[Bug 1791427] Re: Touchpad and/or trackpoint stop working after S3 suspend on Lenovo X1 Carbon 6th
I also have this problem on an X1C 6th gen (gray if that somehow matters), non-NFC. I've enabled the Linux support for sleep state and Thunderbolt in BIOS, and disabled AMT. It's exactly as described at https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Linux- Discussion/Troubles-with-X1-Carbon-2018-X1C6-TouchPad-and-TrackPoint- under/td-p/4004815 Here's the dmesg output: https://gist.github.com/dandv/d2ed219103f8d03f980fcbb660d05ef1 There are many "Failed to reset mouse on synaptics-pt/serio0" and "psmouse serio1: TouchPad at isa0060/serio1/input0 lost sync at byte 1" messages. Both the touchpad and trackpoint do work on Ubuntu Budgie 18.04.1. I'm a web developer and Linux user, but not familiar with Linux internals. A TL;DR of the discussion above would be great. And maybe someone more knowledgeable could look at why these peripherals do work in Budgie. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1791427 Title: Touchpad and/or trackpoint stop working after S3 suspend on Lenovo X1 Carbon 6th To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1791427/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1797836] Re: logwatch reports false kernel error warning
It is really annoying when you see error messages which are in fact no errors. Either the name of the service should be changed or logwatch should filter this false positive. [Bug 1769075] Re: [regression][bionic] Bluetooth keyboard battery reports 0% (in kernel 4.15 and later)
I suspect I need to open a new bug for the ASUS docking station (detachable bluetooth keyboard with touchpad) under 18.04.1 LTS. This system is completely up to date, but it still reports 0% charge all the time. I checked the directory tree for /sys/class/power_supply/AC0 (the mouse is blah/BAT0), but it doesn't have entries for capacity or capacity_level! Comparing the mouse with the dock, I found the former has a type of battery, while the latter has one of mains! I don't feel this is a kernel problem any more - I suspect this is a udev issue. Can anyone advise me whether my suspicion is correct and, if so, how to create a quirk file to correct the device definition... please? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1769075 Title: [regression][bionic] Bluetooth keyboard battery reports 0% (in kernel 4.15 and later) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bluez/+bug/1769075/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1776563] Re: Acer Aspire A315 IOAPIC failure on Ubuntu 18.04, kernel hangs, can't load, kernel freeze (AMD Ryzen 5/Radeon/Raven) / AMDGPU Hybrid crash
Do you mean "ivrs_ioapic[4]=00:14.0 ivrs_ioapic[5]=00:00.2"? That made my laptop perform worse than with "noacpi" (on ubuntu 18.04 with acer 315-41 (not G)) - it started heating up in idle, and battery drained faster. I didn't try building the kernel like you suggested earlier but to be honest at this point I am sick of reinstalling linux over and over again, and want something that would be guaranteed to work. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1776563 Title: Acer Aspire A315 IOAPIC failure on Ubuntu 18.04, kernel hangs, can't load, kernel freeze (AMD Ryzen 5/Radeon/Raven) / AMDGPU Hybrid crash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/amd/+bug/1776563/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1807502] Re: hello
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem. 2. The behavior you expected. 3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Thanks! ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1807502 Title: hello To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1807502/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1801743] Re: Suspend fails in Kubuntu 18.04 but works fine in Kubuntu 17.10
OK, I think I progressed a bit: SUPER STRANGELY, awaking from sleep crashes only when I close the lid. My Dell latitude has Fn-sleep combo so I can suspend the laptop from the jeyboard, and then I have no crash. I tried several times and it repeatedly wakes up without problems. BUT if I close the lid after the suspend (also when I suspend from the keyboard Fn combination), the laptop crashes when tries to wake. I can reproduce this. Googling around, I did not find any solution in linux, but several had the same problem in Windows: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/workstation-crashes-sometimes-when-lid-is-closed/2c3c38a7-dee7-4ee8-a233-a5031f59110c Which microsoft suggest waking USB driver, perhaps it is Intel USB 3.0 driver. I will update the BIOS and if the problem persists, I will open a new bug report. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1801743 Title: Suspend fails in Kubuntu 18.04 but works fine in Kubuntu 17.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1801743/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
