[Bug 1787800] Re: Cannot execute Virsh command through SSH on Ubuntu 18.04
Hi Tung, as other people have stated on [1] I first assumed that just the guest is missing. I tried to recreate with 18.04 and as expected found this: ubuntu@node-horsea:~$ virsh dominfo c3 Id: 340 Name: c3 UUID: eac4d5b1-1503-43cd-8f6a-b89c1b04d794 OS Type:hvm State: running CPU(s): 1 CPU time: 5,5s Max memory: 524288 KiB Used memory:524288 KiB Persistent: yes Autostart: disable Managed save: no Security model: apparmor Security DOI: 0 Security label: libvirt-eac4d5b1-1503-43cd-8f6a-b89c1b04d794 (enforcing) ubuntu@node-horsea:~$ logout Connection to horsea closed. $ ssh ubuntu@horsea "virsh dominfo c3" error: failed to get domain 'c3' error: Domain not found: no domain with matching name 'c3' Ok, so far this seems to confirm your finding. There sometimes are some security things about libvirt sockets and also dependent on the interactive/non-interactive login there could be some differences here. And e voila: $ ssh ubuntu@horsea -t 'bash -l -c "virsh dominfo c3"' worked just fine. So it is the difference of having a login shell or not. I don't have any 16.04 systems left to easily retry atm. I know that a login shell will set "LIBVIRT_DEFAULT_URI=qemu:///system" as that is the most common default people in ubuntu want. There actually are discussions every now and then if you'd want that or not but that is what people are used to. Now without a login shell that isn't set, and the probing/default without might have changed due to libvirt upstream. That known you can compare: $ ssh ubuntu@horsea -t 'bash -l -c "virsh uri"' qemu:///system Connection to horsea closed. $ ssh ubuntu@horsea "virsh uri" qemu:///session So by default you now get a per user session scope. This isn't as much a bug as more of a change in defaults (where Ubuntu even tries to stick with the old defaults a bit more with the env var). IMHO I'd call it not a bug atm. To avoid that use login shells or guide your calls with the env variable yourself, example: $ ssh ubuntu@horsea "LIBVIRT_DEFAULT_URI=qemu:///system virsh dominfo c3" [1]: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1066230/cannot-execute-virsh- command-through-ssh-on-ubuntu-18-04# ** Changed in: libvirt (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1787800 Title: Cannot execute Virsh command through SSH on Ubuntu 18.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/1787800/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1675939] Re: firefox addons: "could not be verified" when update exists
^rooker, Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. You reported this bug some time ago and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time. Your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. [Bug 1787886] Re: Upgrade from 16LTS to 18LTS breaks Apache2
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1787886/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1787680] Re: guest fails to start if another running guest has an interface in the same bridge
Odd, that works fine for me (as expected after all the time). Could you share the full XML that the two guests you use for testing have as well as the XML description of your network. If you have them linked to the default network that would be: $ virsh dumpxml demo01inmon01 $ virsh dumpxml demo01inmon02 $ virsh net-dumpxml default If you have other guest and/or network names please adapt. Also a net-info on the network might be useful $ virsh net-info default Again adapt the network name if it differs. Maybe we can spot a difference in your and the common setup that triggers this. ** Changed in: libvirt (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1787680 Title: guest fails to start if another running guest has an interface in the same bridge To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/1787680/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1787904] [NEW] machine crash after GPU reset
Public bug reported: I showed up to work today (after being away for a couple of weeks) and my machine had crashed. I'm not sure why it happened this morning at 7am. My only guess is that a janitor came in and touched the mouse which woke the screen up after a couple of weeks of sleep. (I have been using the machine remotely for computations, which had finished yesterday, but the building was closed so I'm guessing this is the first time the screen has come on in a while). [Bug 1754458] Re: nm-applet symbol not displayed on mate (18.04)
I ran into this after an update from 16.04. I had a custom panel as well but I found a way to show the notification panel again without resetting the dconf configuration. I had three indicator-application.desktop files (and I IIRC likewise as many probably competing running instances of it): /usr/share/mate/autostart/indicator-application.desktop /etc/xdg/autostart/indicator-application.desktop /usr/share/indicator-application/upstart/xdg/autostart/indicator-application.desktop Only the last one seems to be the current one. I have removed (renamed) the first two. I have not tested if that alone works already but edited the remaining (third) file. I have added MATE to the list of shown-in DEs: OnlyShowIn=Unity;MATE; After a reboot the new notification popped up where it is supposed to including all expected apps. ** Also affects: indicator-application (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: network-manager-applet (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid ** Also affects: ubuntu-mate-settings (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1754458 Title: nm-applet symbol not displayed on mate (18.04) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-mate/+bug/1754458/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thanks for the feedback Alejandro. So it looks like the raw-usb interface doesn't help indeed, what chromium needs read access to to access your key is the following: /run/udev/data/c238:0 /run/udev/data/c239:0 /run/udev/data/c240:0 /run/udev/data/c240:1 /run/udev/data/c240:2 And there doesn't seem to be any existing interfaces for those. To switch back to the stable channel, you can just do: sudo snap refresh chromium --stable -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1738164 Title: [snap] U2F doesn't work with yubikey To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/1738164/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1781026] Re: xfdesktop crashes at shut down
Does this happen every time? Looks like no crash dump was attached to this report. [Bug 1670291] Re: Landscape: Upgrade 14.04.5 to 16.04.2 fails unable to reboot
Seems like there's two issues here which I'll address in separate PRs to the landscape-client: First is the issue that the landscape-client fails to report the completion (or failure) of the release upgrade process. This turns out to be due to a delayed import in the version of twisted distributed with trusty. Because the import (of twisted.internet.unix) is delayed, by the time we *do* import it (implicitly by calling another twisted method), the twisted version on disk has been replaced with the xenial version and things (unsurprisingly) break. The trivial fix is to pre-emptively import the module prior to starting the release upgrade; I'll push a PR for this in a moment. The second issue is that landscape-client fails to reboot (or shutdown) the machine immediately following the release upgrade procedure. This is due to the fact landscape-client currently relies upon /sbin/shutdown to handle reboot or shutdown requests. This utility operates happily in its upstart variant (in trusty), and systemd variant (in xenial and beyond), but fails in the post-trusty-to-xenial upgrade environment when the system on disk is effectively xenial (so /sbin/shutdown is a link to systemctl), but the running environment is still partially trusty. It transpires that systemctl (without the double --force --force option) requires both systemd and dbus to be operational in order to successfully (and cleanly) shutdown or restart. The fix for this is a little more complex as the landscape-client relies upon the scheduling function of /sbin/shutdown to ensure it can request a shutdown and still report back to the server before the machine actually goes down. I'm still investigating the best method which will work reliably in all potential environments. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1670291 Title: Landscape: Upgrade 14.04.5 to 16.04.2 fails unable to reboot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/landscape-client/+bug/1670291/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
