sunix
board. The mouse works correctly.

[Regression Potential]
Low. It's a new driver so the regression potential is minimal.

[Bug 1825993] Re: iwlwifi microcode error detected using hostapd with Intel 3168 in a NUC6CAYH

2019-04-28 Thread Stefan Söffing
I experienced this bug as well after update to Ubuntu 19.04.

Tried newest firmware -29 (and also -27, -22) which does not work
either. Tried to go back to -21, but this seems to be no longer
supported by the driver.

What seems to help for me is to set bt_coex_active=0, maybe you want to
try that as well.

If you file a bug on kernel.org, please post a link over here for
reference. Thanks!

[Bug 1705369] Re: Ubuntu 17.10/18.04 boots to black screen when using Nvidia drivers (on a desktop with an Intel GPU)

2019-04-28 Thread Marian Hello
I had same problem when disabled integrated card in bios. Found issue
report in gdm3 https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gdm/issues/332. Issue
description has link back to launchpad
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1716857.

Workaround mentioned in both reports - to change line in gdm.service to
ExecStartPre=/usr/bin/xinit /usr/share/gdm/generate-config works for me.

I haven't had that issue for a while, since kernel 4.20, I think, but I
just had this issue again, on up to date 19.04 with kernel 5.0.0-13:

Then the USB hub died while DP over Thunderbolt monitors continue to
work.

Firmware versions:
Precision M5520 Thunderbolt Controller: 26.01
Dell Thunderbolt Dock: 16.00
Precision 5520 System Firmware: 0.1.13.0

This has happened a few times already - as I was writing up this report
- and I worked around them by either power cycling the dock (pulling the
power cable - the power button on the dock powers down the laptop), or
running the XHCI reset script I'm pasting below.

Regarding other workarounds - at no point did I boot to MS-Windows (or
at least not in the last half a year).

This is the XHCI reset script I'm using - it lists XHCI devices and runs
the unbind-rebind process specified in the original bug report. The next
step would be a SystemD service that monitors the kernel log for the
"xHCI assume dead" line and triggers the rebind automatically :-/

```
#!/bin/bash
tbtid="$(ls /sys/bus/pci/drivers/xhci_hcd/ | grep '[0-9]')"
echo "Resetting thunderbolt bus">&2
for id in $tbtid; do
  echo -n $id > /sys/bus/pci/drivers/xhci_hcd/unbind
done
sleep 1
for id in $tbtid; do
  echo -n $id > /sys/bus/pci/drivers/xhci_hcd/bind
done
echo "Done resetting thunderbolt bus">&2
```

[Bug 1776563] Re: Acer Aspire A315 IOAPIC failure on Ubuntu 18.04, kernel hangs, can't load, kernel freeze (AMD Ryzen 5/Radeon/Raven) / AMDGPU Hybrid crash

2019-04-28 Thread you
So to be clear. AT THIS DAY, there is still no fix for the A315-41
(without the G!!).

My config (the best result from all my tests) :
- A315-41 Ryzen5 2500U 8 cores 3600mhz
- Linux ubuntu 18.04.2
- bios 1.11 configured (I didnt go to 1.13 while it seems worst on A315-41
series...)
- 4.20 kernel
- ivrs args (rcu_nocbs=0-7 ivrs_ioapic[4]=00:14.0 ivrs_ioapic[5]=00:00.2)

it's usable with theses conditions (rarely freeze,all is working,11 ACPI
tables loaded & few ACPI BIOS Errors in dmesg) but the main problem is
the shitty battery drain (since day 1). (1h30 on linux, 3h on windows)
even with low cpu usage (I can reach 3200mhz on stress tests):

cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep MHz
cpu MHz : 1334.217
cpu MHz : 1275.689
cpu MHz : 1282.695
cpu MHz : 1278.429
cpu MHz : 1328.024
cpu MHz : 1300.042
cpu MHz : 1480.938
cpu MHz : 1642.668

I'm using it everyday since months... never far away from my battery charger

[Bug 1826691] Re: fwupd hangs after 19.04 upgrade from 18.10

2019-04-28 Thread Mario Limonciello
This is a bug in the amdgpu kernel module.
When trying to access the DP aux channel it is causing system hangs.

At least in upstream fwupd there is a recently committed workaround:
https://github.com/hughsie/fwupd/commit/57816a7907e5f56c2136af31a4f1ae5186d87565

For now you can do the following:
1. Blacklist synapticsmst plugin in fwupd in /etc/fwupd/daemon.conf
Or
2. Try a newer kernel (like 5.x)
Or
3. Backport that patch from fwupd

[Bug 1778322] Re: gvfs-smb-browse can't browse samba/smb tree

2019-04-28 Thread Morbius1
There is an issue with this fix that makes it impossible to access a
Windows 10 machine that has disabled SMB1 ( NT1 ):

smb-network: g_vfs_backend_smb_browse_init: default workgroup = 'NULL'
smb-network: Added new job source 0x55ebe2dd53d0 (GVfsBackendSmbBrowse)
smb-network: Queued new job 0x55ebe2ddf700 (GVfsJobMount)
smb-network: Error resolving “vwin10”: Temporary failure in name resolution
smb-network: Forcing NT1 protocol version
smb-network: do_mount - URI = smb://vwin10
smb-network: do_mount - try #0
smb-network: looking up cached server 'vwin10'\'IPC$', user 'WORKGROUP';'tester'
smb-network:   returning (nil)
smb-network: auth_callback - anonymous pass
smb-network: auth_callback - out: last_user = 'tester', last_domain =
'WORKGROUP'
smb-network: looking up cached server 'vwin10'\'IPC$', user 'WORKGROUP';'tester'
smb-network:   returning (nil)
smb-network: looking up cached server 'vwin10'\'IPC$', user 'WORKGROUP';'tester'
smb-network:   returning (nil)
smb-network: auth_callback - anonymous pass
smb-network: auth_callback - out: last_user = 'tester', last_domain =
'WORKGROUP'
smb-network: looking up cached server 'vwin10'\'IPC$', user 'WORKGROUP';'tester'
smb-network:   returning (nil)
smb-network: do_mount - [smb://vwin10; 0] dir = (nil), cancelled = 0, errno =
[102] 'Network dropped connection on reset'
smb-network: do_mount - (errno != EPERM && errno != EACCES), cancelled = 0,
breaking
smb-network: send_reply(0x55ebe2ddf700), failed=1 (Failed to retrieve share
list from server: Network dropped connection on reset)

My interpretation of the results:

** Despite SMBv1 being disabled on the server end of Win10 it will still
broadcast its NetBIOS name to the rest if the network.

** With this fix the Linux client will correctly discover the Win10 box.

** But it is now in the NT1 ( SMBv1 ) state when it tries to access
Win10 and Win10 no longer understands SMBv1.

Win10 does not prompt for credentials and no negotiation of which smb
protocol to use takes place so access is denied.

I have two choices at this point if I still want to use a gvfs ( gio )
mount:

[1] I can circumvent gvfsd-smb-browse and use Connect to Server to
connect to the Win10 machine explicitly.

[2] I can enable SMBv1 on the server end of Win10 and then everything
works.

[Bug 1826735] [NEW] .uuid files in font directories not removed during purge

2019-04-28 Thread Tom Reynolds
Public bug reported:

On Ubuntu 19.04 (amd64):

Removing fonts-liberation2 (2.00.5-1) ...
dpkg: warning: while removing fonts-liberation2, directory
'/usr/share/fonts/truetype/liberation2' not empty so not removed
Removing fonts-opensymbol (2:102.10+LibO6.2.2-0ubuntu2) ...
dpkg: warning: while removing fonts-opensymbol, directory
'/usr/share/fonts/truetype/openoffice' not empty so not removed

ls -a against these directories shows there's still .uuid files in there
which dpkg -S is unaware of.

[Bug 1826739] [NEW] Adobe flash player does not work correctly on Ubuntu 19.04 Disk

2019-04-28 Thread Edson José dos Santos
Public bug reported:

Hello Personal

The Adobe flash player plugins and pepper flash plugin-nonfree does not
work properly on Ubuntu 19.04 Disk, in Opera and Google Chrome browsers,
where there is a failure to execute the plugins, even if they are
allowed. This occurs only in Ubuntu 19.04 (!) The other distros continue
to function normally. Could not adobe plugins be placed in the Ubuntu
Software store to make life easier for the novice or regular user? See
attachments

Thanks

[Bug 1590799] Re: nfs-kernel-server does not start because of dependency failure

2019-04-28 Thread Maarten Jacobs
This issue just popped up for me after upgrading from 14.04 to 16.04.6.

Per comments #20 and #25, I changed nfs-mountd.service to include
rpcbind.service to the Wants and After statements:

Wants=nfs-config.service rpcbind.service
After=nfs-config.service rpcbind.service

I also added BindsTo and Wants statements to nfs-server.service:

BindsTo=rpcbind.service
After=rpcbind.service

On a reboot, nfs-server service ran as expected.

[Bug 1722256] Re: Wifi connection status icon shows a "?" question mark when connected

2019-04-28 Thread Farzad Aqajani
I recently realized that the problem with the Wi-Fi icon will be resolved by
adding a VPN configuration from Network Settings and connecting to it.
After that, the problem will be fixed forever. Even without connecting to the
VPN.
Also, after logging off, the problem will not come back.
But restarting and shutting down the system will bring the problem back.

[Bug 1826691] Re: fwupd hangs after 19.04 upgrade from 18.10

2019-04-28 Thread Jason Pritchard
Thank you very much. I think I can live with the first option. I'll look
more into the implications, but it seems to be better than not having
the process running at all.

Not sure if I need to do anything to close this.

> 1. Blacklist synapticsmst plugin in fwupd in /etc/fwupd/daemon.conf

This seems to help. I reinstalled the fwupd package and added
synapticsmst to the blacklist. Now I get responses back from the
fwupdmgr command. It also responds to systemctl start/stop.

> 2. Try a newer kernel (like 5.x)

19.04 is running 5.0.

$ uname -rmv
5.0.0-13-generic #14-Ubuntu SMP Mon Apr 15 14:59:14 UTC 2019 x86_64

> 3. Backport that patch from fwupd

I tried pulling the repo and building the latest 1.2.8 tag, but I didn't
make it very far into the build. I'm not very familiar with ninja, so
I'll have to see if I can figure out why it's failing. If I get it all
the way through, I'll see if this works without the blacklisting.

think if it works when you disable the touchpad that's it for sure

[Bug 1826757] [NEW] libreoffice in 19.04 not responding on ODT, working on ODS

2019-04-28 Thread Christians
Public bug reported:

Libreoffice 6.2.2.2 20(Build:2) hangs on 19.04 with "Loading document.."
on ODTs, but not on ODSs. I had no issues on 18.10.

EXPECTED: ODT file opens

WHAT HAPPENS INSTEAD:
* blank LibreOffice 6.2 window opens with brief message "Loading document.."
* when closing the window by clicking on the X a selection box with "force
quit" appear. If I click on this right away the mouse freezes. After liberating
the mouse with CTRl-ALT-DEL I can click again on force quit and kill the window.
* The problem occurs even when the hidden lock file has been removed.

TROUBLESHOOTING
* Purging libreoffice, reboot, reinstall does not help.
* At first occurrence of the issue, and starting from terminal I got "failed to
read path from javaldx", was advised to install java*
*
https://askubuntu.com/questions/1138438/libreoffice-file-locking-issues-in-19-04-no-problems-in-18-10

WORKAROUND
Remove /home/myname/.config/libreoffice. But this only works for a short while,
and removing the directory must repeated over and over again.

[Bug 1826732] Re: package shim-signed 1.33.1~16.04.5+15+1533136590.3beb971-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 128

2019-04-28 Thread Steve Langasek
The dpkg log shows that you are in the process of upgrading shim-signed
and that you have DKMS modules installed. In order to continue using
DKMS kernel modules under the new Secure Boot policy, these modules must
be signed, and the key used to sign them must be enrolled in your
firmware.

The log shows that your kernel modules have been signed successfully,
but that the package could not prompt you for a password to use in
enrolling the key in your firmware.

Your bug report also shows that the updates were applied through
aptdaemon, which means that update-manager or another frontend should
have shown you a prompt for a password.

Were you shown this prompt? The prompt may unfortunately have been
English-only.

[Bug 1826761] [NEW] Unity window resize not working when dragging corners.

2019-04-28 Thread leibnix
Public bug reported:

I am writing a game using Unity, Ubuntu 16.04, and pygame.

I can make the pygame window resizable, but it only works when dragging
the edges of the window, not when dragging the corners.

Pygame does not seem to receive any event when dragging window corners,
although the window itself (as controlled by the window manager) is
resized.

[Bug 1826760] [NEW] case where you do need to use ifupdown instead of netplan

2019-04-28 Thread James No
Public bug reported:

I have use the following config in the past to provide redundancy in the
event that someone resets the router to factory defaults ... this is no
longer possible in netplan.

```
auto enp9s0
iface enp9s0 inet dhcp
auto enp9s0:s
iface enp9s0:s inet static
  address 192.168.4.2
  netmask 255.255.255.0
  gateway 192.168.4.1
  dns-nameservers 8.8.4.4 8.8.8.8
```

Specifically, I want to be able to configure 1x interface (only have one
physical eth on the box) to have both a static IP as well as be able to
accept a dynamic ip. This setup allows for remote troubleshooting to
continue in the even that someone resets the ip range of the local
network which would normally kill network connectivity with a static IP.

[Bug 1825219] Re: Acer Aspire Travelmate 5335 after opening lid black screen and freeze occurs

2019-04-28 Thread Emrah ÖZCAN
UPDATE

1) To clarify, is your computer set to suspend when you close the lid?

IT WAS SET TO "DO NOTHING" .

2) Did this issue start to happen with your Acer TravelMate 5335 after
an update? If so, which one precisely?

NO IT NEVER WORKED I REMEMBER

3) To see if this is already resolved in Ubuntu, could you please test
the latest x64 (not 32-bit) version of Ubuntu via
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ and advise to the results?

I TRIED ON LATEST OS BUT THERE'S NO OPTION AS " DO NOTHING " ON LID

[Bug 1795292] Re: ELAN469D touch pad not working

2019-04-28 Thread Brenno-flavio412
I have an Ideapad 330s 15ARR and can confirm this bug in Ubuntu 19.04.
The parameter ivrs_ioapic[32]=00:14.0 fix the problem. If any help is
needed to investigate and test this, I'm glad to do so.

Re: [Bug 1826053] Re: Notify send is unreadable

2019-04-28 Thread BertN45
No, at the moment I did the Ubuntu-bug, I did not remember the name of
the package, so I used the wrong package name.

However I did use notify-send to send a report of the boot time. See the
next script:

systemd-analyze | grep "=" | cut -c 20-80 | while read OUTPUT; do
notify-send -t 6000 "Boot: $OUTPUT"; done

and this display and the display of all notifications is garbled.

I do not see the same garbling when I install the system on the real
hardware,  so it might be related to interfacing with Virtualbox.

[Bug 1776563] Re: Acer Aspire A315 IOAPIC failure on Ubuntu 18.04, kernel hangs, can't load, kernel freeze (AMD Ryzen 5/Radeon/Raven) / AMDGPU Hybrid crash

2019-04-28 Thread Richard Baka
I have to undo everything. It seems to be the best options is still the
ivrs parameters. Not the i8042.nopnp causes the sleep problem but these
acpi_osi=! acpi_osi=\"Windows 2009\". This is what I use now:

i8042.nopnp ivrs_ioapic[4]=00:14.0 ivrs_ioapic[5]=0:00.2
