[Bug 1633251] Re: Crashes when installing on Ubuntu 16.10
Hmm. According to your output, the command that segfaulted was: /usr/lib/gridengine/spooldefaults configuration /usr/share/gridengine /default-configuration I've directly tested the installation of this package on Debian stable- backports, and Debian QA tools report successful installation/uninstallation on Debian Unstable and Testing. I suspect it might either have to do with the versions of some dependencies that were incorporated into Ubuntu 16.10, or perhaps some unexpected data in your configuration. I don't know for sure. When you said you could successfully install on 16.04, were you referring to the version of the package distributed there, or did you try the same version as here, 8.1.9? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1633251 Title: Crashes when installing on Ubuntu 16.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gridengine/+bug/1633251/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1568072 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1568072 Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This particular bug has already been reported and is a duplicate of bug 1568072, so it is being marked as such. The issue you are encountering is that you installed the fpc package from upstream (probably when you were installing the lazarus package). The lazarus team is not making fpc packages that are fully compatible with how things are done in Debian/Ubuntu. That is not something that is desirable to fixe on our side. However, we normally work around that issue, but that work around was temporarily missed, so the package that finally went into Xenial doesn't have it. Need to get 22,5 MB of archives. After this operation, 105 MB of additional disk space will be used. This means that network-manager and plasma-nm are to be uninstalled. I have been left with my KDE system without connectivity even before logging out of the KDE session and logging into the LxQt one. LxQt doesn't recommend connman, but it's a dependency. Thus LxQt cannot run along with KDE and this is to be made clear to users. As an option, connman is to be made an option, not a mandatory bit. [Bug 1513244] Re: package sane-utils 1.0.25+git20150528-1ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Phil Richey, you are asking what you are supposed to do? I have several suggestions 1) First and most important, calm down. You are using software you are not paying for, yet are incredibly demanding. 2) Don't install software from random places on the net, especially since you have no clue what you are doing. 3) Don't mix Debian and Ubuntu packages unless you know what you are doing. 4) Don't open invalid tickets when ignoring #3 The issue you are seeing is a direct result of ignoring #3, closing as invalid, not an issue in Ubuntu, but self-inflicted pain. ** Changed in: sane-backends (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1513244 Title: package sane-utils 1.0.25+git20150528-1ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sane-backends/+bug/1513244/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1025535] Re: Unity with transparent desktop cube visible over full-screen applications
>From bug 734908: >>vanvugt >It's impossible for an X app to draw on top of the Unity shell because the >Unity shell is part of Compiz and designed to always draw after app windows >(hence appears on top). This is something I have been waiting to hear for about five years-- confirmation and explanation of the actual cause of this bug. Thank you for explaining it clearly. This also makes it clear what needs to be done: >If you want the appearance of Unity not being on top then you need to modify the Unity code so that it doesn't draw itself on top, or not draw itself at all under certain conditions. This is what users have wanted to happen all along. I'm sad to hear you aren't involved anymore, as I know you put significant effort into improving compiz. Do you think any of the current compiz or unity dev team would be willing to resolve this? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1025535 Title: Unity with transparent desktop cube visible over full-screen applications To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/1025535/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
