[Bug 1653012] Re: RTL8821AE doesn't work after some minutes.
I tried with the latest upstream kernel 4.10 rc2 and I still have problems with uploading the file to my FTP, same issues nothing changed. The upload is very slow and eventually stops. Also, I noticed how the uploaded bytes in Filezilla stops from incrementing as to indicate an intermittent issue with the connection itself. While the upload is in progress and if at the same time I request a page from Firefox from the Internet I have to wait a lot in order to load the page. It looks like the whole connection is screwed while uploading the file with Filezilla. Things don't change if I change FTP server and go for an external one. I can post a video of the issue on Youtube, I'll do that later on. [Bug 1646583] Re: Ceph mon and osd don't restart on reboot with Xenial
I agree that there is a behavioural difference between the systemd configurations provided by upstream, and the systemd configuration in distro (and the reason why is outlined in bug 1627640). Services not restarting post reboot is not something I've seen (deploying using charms which don't do anything specific with regards to systemd configurations). Can you confirm which systemd service is used for the ceph-mon's in ceph ansible? I think this is most likely the cause - the vanilla ceph-mon service provided by the Ubuntu and Debian packaging should automatically startup on reboots, but I'm not 100% sure about the ceph-mon@ version provided by upstream packages. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1646583 Title: Ceph mon and osd don't restart on reboot with Xenial To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ceph/+bug/1646583/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1646583] Re: Ceph mon and osd don't restart on reboot with Xenial
OK did a quick sanity check using charm; the ceph-mon daemon is managed using the distro provided ceph-mon systemd unit (not the upstream provided ceph-mon@ systemd unit); ceph-osd are managed in the standard way and do restart OK on reboot - specification I think the udev events that happen on boot trigger the OSD to startup independently of any top level system targets.

OK so making the assumption that the ceph-ansible tooling relies on the ceph-mon@ units, I can confirm that a ceph-mon process is not automatically started on reboot. [Bug 1654392] Re: growisofs -speed parameter has no effect
Hi, did you already try -speed=1 in order to get the lowest possible speed ? - The growisofs function to set the speed set_speed_B6h in https://sources.debian.net/src/dvd%2Brw-tools/7.1-11.1/growisofs_mmc.cpp/#L1090 is quite complicated. It inquires the drive for the list of available write speeds and inquires the current write speed. If a speed was selected by program option (i.e. speed_factor != 0.0) then it looks for the smallest offered write speed and begins to divide and multiply. Then it looks for the offered speed which is closest to the calculated value. This obviously goes a wrong path by yielding "16.4x1352KBps" rather than "12.3x1352KBps". (The display computation divides the KB/s number of effective speed by the KiB/s number of 1x DVD speed. It should rather divde by 1385.) One would have to watch in set_speed_B6h() the life of variables "speed_factor", "minv", "targetv", and "velocity", to find out what exactly goes wrong. Maybe the computations are even ok and the drive just does not obey. - If you look for an alternative to growisofs, then consider cdrskin or xorriso personality xorrecord, which are better suitable for DVD and BD than wodim and also not dead yet. (I am their upstream developer. If they cannot set the speed either then we'd have some chance to find out why.) [Bug 1654309] Re: package mysql-server-5.7 5.7.16-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Thank you for your report. >From the log: 2017-01-05 09:34:00 57613 [ERROR] /usr/sbin/mysqld: unknown variable 'log_slow_queries=/var/log/mysql/mysql-slow.log' This is a config that the newer server doesn't understand anymore. Deprecated in 5.1 IIRC http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.7/en/server-options.html#option_mysqld_log-slow-queries But it just has a new name. You'd have to adapt your config and retry. This looks like a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in Ubuntu. You can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community Since we use this bug tracker to track bugs in Ubuntu, rather than configuration problems, I'm marking this bug as Invalid. If you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem, explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to New. ** Changed in: mysql-5.7 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1654309 Title: package mysql-server-5.7 5.7.16-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.7/+bug/1654309/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1631763] Re: Ubuntu needs a GPU accelerated browser
** Description changed: We all know the Web support of an operating system is becoming more and more important for users. The situation right now in terms of browser Performance and power consumption of GNU/Linux is not really in a good shape compared to the 2 other competitors : Windows and Mac OSX. [Bug 1652270] Re: Could not boot into RPi3 with kernel 4.4.0-1038-raspi2
for those that are are in the unbeatable state - the way to recover without data loss pending fixed kernel either mount the ubuntu raspberry pi image or write it to another SD card, copy the files from the small boot partition (i did all to be safe) e.g. boot.scr vmlinuz etc to a folder on your machine or better still to the sd card of the failing install and overwrite the original files (take a backup first) - this will allow you to reboot into the older kernel and to properly cleanup the 1038 version until its fixed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1652270 Title: Could not boot into RPi3 with kernel 4.4.0-1038-raspi2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-raspi2/+bug/1652270/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1652270] Re: Could not boot into RPi3 with kernel 4.4.0-1038-raspi2
I did not have to issue apt install linux-*. In my case, apt update && apt dist-upgrade was enough to break the system as a new kernel had been installed automatically. Some people reported that apt update followed with apt upgrade break it too. This makes a big difference as the impact of the bug will be much higher in the near future. It is a nasty bug when you break the system in the process of taking care of it using distribution's fundamental tools. Moreover, if you are successful hot-fixing it, the system cannot be subjected to updates / upgrades since then. Does anybody know of a better fix than copying the backed up files over the new ones? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1652270 Title: Could not boot into RPi3 with kernel 4.4.0-1038-raspi2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-raspi2/+bug/1652270/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
