[Bug 1603273] Re: /usr/include/PythonQt/PythonQtUtils.h is missing.

2016-08-07 Thread Hans Joachim Desserud
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. I found a corresponding Debian bug report and see that
this issue has been fixed in version 3.0-2 in the latest development
version of Ubuntu - Yakkety Yak (see
http://packages.ubuntu.com/yakkety/amd64/libpythonqt-dev/filelist).
Therefore I'm marking this as Fix Released.

This is a significant bug in Ubuntu. If you need a fix for the bug in
previous versions of Ubuntu, please perform as much as possible of the
SRU Procedure [1] to bring the need to a developer's attention.

[Bug 1529079] Re: Can't start virtual machines with installed systemd-container package on Xenial

2016-08-07 Thread Terra Nova
The fix has been merged into systemd via:
https://github.com/systemd/systemd/pull/3676

It appears this was not a libvirt problem and the systemd 'invalid' tag
is incorrect.

Has anyone already created a systemd issue to get it updated with this
patch (I didn't find any)?

[Bug 1610665] [NEW] khotnewstuff4 fails to load providers.xml

2016-08-07 Thread doug
Public bug reported:

After a disk failure, I had to do a completely fresh kubuntu 16.04.1 install.
I decided I hated the breeze style and was looking for something resembling
classic.

Every menu within system-settings that tries to search online for new styles
or icons or whatever, specifies in a file in, for example
/etc/xdg/aurorae.knsrc
that:
ProvidersUrl=http://downloads.kde.org/ocs/providers.xml

Unfortunately, the server now redirects that URL to:
  https://autoconfig.kde.org/ocs/providers.xml

That file should be retrieved by khotnewstuff4, which also works from the
commandline like:

 $> khotnewstuff4 /etc/xdg/aurorae.knsrc

Currently, this fails, I suspect because iether it doesn't know how to handle
the
server redirect, or, it doesn't know how to handle HTTPS.

I grabbed a copy of providers.xml and installed it in an apache2 /var/www/html
folder,
modified the ProvidersUrl to point to it on http://localhost... and then it
worked just fine.

Hope you folks can sort this out!
Thanks

[Bug 1610668] [NEW] sr0 error on boot screen

2016-08-07 Thread Jack
Public bug reported:

Hello

I had performance relate disuses on fresh install of Linux Mint 18,
especially my computers were getting stuck during shut down. Few forums
suggested that upgrade to kernel 4.7 fixes some of the issues so I
though to give it a try.

Firs of all I tried to update my laptop and everything went well.
Performance also improved and slow shutdown and issues of freezing
during shut down also seems to haven't occurred atleast until now.

Later decided to upgrade the kernel on my main work computer as well.
Here again I see improvement in behaviour of my computer but problem is
I see some errors on the boot screen. I have also attached a screen
shot, please check. Never noticed this issue with previous versions of
Linux Mint or after upgrading kernel in the past.

Seemed like issue with CD/DVD drive. I took out the disk out of the DVD
drive and error screen seemed to be vanished. I inserted a blank CD in
the drive and error reappeared but number of error lines reduced. I want
to keep the disk in the drive which I always had in the past without any
issue.

Please look into the issue.

Specifications of the computer:

Linux Mint 18
Kernel 4.7
AMD 8350
Asus M5A97
24 GB RAM
Nvidia 780ti
Asus Xonar D2X soundcard
WD Green 500GB HDD
Asus DVD writer

Thanks and regards

Re: [Bug 1553185] Re: PCI RoCe IB perftest Aborted (core dumped)

2016-08-07 Thread Frank Heimes
Hi Christian,
just a quick answer while being on vacation...

Yes, this definitely makes sense, some RoCE topics already piled up ...

But I need to solve an issue with crypto first (it works on LPAR, but not
yet with shared APs in z/VM - that is why I may need to reactivate the
s1lp1/2s again) and I need to setup the remaining QA / Test machines, as
well as the systems for Dimitri/Foundations and a "Porter-Box" machine ...
- IS is still not able to do much on that.

And for setting all this up we do not seem to have enough main memory / RAM
- hmm:-/
(I already stated to reduce the RAM on some of the systems I work on, from
GENERAL and one from OpenStack ... - biggest chunks of RAM are assigned to
the BUILDERS and Kernel ...)

Well, I have RoCE still in my mind - even if somewhere in the very rear ...
(sorry for that probably unsatisfying reply ...)

Bye, Frank

[Bug 1568604] Re: Mouse cursor lost when unlocking with Intel graphics

2016-08-07 Thread richo
Please excuse me if my comment has no added value for you. I never did
report any bugs on Linux. I tried to report disappearing of the mouse
pointer on Elementary OS 0.4 Loki. (Linux hpbook 4.4.0-31-generic
#50-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jul 13 00:07:12 UTC 2016 x86_64)

I have got here following suggestion that this may be the bug I try to
report.

I am experiencing it when waking up my notebook from Sleep mode. The
workaround switching between vt1 and vt7 restores the mouse pointer.

I wonder how developers of Elementary OS will know about fix for this
issue?

[Bug 1610619] Re: Xscreen saver and lightdm prevent use of operating system (total lockout) after guest session screen lock

2016-08-07 Thread Gunnar Hjalmarsson
Started my Xubuntu system, and noticed that xscreensaver is not
installed by default. The locking mechanism seems to be provided by
light-locker. Also, xscreensaver's lock feature seems to be disabled by
default. Hence it's not clear to me how this issue can be reproduced.
Please clarify.

[Bug 1526233] Re: man page missing parameter

2016-08-07 Thread Hans Joachim Desserud
Thanks for taking your time to report this issue and help making Ubuntu
better.

I see that powertop 2.8-1build1 in Ubuntu 16.04 and later has added a paragraph
on --auto-tune, see
http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/xenial/en/man8/powertop.8.html.
Therefore I believe this issue can be closed. (I also found a corresponding bug
report in Debian, so I attached a bug watch).

[Bug 1600624] Re: MacBook wifi doesn't work (brcmfmac)

2016-08-07 Thread ldc
Issue is in 4.7.0 too.

Wifi *may* stay working for fairly long periods (2-3 hours) in some
lucky instances.

Tests performed:
1. unload/load brcmfmac module.
Result : Interface is stuck in "Link is not ready"

2. suspend system and resume.
Result : Interface is stuck in "Link is not ready"

3. unload brcmfmac module and suspend. After resume manually load the module
again.
Result : Interface is stuck in "Link is not ready"

4. Warm reboot of the system.
Result : Interface is stuck in "Link is not ready"

5. Full shutdown and cold-boot.
Result : Interface comes up as expected and works for some time.

Have not been able to look into activating debug-output from brcmfmac (module
debug-parameter) yet.

[Bug 1610684] [NEW] ubuntu 16.04 won't shutdown : Reached target Shutdown[ok] also ubuntu 14.04 won't shut down : killing all procces [fail]

2016-08-07 Thread Ali Zeynali
Public bug reported:

I had ubuntu 14.04 (DELL laptop INSPIRON N-4110 ) shutdown and reboot
worked correctly and without any problem but after a long time I wasn't
able to reboot or shutdown my machine.

and that was the log message was shown by pressing Esc during shutdown:

killing all procceses [fail]

and I tried all the tips I saw in askubuntu and others(like changing the
grub and shutdown - h now etc none of them have worked ! )

then I clean installed ubuntu 16.04 (current) but issue is not going to
solve.

now the log shows:

[ok] Reached target Shutdown

I checked bug #1464917 and did instructions also but nothings changed .

UPDATE:

after updating to 16.04.1 (boot install) Ubuntu will shutdown if i do it
fast when OS is coming up but after a while it's not going to power off
again and Esc key won't work and does not show me log any more

2016-08-07 Thread Damiön la Bagh
Ha,ha,ha :D
On the first laptop I now get the message:
"Sorry, your system lacks support for the snapshot feature"

That's one way of solving the bug. :D

I'm upgrading another laptop with the same btrfs config to see what
message I get there.

[Bug 375905] Re: Mouse focus gets stuck over control objects

2016-08-07 Thread John LaRocque
This occurs with my Lenovo T460 with Ubuntu 16.04. It happens quite
frequently, especially when using the trackpoint buttons (normal mouse
function can be restored temporarily by switching to the console (Alt +
F1) and back). The problem can be prevented by disabling the Trackpoint
and its buttons in the BIOS. This may be somewhat hardware related,
because while all parts of the Trackpoint and Trackpad usually function
normally and the symptoms seem to be a software/window focus problem,
there are also similar window focus issues with Windows 10.

[Bug 1569147] Re: onscreen keyboard doesn't trigger url bar's drop-down list

2016-08-07 Thread yoyoma2
The bug has gotten worse in firefox 48.0 for ubuntu canonical. Now when
the bug occurs, the "Enter" key also does nothing in the awesome bar (we
are still talking about an onscreen keyboard like "onboard").

Workaround #2:

Click on the right arrow to go to the address in the location bar
instead of clicking "Enter".

[Bug 1608198] Re: upgrade 14.04 LTS to 16.04.1 LTS impossible

2016-08-07 Thread Wolfgang Fahl
in my case
apt-get remove ros-indigo-ros-base
apt-get autoremove
root@capri:/etc/apt/sources.list.d# mkdir /home/wf/sources.list
root@capri:/etc/apt/sources.list.d# mv ros* /home/wf/sources.list/

seems to have been the necessary step so grep "Broken" /var/log/dist-
upgrade//apt.log was the first step in finding this out. The do-
release-upgrade script should IMHO point to a wiki entry where these
issues are discussed so that people can discuss there personal PPA
situation and fixes.

[Bug 1610698] [NEW] password warning when numlock is on

2016-08-07 Thread Ian Nicholson
Public bug reported:

When logging into a gui session or unlocking the screen of an existing
session, the password field displays a warning notification when
numlock is on. This should be reversed, as the non-numeric functions of
the numpad are irrelevant at that point to the user(home/end,
pageup/pagedown), while the numeric input(0-9) are potentially quite
important to the user.

2016-08-07 Thread Axel Beckert
> trying to overwrite '/usr/bin/ack', which is the diverted version of
'/usr/bin/ack-grep'

There never was a diversion of ack-grep to ack in the package. This
error message looks a lot like a diversion done by the local system
administrator, i.e. is a problem of a local, unsupported modification.

Remove to local diversion (e.g. with "dpkg-divert --remove /usr/bin/ack-
grep" as root) and the package will install fine.

[Bug 1610694] Re: installation crashes during switch display from mDP->HDML to mDP->DP

2016-08-07 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We noticed that you were installing the LTS version of
Ubuntu using an older version of the installation media. The latest
point release of 16.04 is 16.04.1. Please try installing from that
version of the installation media and see if that resolves your issue.
Thanks in advance!
