[Bug 1746426] [NEW] Totem is not associated with any mime types
Public bug reported: In /usr/share/applications/totem.desktop no MimeType key is specified. I believe this causes several tools to not be able to open video files. For example, the following commands fail silently: xdg-open asd.mkv gio open asd.mvv The following command does open the file, but outputs it's being deprecated in favor of 'gio open'. gvfs-open I think his is basically https://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=842805, but for Ubuntu instead of Debian, and on a Totem version where it has already been fixed for Debian. [Bug 1745816] Re: [Bionic] 1.9.4-2ubuntu1 makes touchpad jumpy on Dell Precision 7510
I too have been asking and pressing him for such a property/setting for some months already. One reason why that hasn't been done is just the complexity of the software stack. You'd have to implement it at four(?) different levels before it would work: * libinput * gnome-shell / mutter * gsettings schema * gnome-tweak-tool / gnome-control-centre -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1745816 Title: [Bionic] 1.9.4-2ubuntu1 makes touchpad jumpy on Dell Precision 7510 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/libinput/+bug/1745816/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1746444] [NEW] /run/chrony missing?
Public bug reported: >From logs: chronyd[3443]: Could not change ownership of /run/chrony : Operation not permitted chronyd[3443]: Could not access /run/chrony : No such file or directory chronyd[3443]: Disabled command socket /run/chrony/chronyd.sock Not sure if this is critical, but it should be checked. Per chronyc this is for: There are two ways chronyc can access chronyd. One is the Internet Protocol (IPv4 or IPv6) and the other is a Unix domain socket, which is accessible locally by the root or chrony user. By default, chronyc first tries to connect to the Unix domain socket. The compiled-in default path is /run/chrony/chronyd.sock. If that fails (e.g. because chronyc is running under a non-root user), it will try to connect to 127.0.0.1 and then ::1. Some commands are ONLY allowed via the socket connection OR if allowed per "cmdallow" so this should be important. ** Affects: chrony (Ubuntu) Importance: High Status: Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1746444 Title: /run/chrony missing? ** Description changed: [Impact] * This bug effects anyone deploying LXD with juju on a machine with interfaces configured as IP/mask. Since this is a very common use case, SRU is needed. [Test Case] * Detailed process can be seen at https://paste.ubuntu.com/26169937/ [Regression Potential] * Potential for regression is low because of the nature of the error. @SN The integration with PAM and and other flows that require auth is indeed lacking in some places. For. ex. with gdm/mdm login does fall back to password but even if you log in with fp, you need to enter the password later to unlock your keyring, so... And if your home is encrypted, you can't log in with fp at all so you need to make it fail 3 times before giving you a pw prompt. [Bug 1746458] Re: should it rather be network online target in the service file?
Yes according to [1] the most direct translation to the old LSB $network would be: Wants=network-online.target After=network-online.target And that is what chrony was and IMHO should be again. That also would fix some rare cases where network comes up late and chrony starts in offline mode. Relying on the hooks to online it isn't recommended btw (Only working for NetworkManager in 18.04 atm). [Bug 1746200] Re: Regression in 2017-07-07 updates
rEFInd is said 'beta quality' by its own dev http://www.rodsbooks.com/refind/ and itself rely on rEFIt which has its bugs list : https://sourceforge.net/p/refit/bugs/ but looks abandonned http://www.rodsbooks.com/refind/todo.html To conclude: intel-microcode can't be blamed at first glance. But refind have trouble to work with the microcode script. Please check: 'journalctl | grep refind > refind.txt' (after intel-microcode removal then reinstall). Running refind over grub2 results having 2 EFI boot loaders at once !!! http://www.rodsbooks.com/efi-bootloaders/index.html ... and that should be the main trouble source. So test booting only with refind (purging grub2) and report back; but that one is clearly 'invalid' regarding the links above. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1746200 Title: Regression in 2017-07-07 updates To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/intel-microcode/+bug/1746200/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
