[Bug 1659785] Re: package linux-firmware 1.157.8 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
I'm sorry, but this was wrongly triaged as a critical bug in initramfs- tools, when in fact it appears to be a bug in some software not originating in Ubuntu. The error in your logs was: > update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-3.13.0-108-generic > E: /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/casper-memdisk failed with return 1. > update-initramfs: failed for /boot/initrd.img-3.13.0-108-generic with 1. > dpkg: error processing package linux-firmware (--configure): > subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 There is no script named /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/casper-memdisk as part of any package in the Ubuntu archive. ** Changed in: initramfs-tools (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1659785 Title: package linux-firmware 1.157.8 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/initramfs-tools/+bug/1659785/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1759494] [NEW] system-config-lvm package missing from 18.04LTS Bionic Beaver
Public bug reported: Package "system-config-lvm" is not compatible with Wayland so was in some strange logic removed from the repositories in 17.10. This, even though we could switch back to Xorg, which we did anyway since Wayland is far from production ready. Luckily with 18.04LTS Xorg will be default, meaning we can use system- config-lvm again. Please re-add it to the Ubuntu Repositories for 18.04LTS and include it in the LiveISO (USB, CD). It's really the only GUI utility to configure LVM's properly. Since Ubuntu's default LVM creation in Ubiquity does not allow you to specify a volume group name and separate the root from home logical partitions. Using a GUI to configure LVM is much better than using the command line as one can better visualize the results of ones actions. This issue is true if Liblouis version greater with Liblouis 3.3.0 version, Ubuntu 18.04 containing now with Liblouis 3.5.0 release. Testcase: 1. Launch orca with orca --replace command if contracted braille is not enabled (this is the default preference). 2. Press Orca modifier+Space keystroke. If you using desktop layout, the Orca modifier key is insert or numpad insert keystroke. If you using laptop layout, the orca modifier key is caps lock. 3. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that there was an error on your system when trying to install a particular package. Please execute the following command, as it will clear your package cache, in a terminal: sudo apt-get clean Then try performing the update again. [Bug 1743094] Re: [regression] hibernation (freezes on resume) since 4.13.0-25.29
I've been following this for a while. 16.04 isn't going to get the 4.15 kernel until August (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/Support) but 18.04 is going to ship with it (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BionicBeaver/ReleaseNotes) and that gets a stable release on 26 April. I think everyone has the option of one of three things: 1. Do ibrokeit's guide on how to use the mainline 4.15 kernel (and be unsupported but apparently have hibernate working again) 2. Wait for a month for 18.04 to come out and then upgrade, getting a supported 4.15 kernel with it and presumably working hibernate 3. Wait until August for 4.15 to be included in 16.04 Personally I've put up with no hibernate for a couple of months already so I'm just going to wait for 18.04 (which I was going to upgrade to anyway) rather than risk the stability of my work machine, however small that risk might be. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1743094 Title: [regression] hibernation (freezes on resume) since 4.13.0-25.29 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1743094/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1699637] Re: g_object_unref: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
Hi, I've just upgraded my x86_64 laptop to Ubuntu 17.10, and I believe I'm hitting the same problem. In short, I can't login from the lightdm greeter: it accepts my password, the login process starts and immediately stops and comes back to the lightdm greeter. It worked well before I upgraded I had warnings about pam-kwallet.so, which I "solved" by installing libpam-kwallet and libpam-kwallet5 packages, and manually created /lib/security symlink pointing to /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/security. This fixed the warnings, but not the login problem :( The next thing I noticed is the error message mentioned in this bug report. [Bug 1759519] [NEW] [SRU] Ensure "minimal" images have "minimal" in their /etc/cloud/build.info
Public bug reported: This is a backport to xenial for changes landed in bionic in https://code.launchpad.net/~tribaal/livecd-rootfs/trunk-minimal-build- info/+merge/342096 /etc/cloud/build.info is the file we write to the (image) disk where we track build information. In the current state of things we hardcode "server" in there as the build type, but should instead write "minimal" for minimal builds. [Impact] * Minimized images will have "minimal" in their /etc/cloud/build.info file. [Test Case] * No new autopkgtest was added, however, it is trivial to check the produced image for the appropriate key. [Bug 1758868] Re: ovs restart can lead to critical ovs flows missing
Hi Junien, I see that you have stated that you are using neutron version 2:8.4.0-0ubuntu6 which for the sake of this comment is fine but just to close the loop: The current version of neutron in xenial-updates i.e. 2:8.4.0-0ubuntu7.1 introduced a regression [1][2] that produces almost exactly the same behaviour that you see. That neutron package has subsequently been reverted and currently waiting for a release to xenial-updates so in any case please be sure not to upgrade neutron until the version (currently in xenial-proposed) gets released. Reproduce: - Open the Settings > Dock - Enable Auto-hide the Dock - Place a icon on the right edge of the screen - Disable Auto-hide the Dock Expected behavior: The clock should never move. The desktop icons can move if the launcher is overlapping the icons, if this exception is not not feasible the icons should never move automatically. ** Affects: gnome-shell-extension-dashtodock (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: bionic -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1759526 Title: Enabling 'Auto-hide the Dock' moves the clock and desktop icons To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell-extension-dashtodock/+bug/1759526/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
