[Bug 1603611] Re: package libnspr4:amd64 2:4.12-0ubuntu0.15.10.1 failed to install/upgrade: package libnspr4:amd64 is already installed and configured
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1407757 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1407757 Auto bug reporting led me here. Updated to Kernel 4.2.0-42 from 0-36 and everything graphics related went to #@&*. Constant spam of 'an error occurred' and attempting anything with the package manager gets a lot more requests to submit bug reports. The core cause seems to be something related to nvidia drivers and that kernel update although I am not sure on this. I don't know how they might be related (perhaps the first graphics crash caused an interruption to the package manager doing something important?) Using nvidia drivers 352-63 on a GTX 750Ti. I managed to get unity to run by cleaning out all my configs and switching back to the older kernel, but apt seems to be irrevocably broken. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1603611 Title: package libnspr4:amd64 2:4.12-0ubuntu0.15.10.1 failed to install/upgrade: package libnspr4:amd64 is already installed and configured To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dpkg/+bug/1603611/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1608190] [NEW] Make it easier to automate "apt update" setup command
Public bug reported: If you use autopkgtest in a development release, you have to remember to either manually run 'apt update' first or pass --setup-commands="apt update" to autopkgtest, as documented in the manpage. I would be happier if I could set this to happen automatically, perhaps through an environment variable or config file. Or instead, how about just enabling the "apt update" setup command by default? [Bug 1183692] Re: Not enough disk space for kernel security update on /boot
Agree with the above. There should be a simple, foolproof-as-possible way to manage boot device free space. I am currently trying to rescue my wife's computer from an incomplete 14.04LTS -> 16.04LTS upgrade that has failed near the end because it ran out of space on /boot. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN! Maybe I should have known to check for adequate free space on /boot before doing an upgrade, but if I should have known that, so should the upgrader and it should have checked and warned me BEFORE STARTING the upgrade! Ideally the upgrade process should offer the option of clearing out old kernels (there were only 2 there apart from the one in use) before proceeding. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1183692 Title: Not enough disk space for kernel security update on /boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/1183692/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem. 2. The behavior you expected. 3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Please also change the title of the bug to something more meaningful. [Bug 1608190] Re: Make it easier to automate "apt update" setup command
"apt update" is rather expensive, I'd rather not force this upon each test run. It will also not work on read-only testbeds such as Ubuntu Touch or snappy. Also, you don't need --setup-commands for that, you can just use the -U /--apt-upgrade option; this will also run dist-upgrade, but one really must do that when running a test on an outdated testbed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1608190 Title: Make it easier to automate "apt update" setup command To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/autopkgtest/+bug/1608190/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1586962] Re: Impossible to select screen rate
No, an option for that could not "always be" just because of this bug report: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=655041 It was created in 2011, and people are still experiencing issues now (last meaasge: 2016-07-16 14:24:06 UTC). I attach a screenshot of the display settings window. I have changed the resolution using this settings once, and since that GNOME sets the screen rate to maximum, which causes alignment problems on my monitor (multiple people experience the same issue on GNOME Bugzilla). So, I have to add an xrandr command to autostart. As this question suggests, there is no better way since 2012! http://askubuntu.com/questions/147580/how-to-see-change-screen-refresh-rate-or-monitor-frequency So please, don't redirect the issue. ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #655041 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=655041 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1586962 Title: Impossible to select screen rate To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1586962/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1590990] Re: USB exploit - cross platform
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1393612 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1393612 Dear Seth, Indeed but surely there is a solution for this. You can say the same thing about every other message that should be displayed to the user in every configuration/setup of Ubuntu/Linux. I sent an email to the OSS security mail list, whose address appears at the following URL: http://oss-security.openwall.org/wiki/mailing-lists/oss-security (i.e. "oss [dash] security [at] lists [dot] openwall [dot] com" ) I'm sorry but I don't know which packages should be modified, I'm not well familiar with Ubuntu/Linux. BTW in every setup or configuration of Linux there is *some* interactive way to alert the user about an error or problem. Why it is so complicated when dealing with our current problem ? The user *must* have a screen and a keyboard. Thus the message will be displayed either via the command-line terminal or via the GUI. (I don't understand what's the problem here...) I had hoped that in "" there is some clue what's wrong on your system, that's why I asked for unshortened. Not sure what's "gnome3 staging packages", I don't know that. But I guess some Gnome staging PPA has the potential to conflict with a Wine PPA. [Bug 1605835] Re: Apport won't open web browser and submit to launchpad
This has been happening to me too. A program crashes, and the dialog pops up showing the sigsegv etc and then I click to report the crash, but the dialog closes and no browser window opens. It's really bad... lots of crashes must be going un-reported on 16.04! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1605835 Title: Apport won't open web browser and submit to launchpad To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/1605835/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
