[Bug 1690980] Re: No pop-up window to warn users that system should not reboot or shutdown while installing security updates

2017-05-16 Thread ethan.hsieh
@Brian Murray

When I saw this issue first time, unattended-upgrades was triggered
automatically.
I tried to reproduce this issue, so I executed the python script manually.

I filed the bug because users don't know security updates is ongoing
when unattended-upgrades is triggered automatically. If users reboot or
shutdown system at that moment, system may fail to boot at next time.

[Bug 1691314] [NEW] Completions should be paged through PAGER when `page-completions` is off

2017-05-16 Thread Mike Doherty
Public bug reported:

When tab completion sends output through a pager, it seemed to use more.
Because less is better than more, I wanted it to use more instead,
particularly so I can scroll in both directions.

I initially made /bin/more a symlink to less (which would trigger its
more-emulation mode, but that's still better than actual more), but this
had no effect. As a result, I consulted the man page for bash. In the
section on readline, there is a setting `page-completions` which says
that when on (the default), readline will use a built-in more-like pager
to page the results. This doesn't specify what happens when it is turned
off, but I expected that instead of the built-in pager, it would use an
external on, specifically the one specified in the PAGER environment
variable. However, it instead simply dumps the results in the terminal.

Please add some way to use PAGER as the pager for completion results.

[Bug 1555258] Re: Request contained command arguments

2017-05-16 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package nagios-nrpe - 2.15-1ubuntu1.1

---
nagios-nrpe (2.15-1ubuntu1.1) xenial; urgency=medium

  * debian/rules : Add "--enable-command-args". (LP: #1555258)
This update enables the command-args support in nrpe
by not ignoring option "dont_blame_nrpe=1". By default,
the option is set as follow : "dont_blame_nrpe=0", which
has the same effect of having the command-args support
disabled at compile time like Debian does. Ubuntu has decided
to deviate from Debian upstream for that particular case to
allow/unblock the Ubuntu users of nrpe to make the choice for
themselves whether to accept the security risks that the feature
involve by manually enabling command-args in nrpe.cfg or not.
For more details as of why Debian has decided to disable the
feature can be found in debian/NEWS. (closes: #756479)

  * [5bf9b20] Add 10_remote_execution_exploit_fix.dpatch patch (LP: #1555258)
As requested by the security team.

[Bug 1555258] Re: Request contained command arguments

2017-05-16 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package nagios-nrpe - 2.15-1ubuntu3

---
nagios-nrpe (2.15-1ubuntu3) yakkety; urgency=medium

  * debian/rules : Add "--enable-command-args". (LP: #1555258)

  * [5bf9b20] Add 10_remote_execution_exploit_fix.dpatch patch (LP: #1555258)
As requested by the security team.

Re: [Bug 1688575] Re: Segmentation fault on a slave slapd (sync replication with kerberos authentication)

2017-05-16 Thread Ryan Tandy
Hi,

Sorry for the silence, I'm in a busy spell and not able to look at
Ubuntu stuff right now. I do intend to follow up and propose the patch
for a stable update when I can; anyone else is welcome to beat me to it
in the meantime.

[Bug 1691324] [NEW] #PPAPI_VERSION# not set in 10-flash script

2017-05-16 Thread Mark Milburn
Public bug reported:

Summary:
/etc/chromium-browser/customizations/10-flash sets --ppapi-flash-version to
empty string.
I apologize if this is a poor description. See discussion section after
"Required information" for speculation.

Required information:

1. lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 17.04
Release:17.04

2. apt-cache policy adobe-flashplugin
adobe-flashplugin:
  Installed: 1:20170509.1-0ubuntu0.17.04.1
  Candidate: 1:20170509.1-0ubuntu0.17.04.1
  Version table:
 *** 1:20170509.1-0ubuntu0.17.04.1 500
500 http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu zesty/partner amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3. Expectation: /etc/chromium-browser/customizations/10-flash sets
CHROMIUM_FLAGS with the appropriate flash version. For example:
CHROMIUM_FLAGS="$CHROMIUM_FLAGS --ppapi-flash-path=$flashso
--ppapi-flash-version=25.171.0.whatever"

4. Actual result: CHROMIUM_FLAGS has flash version set to empty string.
CHROMIUM_FLAGS="$CHROMIUM_FLAGS --ppapi-flash-path=$flashso
--ppapi-flash-version="

Discussion:
Ok, I'm not super familiar with Debian stuff, so I could be very very wrong. I
took a peek here:

https://launchpadlibrarian.net/318983621/adobe-
flashplugin_20170509.1-0ubuntu0.17.04.1.diff.gz

And I noticed that what I think is a build script fails to set
#PPAPI_VERSION#. When I leave this as is, it seems to disable flash on
chromium. As a workaround, I ended up doing what it looks like the
build script essentially does, just within the script itself:

diff ~/stage/etc/chromium-browser/customizations/10-flash
/etc/chromium-browser/customizations/10-flash
1a2
> version=$(python -c 'import sys, json; print json.load(sys.stdin)["version"]'
> < /usr/lib/adobe-flashplugin/manifest.json)
3c4
<   CHROMIUM_FLAGS="$CHROMIUM_FLAGS --ppapi-flash-path=$flashso
--ppapi-flash-version="
---
>   CHROMIUM_FLAGS="$CHROMIUM_FLAGS --ppapi-flash-path=$flashso
> --ppapi-flash-version=$version"

Anyway, hope this is useful. Thanks for the package!

** Affects: adobe-flashplugin (Ubuntu)

[Bug 1690443] Re: Trackpoint middle button scroll is not working after upgrading to 17.04

2017-05-16 Thread Ibrahim Awwal
1) At the very least, 16.10. I think it was working ever since I
installed libinput as noted in the earlier bug, which might have been
around 16.04 or 15.10.

2) I don't think that's a BIOS setting? Not sure where you're getting
that from, I think it's a Windows driver setting. In any case, both my
trackpoint and touchpad are enabled, and the appropriate regions at the
top of the clickpad are acting as the trackpoint buttons (i.e. I can
left, middle, and right click fine, I just can't hold middle click to
scroll).

3) I was using libinput in the prior releases.

4) Have not tried uninstalling libinput, but I can give that a go. But
maybe it'd be easier to just comment out the conf file lines first, so
that it's just installed but not used.

5) 4.10.19 and .20, I just got the update to .21 today and have not
tried it yet.
