[Bug 1733557] Re: Login screen showing Authentication Failure Switch to greeter...

2019-01-18 Thread Krzysztof Ostaszewski
@c4pp4

How can I apply the patch? Or should I wait for it to be upstream and
available via apt upgrade? I am on Ubuntu 18.04 and 18.10 with same
multi-user problem.

[Bug 1809201] Re: lubuntu 19.04 two displays (different res.), firefox maximized uses only part of 2nd display

2019-01-18 Thread Chris Guiver
QA-test on x86_64 machine "hp 8200 elite sff (i5-2400, 8gb, nvidia
quadro 600)" and very similiar behavior so I won't create new bug-
report; I'm adding here.

Reporting another bug had me run `ubuntu-bug`.. which opened `firefox`
on 2nd monitor; it opened full width of monitor but occupied only about
1/8th of vertical position of monitor, meaning I could see only panel
[of firefox], tabs, url line but no real page ('ubuntu one' asking for
my login when window was expanded).

Clicking maximize (as toggle) would not maximize it, but switch between
a usual-window size & full-width-but-tiny-vertical. This strange
behavior occurs only on 2nd display!

I have two 1920x1080 resolution monitors (not differing resolutions),
positioned vertically (one above the other).

I've taken screendumps, but will add shortly as I'm typing this on
machine to right of box.

[Bug 1812342] [NEW] lubuntu 19.04 - pcmanfm-qt menu won't show on 2nd display

2019-01-18 Thread Chris Guiver
Public bug reported:

Lubuntu 19.04 QA-Test

hp 8200 elite sff (i5-2400, 8gb, nvidia quadro 600)

I have two monitors, both 1920x1080 in vertical arrangement (one above
the other)

If pcmanfm-qt is on primary monitor, it behaves as expected. If I click
a menu item (file, edit, view, go etc) the menu shows and functions.

If however the pcmanfm-qt is moved to the second monitor, the menu
doesn't show. I do however get a white line (a few pixels high I'd
guess) across both the top of 2nd monitor, and bottom of primary or
upper monitor. This pixel-behavior varies if you select
file/edit/view/go etc. If you click bookmarks/tool/help on pcmanfm-qt
it's small & white but full-width white for file/edit/view/go.

I can't take screendumps when menu shows, so haven't taken pictures of
the issue, but my setup before I click menu will be attached.

[Bug 1812150] Re: qhelpgenerator and qcollectiongenerator will not run

2019-01-18 Thread Dmitry Shachnev
> qtchooser could use a more informative error message, though.

I agree.

> Who maintains qtchooser? Is that you (Ubuntu)?

No, it is maintained here (not very actively, though):

https://code.qt.io/cgit/qtsdk/qtchooser.git/
https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/q/project:qtsdk/qtchooser,n,z

For Qt 6, we will try to get rid of qtchooser in favour of something
else. See the thread starting at:

https://lists.qt-
project.org/pipermail/development/2018-November/068691.html

qt5-default is our (Debian / Ubuntu) specific package, though.

> What's going to happen with the `qcollectiongenerator` shim with Qt
5.12?

With qt5-default installed (or QT_CONFIG=5), you will get exit code 1
and this message:

  qcollectiongenerator: could not exec
'/usr/lib/qt5/bin/qcollectiongenerator': No such file or directory

see prior comment please too

firefox window on 2nd (bottom) display maximized or fullscreen - it's at
top of bottom monitor, full width but using minimal real-estate. If the
maximize window button is clicked, the window toggles between this
position and what I consider normal 'window' position shown in prior
comment picture

[Bug 1812342] Re: lubuntu 19.04 - pcmanfm-qt menu won't show on 2nd display

2019-01-18 Thread Chris Guiver
-- I've copied the following from my QA-test comments; point is in 2nd
paragraph! --

..
my comments and issues are recorded on bug-reports. 1812342 is NEW, and 1809201
is a real problem. If the window is on primary-display there is no issue, but
I cannot select any menu item. I had no issues on `qterminal` or `quassel irc`
menu on 2nd display. To get menu to work I just had to move the window to
display0 (primary-display) but users wouldn't accept that.

When I positioned monitors left-right - i had NO ISSUES, only when
positioned vertically as I have on the boxes here, so this will only
affect weirdo's like me :(

[Bug 1772705] Re: IKEv2 VPN connections fail to use DNS servers provided by the server

2019-01-18 Thread Dmitry
Hello.
I can't install version with bugfix - 5.6.2-2ubuntu1 on Ubuntu 18.04. Because
it is absent in repository.

There are only such versions:

apt-show-versions -a strongswan
strongswan:all 5.6.2-1ubuntu2.4 install ok installed
strongswan:all 5.6.2-1ubuntu2 bionic ru.archive.ubuntu.com
strongswan:all 5.6.2-1ubuntu2.3 bionic-security security.ubuntu.com
strongswan:all 5.6.2-1ubuntu2.4 bionic-updates ru.archive.ubuntu.com
No stable version
strongswan:all/bionic-updates 5.6.2-1ubuntu2.4 uptodate

Could you please add 5.6.2-2ubuntu1 to the repository?

[Bug 1812352] [NEW] Handle the skip return code in kernel_selftests

2019-01-18 Thread Po-Hsu Lin
Public bug reported:

In the selftests tool, we are using a KSFT_SKIP=4 return code for those
skipped tests in the latest upstream kernel tree.

But the corresponding code to take care of this return value does not
exist in Bionic and Xenial kernel, this will cause the test still being
marked as failed:

selftests: test_user_copy.sh

user: module test_user_copy is not found [SKIP]
not ok 1..1 selftests: test_user_copy.sh [FAIL]

[Bug 1812356] [NEW] AlpsPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint vertical pointer speed is very low

2019-01-18 Thread govwin
Public bug reported:

While moving pointer (cursor) using Touchpad, vertical movement is very
slow and short (= less velocity and less acceleration compared to
horizontal axis). Horizontal movement is fine. So, when circle is drawn
on the Touchpad, the pointer moves in oval shape.

before moving the dock? When that happens, can you move the dock back to
the left and then open settings? If so what config is displayed in the
displays section?

[Bug 1804329] Re: lubuntu 19.04 daily - pcmanfm-qt moves window on opening device, folders or adjust size of windows (two displays, 2nd display only)

2019-01-18 Thread Chris Guiver
still on QA-test today on same "hp 8200 elite sff (i5-2400, 8gb, nvidia
quadro 600)"

If `pcmanfm-qt` is on the 2nd display, and I try and adjust the window
size, the window jumps to the position where top is hidden by panel on
display0, main part is display1. If I don't immediately let go of
mouse-button (which is what I tended to do), I can still adjust it's
size, but my mouse is a huge-distance from the bottom right corner of
window.

The menu's don't display when `pcmanfm-qt` is on display1 (non-primary-
display) with behavior described in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxqt-panel/+bug/1810079.

I experimented with each corner to see if the window jumped - it only
occurred when I tried to adjust the window size using the bottom right
corner of the window, however it didn't occur every time (but did most
of the time). I believe if I adjust size [of window] using any other
corner, or middle-edge-of-window (ie. anywhere else but bottom-right
corner), THEN tried to adjust using bottom-right corner it wouldn't jump
strangely. If however I clicked on a menu (say view) then adjusted
size-of-window using bottom-right-corner it would jump (but repeated
testing seemed to miss-prove this theory...)

**
If I adjusted displays (using Monitor-Settings) to be left-right or next to
each other horizontally, I'd get expected behavior. Readjusting monitors to be
in vertical fashion and strange jumping-window behavior returned. I switched
my monitors in Monitor-settings so the monitors were reversed (my top monitor
showed as being at bottom, my bottom as if top in settings) and pcmanfm-qt
window jumped again.
**

[Bug 1812367] [NEW] Issuing right button click by xdotool does not work as expected

2019-01-18 Thread Jarno Suni
Public bug reported:

'xdotool click 3' does not work. Actual left mouse button does not work
afterwards. Using right mouse button before may help. This happens when
I run the command as a keyboard shortcut in Xfce. If I use
--clearmodifiers, it also happens when I use the command on terminal.

Besides: if I use the command as a keyboard shortcut (in Xfce at least)
it does not work as a right button click unless I add short delay by
sleep command in a script before running xdotool.

[Bug 1812342] Re: lubuntu 19.04 - pcmanfm-qt menu won't show on 2nd display

2019-01-18 Thread Chris Guiver
Still on QA-Test (x86_64 on hp8200), if `pcmanfm-qt` is on 2nd display
where menu doesn't show, I can use menu shortcuts (eg. ALT+F then T for
file->new-tab) and they work. This is useful only if you knew what keys
to press. Likewise ALT+F then ENTER produced another open tab. I can use
ALT+F(for file, v for view etc) and then arrow-keys and enter to select
- but I have to know what I should be navigating for it to work. The
function is there, it's just not displaying...

2019-01-18 Thread Dominic Raferd
Public bug reported:

This version (0.23.0-1) is now outdated and I believe this is why I
receive warning mails from letsencrypt like this:

Hello,

**Action is required to prevent your Let's Encrypt certificate renewals

You need to update your ACME client to use an alternative validation
method (HTTP-01, DNS-01 or TLS-ALPN-01) before this date or your

[Bug 1801496] Re: Printing job in 16.04 is slower than in 14.04

2019-01-18 Thread William.Yeung
Dear Till,

Thank you very much for taking your time to help investigate this issue
and providing us a way to judge if "Ghostscript" causes the slowdown of
"pdftops" even when you are so busy.

If possible, can you do us a favor on the below investigation:
We found that Ricoh PS driver does not slow down very much actually, we found
that the drivers which uses "pxlcolor / pxlmono" slow down obviously, so we
provided error_log of Ricoh pxlcolor driver in #9.
You can refer to the error_log in #9 on this page.

In this log, we can see that the time interval between [Starting process
"renderer"] and [Closing renderer] really slowdown obviously in Ubuntu
16.04 than in 14.04. In the interval, there is "Running command line for
gs".

We doubted that maybe the Ghostscript causes the slow down, but the
developer of Ghostscript proved that the gs only slowdown very little
time. Please refer to
https://bugs.ghostscript.com/show_bug.cgi?id=700380

So, we doubted that maybe the module around Ghostscript(for example:
foomatic-rip) causes the slow down. Could you have a look at the log in
#9 (and later), and do some analysis when you have time?

If you have further investigation result, it’s appreciated to share with
us.

Best Regards,

[Bug 1812057] Re: Upgrade Lost Firefox ESR

2019-01-18 Thread Olivier Tilloy
When you upgrade from one version of Ubuntu to the next, PPAs are
disabled, because there's no way to ensure that the PPA contains
packages for the version you're upgrading to. That's an expected
behaviour.

The quote means that issues with firefox-esr from Jonathon's PPA should
be reported to him, not as bugs against the official ubuntu package. I
suggest you contact Jonathon
(https://launchpad.net/~jonathonf/+contactuser) to discuss the issue
with him. Feel free to engage in a conversation with him here, even
though the bug is invalid it might be useful to others who use that PPA.

[Bug 1812369] [NEW] lubuntu 19.04 pcmanfm-qt crashes 'trap divide error' on monitor-change-position

2019-01-18 Thread Chris Guiver
Public bug reported:

Lubuntu 19.04 QA-test

I've been having trouble with pcmanfm-qt moving around the 2nd display
(other bug-reports) and thus been adjust position of the screens to see
if monitor-position effects the jumping-window-on-select of
device/folder/.. in pcmanfm-qt. On some of these display or monitor-
settings-adjustments the open windows for pcmanfm-qt has crashed/closed.

dmesg shows

The `dmesg` report snipped shows 3 crashes.

The significance is not great, the user (me) just re-opens pcmanfm-qt,
and no-one adjusts their screen-positions very often, and that is the
only time it crashed - so importance is low.

Possibly related (why I'm adjusting screen position) is 1804329m
1810079. 1812342 which are all problems I've had today with pcmanfm-qt
(causing me to change screen positioning & thus come across these
crashes).

[Bug 1691556] Re: Can't send audio to Amazon Echo via Bluetooth

2019-01-18 Thread Andrzej Machalski
I had the same issue with Device or resource busy and the same problem when
Alexa says that is connected to pc and no sound - but it's because your pc
becomes bluetooth speaker for Echo, in that state pacmd list-cards shows:
...
a2dp_source: Przechwytywanie o wysokiej dokładności (źródło A2DP) (priority 20,
available: yes)
a2dp_sink: Odtwarzanie o wysokiej dokładności (odpływ A2DP) (priority 40,
available: no)
off: Wyłączone (priority 0, available: yes)
...

Finally I got connected Echo as bluetooth speaker and it's working now
after reboot too.

Steps to get Echo working as bluetooth speaker that works for me:

1. Echo doesn't know anything about bluetooth connection - so first forget your
device in Alexa App, and other devices.
2. Reinstall your pulseaudio-module-bluetooth: for fedora: sudo dnf reinstall
pulseaudio-module-bluetooth
3. Uncomment MultiProfile in /etc/bluetooth/main.conf and set it to multiple.
(not sure if it is nesesery)
4. If you made modifications do:
sudo systemctl daemon-reload
sudo service bluetooth restart

5. Check if A2DPSink and source is registred with sudo service bluetooth status
6. If not do:
pacmd load-module module-bluetooth-discover
7. Reset adapter:
sudo hciconfig hci0 reset
8.Check if adapter works good: (my class is 0x1c0104)
hciconfig -a
9. Now unload pulseaudio modules:
pacmd unload-module module-switch-on-connect
pacmd unload-module module-switch-on-port-available

Now open terminal and run bluetoothctl, and in bluetoothctl type:
default-agent
remove ECHO_MAC (if you have saved it before)

Now tell to Echo "Alexa, bluetooth" and after "Searching" Echo should show in
bluetoothctl so connect it:
connect ECHO_MAC
exit

After that bluetoothctl should show that connects to echo and pairs it,
then pacmd list-cards will show a2dp_sink available yes. After reboot
when you want to connect, don't say anything to echo, just run
bluetoothctl and connect echo.

If after connect bluetoothctl doesn't show anything about pair and connect, you
can try to manualy connect to a2dp_sink with:
dbus-send --print-reply --system --dest=org.bluez
/org/bluez/hci0/dev_XX_XX_XX_XX_XX_XX org.bluez.Device1.ConnectProfile
string:110b--1000-8000-00805f9b34f
Replace XX with your echo MAC.

Fedora 29, BlueZ 5.50.

[Bug 1812165] Re: disk error install

2019-01-18 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for your bug report. The log has that error
'error: cannot find a GRUB drive for /dev/sdc1. Check your device.map.'

Could you give some details on what disk partitioning option you picked
and how you configured your disks/partitions?

The `dmesg` report snipped shows 3 crashes.

The significance is not great, the user (me) just re-opens pcmanfm-qt,
and no-one adjusts their screen-positions very often, and that is the
only time it crashed - so importance is low.

Possibly related (why I'm adjusting screen position) is 1804329m
1810079. 1812342 which are all problems I've had today with pcmanfm-qt
(causing me to change screen positioning & thus come across these
  crashes).

[Bug 1812166] Re: [SRU] Please accept ec2-hibinit-agent to supported releases

2019-01-18 Thread Balint Reczey
** Description changed:

  [Impact]

The package is new to the releases and sets up EC2 on demand instances
to hibernate on an ACPI sleep event.

  [Test Case]

- Please perform piuparts-like tests with the package and make sure that
- ec2-hibinit-agent service is started. On EC2 on demand instances that
- were configured to allow hibernation the hibinit-agent service prepares
- the system for enabling hibernation. On non EC2 on demand instances and
- on EC2 on demand instances where hibernation is not configures when
- launching the instance the service starts without error but does not
- prepare the system for being able to hibernate.
+ 1. Please perform piuparts-like tests with the package and make sure
+ that ec2-hibinit-agent service is started. On EC2 on demand instances
+ that were configured to allow hibernation the hibinit-agent service
+ prepares the system for enabling hibernation. On non EC2 on demand
+ instances and on EC2 on demand instances where hibernation is not
+ configures when launching the instance the service starts without error
+ but does not prepare the system for being able to hibernate.
+
+ 2. Start a long running process on the instance, like top in screen.
+
+ 3. Hibernate, then after it finished start the instance on EC2 console
+
+ 4. Log in to the instance and observe top still running in screen.
+
+ 5. Hibernate, then after it finished start the instance on EC2 console
+
+ 6. Log in to the instance and observe top still running in screen.
+(This second cycle ensures that hibernation works more than once.)
+

  [Regression Potential]

Since the package is new it may not cause regressions by being broken.

The package sets up a swap file on / reserving the size of the memory
from the root partition. There is check in the service to ensure that
there is enough space but the space left may not be enough for the
proper operation of the system later. Users a warned on EC2 console to
allocate a big enough root partition for the instance when instance
  hibernation is enabled.

[Bug 1812372] [NEW] Lubuntu 19.04 - pcmanfm-qt crashed with SIGFPE duplicate of #1812369

2019-01-18 Thread Chris Guiver
Public bug reported:

In my opinion this is a duplicate of #1812369
(http://launchpad.net/bugs/1812369)

To ensure the crash report got uploaded from that bug-report

lubuntu@lubuntu:~$ ls -lha /var/crash/
total 11M
drwxrwsrwt 1 rootwhoopsie 80 Jan 18 06:55 .
drwxr-xr-x 1 rootroot 160 Jan 17 16:44 ..
-rwxrwxrwx 1 rootwhoopsie 0 Jan 18 06:55 .lock
-rw-r- 1 lubuntu whoopsie 11M Jan 18 06:55 _usr_bin_pcmanfm-qt.999.crash

I went into /var/crash & `ubuntu-bug _usr` the report.

In filing of 1812369 I only `ubuntu-bug pcmanfm-qt` as I knew it was
crashing from `dmesg` and behavior (it'd close). Rather than abort the
reporting, I decided I'd run what created this to ensure it was
uploaded.
