2017-10-13 Thread Kai-Heng Feng
Please add kernel parameter "drm.debug=0x0e" and boot with the drm-tip
kernel. Attach the dmesg here.

If it hangs during boot process, you probably need to remove "quiet
splash" in grub.

Information about guest:

The guest freezes and can only be (re-)started from KVM host.
Afterwards only the (virtual) root disk is mounted, the second disk will no
longer be mounted.

See dmesg messages:

[ 10.188638] random: nonblocking pool is initialized
[ 10.210052] cgroup: new mount options do not match the existing superblock,
will be ignored

/etc/fstab (UUIDs with blkid verified)
# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
# Use 'blkid' to print the universally unique identifier for a
# device; this may be used with UUID= as a more robust way to name devices
# that works even if disks are added and removed. See fstab(5).

# / was on /dev/vda1 during installation

(last line is the disk causing issues)

'mount -a' doesn't allow to mount the disk, too.
With explicit path mount works, but guest/VM crashes again after trying to copy
again some data.

[Bug 1552179] Re: Variety segfaults on libexiv/std::_Rb_tree on autostart, but not when started manually

2017-10-13 Thread Peter Levi
We can't drop our use of EXIF, it's essential - Variety uses EXIF
metadata inside the images to store info about where the image is
downloaded from, what the source URL and Author is, etc. EXIF is
definitely the most appropriate place for this, as it "moves" along with
the image when a user starts reorganizing their collection, and it also
ensures that author attribution, whenever present, persists if the user
uploads the image somewhere.

[Bug 1723350] [NEW] sssd offline on boot, stays offline forever (artful)

2017-10-13 Thread Marian Rainer-Harbach
Public bug reported:

SSSD 1.15.3-2ubuntu1 on 17.10/artful (previous versions on artful were
also affected) is offline on boot and seems to stay offline forever (I
waited over 20 minutes).

sssd_nss.log:
(Fri Oct 13 09:49:50 2017) [sssd[nss]] [sss_dp_get_reply] (0x0010): The Data
Provider returned an error [org.freedesktop.sssd.Error.DataProvider.Offline]

SSSD immediately returns to normal operation after restarting it or
after sending SIGUSR2.

A workaround for the problem is creating the file
/etc/systemd/system/sssd.service.d/override.conf with contents

[Bug 1721946] Re: passwordsafe does not remember settings made in options dialogue

2017-10-13 Thread William Blough
When you re-opened passwordsafe to do your import, did you open the test
database again, or did you start over with a new database?

This matters because while some (system-related) settings are stored in
~/.pwsafe/pwsafe.cfg, many (most?) of the other settings are stored in
the password database itself. Using a new DB means you get the default
settings.

[Bug 1705689] Re: When adding an app to favourites, two icons are created.

2017-10-13 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Interesting this was first reported against the standard gnome-shell
dock (comment #1) but apparently is being reported against ubuntu dock
too (bug 1723355)

** No longer affects: gnome-terminal (Ubuntu)

** Description changed:

On Ubuntu 17.10, I wanted to add gnome-terminal to the favorites.
Usually in Gnome, the item gets added one times. Instead, there were two
- items of gnome-terminal in the favorites. The bug is reproducible and
- only affects gnome-terminal.
+ items of gnome-terminal in the favorites.
