[Bug 1632209] Re: apt-file search says "Don't know how to handle tor+http"
That used to be a shortcoming in apt-file, not a problem of apt- transport-tor (or any other transport as apt-file was using its own implementation). An apt-file release changing to utilizing apt for downloads (which in turn would us a-t-t then) was released as version 3.0, released on 28 Feb 2016 (aka months before this report). I guess it missed the LTS deadline – perhaps there is a backport available if you need it to work. In any case, this isn't a bug in apt-transport-tor hence closing as invalid. ** Changed in: apt-transport-tor (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1632209 Title: apt-file search says "Don't know how to handle tor+http" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt-transport-tor/+bug/1632209/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1659824] Re: screen-shot-record.html is inaccurate
Hi Gunnar, I'm running 16.04. My points simply relate to terminology. The window has the title "Screenshot" so surely it doesn't make sense for the page to say "In the Take Screenshot window ..."? I always try to use the terminology used by the GUI. Here the GUI uses "screen", which I think is OK. So surely it's not a good idea for the page to use "desktop" in step 2 - with no mention of "screen". In my opinion these confusions over terminology make the page more difficult to read. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1659824 Title: screen-shot-record.html is inaccurate To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-docs/+bug/1659824/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1660031] [NEW] upgrade renders firefox unusable
Public bug reported: Hi, I just apt-upgraded a 16.04 machine to the latest packages, which rendered firefox unusable. [Bug 1654624] Re: dhcp apparmor profile complains about lxd client
> Removing the LXD task, this is yet another apparmor bug from the apparmor > stacking/namespacing change which was backported to Xenial. Well, that explains a lot. 16.04 was formerly stable but recently began to drive me crazy because of so many apparmor problems with almost every major daemon or browser, and an aa-notify which just vomates hundreds of messages onto the desktop faster than one can click them away. I am not an apparmor expert, but was able to deal with it for years, but suddenly have the problem that adding permissions to the local-files for local extensions does not solve problems as expected. I think it is not overestimated to say that this apparmor thing broke the usability of 16.04. [Bug 1654624] Re: dhcp apparmor profile complains about lxd client
> Which are the perceivable consequences of this bug? I currently cannot survey the consequences, since I am not familiar with the recent semantic changes of apparmor (are there any docs? Any hints to the users about changes? Any release notes?) For some time now I am spending and wasting lots of time to hunt bugs in all sorts of software like firefox, chromium, ejabberd, lxd,... which is all caused by sudden apparmor trouble. A side effect of all these bugs is that log files (and desktops through aa-notify) are flooded with hundres, thousands, millions of log messages, which jams a system and makes it impossible to find really important log messages, and, btw., can ruin flash memory in SSDs and SD-Cards within short time. Why on earth has one backported this pile of bugs into a LTS version? This rendered Ubuntu so unreliable, that I have to consider to change to CentOS or something like this for servers in order to get SELinux instead. Is there any way to get 16.04 stable again? BTW: How should I answer the question about the consequences of the bug, if I don't see any docs about was has changed with apparmor? ** Changed in: isc-dhcp (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1654624 Title: dhcp apparmor profile complains about lxd client To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apparmor/+bug/1654624/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1660031] Re: upgrade renders firefox unusable
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1660031/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1586625] Re: Update notification but no update manager icon in launcher ?
** Description changed: Hi, Ubuntu 16.04 here w/ Unity I sometimes have some notification about available update for my system. But icon for update manager never automatically shows in launcher - as it used to in previous ubuntu version. (a green background icon with an A on) → screenshot of expected behavior http://hpics.li/4fb6d59 After seeing the update notification in 16.04 one has to manually run update-manager or synaptic. [Bug 1660040] [NEW] old-fashioned ufw structure reduces usability
Public bug reported: Hi, ufw makes it difficult to deploy firewall rules through management systems like puppet, ansible or other scripts. ufw has three points where to put rules in: before.rules user.rules after.rules the ufw command accepts only a very limited sort of rules, and user.rules should not be used to deploy files, since user changes would be overwritten. before.rules and after.rules could easily be used for that purpose, but then the machine is cut from automated updates through apt, since apt refuses (for good reason) to replace modified files in /etc. It would be much better to have a directory like /etc/ufw/rules_v4.d , to put the old-fashioned three files into 20_before, 50_user and 70_after, and to execute all rules in this directory, thus allowing to have additional rules in separate files. regards ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 Package: ufw 0.35-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-59.80-generic 4.4.35 Uname: Linux 4.4.0-59-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.4 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: LXDE Date: Sat Jan 28 16:21:02 2017 PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: ufw UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to xenial on 2016-04-06 (297 days ago) ** Affects: ufw (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug xenial -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1660040 Title: old-fashioned ufw structure reduces usability To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ufw/+bug/1660040/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1189721] Re: Ralink RT3290 doesn't have a bluetooth driver
At the address 0x48615c I've got jump, so the memory at the address (_v16 + 220) & 255) equals 0, which is wrong. This way we never reach the _LMssp_Send_LMP_DH_Key_Check() routine. I would need to trace this on Ubuntu 12.10 where is the pairing successful. I could nop-out the jump at the address 0x48615c and reach the _LMssp_Send_LMP_DH_Key_Check(), but the comparison is done in the _LMssp_Send_LMP_DH_Key_Check(), so the patch of rtbt was so far without pairing. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1189721 Title: Ralink RT3290 doesn't have a bluetooth driver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bluetooth/+bug/1189721/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1659699] Re: Terminal constatly copies last row and adds it, every ~2 seconds
** Description changed: I know this might not be the very best bug report you'll see here, but I have no means to reproduce the problem now (reinstalled OS), and the overall confusion may lead to the bug not being found for a long time. OS: Ubuntu Gnome 16.10 After upgrading the gnome desktop using commands mentioned here: https://askubuntu.com/questions/625244/how-to-upgrade-to-the-latest-gnome-version among many problems I encountered, one of the most incapacitating was the terminal glitching out, just like in this tmux issue: https://github.com/tmux/tmux/issues/738 Back then I thought it is due to my configuration (I assign the blame for everything to myself first, because I break things on a daily basis...), so I reinstalled the OS and moved on with my life. After noticing the above issue I thought I might post this here. - Others pointed out that it is an issue with displaying UTF-9.0 double - cell characters. The above behavior was observed while having things - like powerline constantly updating it's row with those special - characters. There is a clock section on the powerline, so that is where - the 2s time interval might come from. + Others pointed out that it is an issue with displaying UTF-9.0 (edit: I + meant unicode 9.0...) double cell characters. There is no difference between vanilla Bash, zsh, or TMux sessions - all indicate the same behavior. Public bug reported: When terminator is started and another instance is running on another desktop that instance gets focus and the VM switches to that desktop. To reproduce : 1. start terminator on desktop 1 2. change to desktop 2 3. start a new terminator instance. Actual result: 1. The desktop VM switches to dekstop 1 - first terminator isntace has focus. 2. switching back to desktop 2 the new terminator is actually started Expected result. 1. The new terminator instance should start in desktop 2 and get focus. 2. No desktop switch should happen. [Bug 1252121] Re: missing PrepareForSleep signal after resuming, causing networking to stay disabled
I've recently upgraded from 12.04 to 14.04. In 12.04 all worked perfectly. I see the same sort of thing as discussed. I attach a log from dbus-monitor. PrepareForSleep True is sent, sleep state is never reached, PrepareForSleep false is never sent I have no problem suspend/hybernate via pm-suspend. sudo /lib/systemd/systemd-sleep suspend also works fine for suspend, hibernate and hybrid-sleep systemd/network manager get in a mess. seemingly together (see test results below) Since I'm on 14.04, I don't have systemd-shim, so this seems to be a systemd problem, not just -shim I used to have tlp installed, but have purged it, and re-installed systemd, the problem has not cleared. Test results: $ sudo gdbus call -y -d org.freedesktop.login1 -o /org/freedesktop/login1 -m org.freedesktop.login1.Manager.Suspend true >> network manager disables, no suspend 2nd call: $ sudo gdbus call -y -d org.freedesktop.login1 -o /org/freedesktop/login1 -m org.freedesktop.login1.Manager.Suspend true Error: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.systemd1.LoadFailed: Unit systemd-suspend.service failed to load: No such file or directory. Re: [Bug 1451728] Re: [master] kde-config-telepathy-accounts package install error
It should be clear Bernd that English is the way to go with everything tailored for an International Community.(in this case KDE) That some German people are so focused on their own inability to understand the language. (That is needet in every Internation Community) And start demanding that the far bigger part of the community writes in there language, even if they just could fix that by learning English in the first place is really hard for me to understand. Im German too but i would not demand from others to speak a language that is clearly not the most spoken in the internet in any professional or most other communitys. So please write with us in english and back to topic please :). [Bug 1189721] Re: Ralink RT3290 doesn't have a bluetooth driver
So my basic theory is: LM_Find_Link_Table_Entry() is trying to read something (link table) from efuse data and when the data is malformed LMssp_LM_User_Confirmation_Request_Reply() fails.
