[Bug 1657024] [NEW] mydomain gets set to "localdomain"
Public bug reported: I'm on 16.04.1 with postfix 3.1.0-3. This is almost exactly the same bug that has been reported 8-12 years ago, explained in detail here: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=214741#10 ... which is exactly what I'm experiencing: $mydomain gets set to "localdomain" if my hostname is a single word (Ubuntu default) instead of a fqdn, unless I force mydomain= in main.cf My host+mailname are configured as recommended by Ubuntu, and the postfix config is pretty default. The above upstream debian bug says it was fixed in v2.11, but I'm not sure ... # postconf | grep ^mydomain mydomain = localdomain and then in turn: # postconf | grep ^myhostname Here are my configs: # cat /etc/hosts 7x.xx.xxx.100 lin.foodomain.com lin 127.0.0.1 localhost loopback 127.0.1.1 ubuntu ::1 ip6-localhost ip6-loopback ff02::1 ip6-allnodes ff02::2 ip6-allrouters # cat /etc/hostname lin # cat /etc/mailname foodomain.com # hostname -f lin.foodomain.com # postconf -n alias_database = hash:/etc/aliases alias_maps = hash:/etc/aliases append_dot_mydomain = no biff = no compatibility_level = 2 inet_interfaces = all inet_protocols = ipv4 mailbox_size_limit = 0 masquerade_domains = $myorigin milter_default_action = accept milter_protocol = 2 mydestination = foodomain.com, lin.foodomain.com mynetworks = 127.0.0.0/8 [:::127.0.0.0]/104 [::1]/128 mynetworks_style = host myorigin = /etc/mailname non_smtpd_milters = $smtpd_milters readme_directory = no recipient_delimiter = + relayhost = smtp_tls_session_cache_database = btree:${data_directory}/smtp_scache smtpd_banner = $myhostname ESMTP $mail_name (Ubuntu) smtpd_milters = inet:localhost:8891 smtpd_relay_restrictions = permit_mynetworks permit_sasl_authenticated defer_unauth_destination smtpd_sasl_auth_enable = yes smtpd_tls_auth_only = yes smtpd_tls_cert_file = /etc/ssl/certs/lin.foodomain.com.chained.crt smtpd_tls_key_file = /etc/ssl/private/lin.foodomain.com.key smtpd_tls_session_cache_database = btree:${data_directory}/smtpd_scache smtpd_use_tls = yes smtputf8_enable = no ** Affects: postfix (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1657024 Title: mydomain gets set to "localdomain" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/postfix/+bug/1657024/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1542733] Re: Connect to Hidden Wi-Fi Network, "Connect" grayed out
Thank you Sebastien for assigning this to Aron to resolve!! Reading one of the URL's you supplied about the issue (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=597839 ) where Beniamino Galvani has already created a patch / fix. Not being a developer is there any way we can test this patch that Beniamino created which may assist Aron if he can't look at the issue in the short term? Even directing to instructions on how to apply the patch? Was hoping to have the issue resolved before the 16.04.2 release scheduled this week. I realise this won't happen now but I'm sure most of us that have experienced the issue would like to have this issue fix this sooner rather than later. [Bug 1632165] Re: modesetting driver unbearably slow on intel graphics
I ran into this issue as well, and switching from the modesetting driver back to the intel driver in xorg.conf has helped tremendously. I went from 15.10 through 16.04 (which was entirely broken for me, something involving compiz I think) to 16.10, which worked, but had terrible graphical performance. As for my hardware, I'm on an Acer Aspire v7, using an Intel Haswell i7-4500U with HD Graphics 4400 (there's also an nvidia GT750M, but I selected intel with prime-select, otherwise I get a login loop). Running with the modesetting drivers, I found compiz regularly had 5 processes going, each reporting as using 30% of a core, and any sort of animation was unbearably choppy. I even had lag on the lockscreen. I found that in the Xorg.0.log, it said: [ 8.690] (II) AIGLX: Screen 0 is not DRI2 capable [ 8.690] (EE) AIGLX: reverting to software rendering [ 8.785] (II) AIGLX: enabled GLX_MESA_copy_sub_buffer [ 8.786] (II) AIGLX: Loaded and initialized swrast [ 8.786] (II) GLX: Initialized DRISWRAST GL provider for screen 0 while with only changing to the intel driver, I see: [ 8.687] (II) AIGLX: enabled GLX_MESA_copy_sub_buffer [ 8.687] (II) AIGLX: enabled GLX_ARB_create_context [ 8.687] (II) AIGLX: enabled GLX_ARB_create_context_profile [ 8.687] (II) AIGLX: enabled GLX_EXT_create_context_es{,2}_profile [ 8.687] (II) AIGLX: enabled GLX_INTEL_swap_event [ 8.687] (II) AIGLX: enabled GLX_SGI_swap_control and GLX_MESA_swap_control [ 8.687] (II) AIGLX: enabled GLX_EXT_framebuffer_sRGB [ 8.687] (II) AIGLX: enabled GLX_ARB_fbconfig_float [ 8.687] (II) AIGLX: enabled GLX_EXT_fbconfig_packed_float [ 8.687] (II) AIGLX: GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap backed by buffer objects [ 8.687] (II) AIGLX: enabled GLX_ARB_create_context_robustness [ 8.687] (II) AIGLX: Loaded and initialized i965 [ 8.687] (II) GLX: Initialized DRI2 GL provider for screen 0 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1632165 Title: modesetting driver unbearably slow on intel graphics To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1632165/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1315344] Re: Grub install failed on disks with software RAID
Doh! In my case the issue was that I had replaced one of the disks on the server. In the process the server had decided it was going to boot from disk #3... [Bug 1656727] Re: Unity8 crashes and restarts when clicking on a menu [terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::out_of_range' what(): map::at]
I'm not sure exactly what is happening, but I suspect is needs something like the following in some other method. (from lp:qtmir src/platforms/mirserver/windowmanagementpolicy.cpp): void WindowManagementPolicy::resize(const miral::Window &window, const Size size) { miral::WindowSpecification modifications; modifications.size() = size; m_tools.invoke_under_lock([&window, &modifications, this]() { try { m_tools.modify_window(m_tools.info_for(window), modifications); } catch (const std::out_of_range&) { // usually shell trying to operate on a window which already closed, just ignore // TODO: MirSurface extends the miral::Window lifetime by holding a shared pointer to // the mir::scene::Surface, meaning it cannot detect when the window has been closed // and thus avoid calling this method. } }); } -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1656727 Title: Unity8 crashes and restarts when clicking on a menu [terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::out_of_range' what(): map::at] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1656727/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1655906] Re: Please upgrade docker.io to latest 1.12.6
Right, afaict this is caused by https://github.com/opencontainers/runc/commit/5d93fed3d27f1e2bab58bad13b180a7a81d0b378 . Marking the process as undumpable requires that the caller has CAP_SYS_PTRACE in the target process user namespace. If not, then any file-opening operations on /proc// (e.g. readlink()) will be denied. This is exactly what getPipeFds() is trying to do. This leads to the error you see above. There's another PR floating around that will complicate things even when CAP_SYS_PTRACE is available (https://github.com/opencontainers/runc/pull/1274). But I need to take a closer look. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1655906 Title: Please upgrade docker.io to latest 1.12.6 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/containerd/+bug/1655906/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
