[Bug 1598805] Re: implement zoom in/zoom out [desktop]
If Mir is part of this bug at all, then it was implemented a few years ago in mir_proving_server (Super+mousewheel) and still works today. It's fun and super-smooth. If Unity8 would like to reuse that implementation instead of doing its own then I'm open to the idea of moving the code into a location where USC can trigger it. On that note, I've been thinking there may be some full-screen effects (zoom/contrast/negative) that are better implemented in the system compositor than Unity8. So they work seemlessly between sessions. Also as an added bonus: They already exist in mir_proving_server (Super+wheel/C/N). So again, I'm open to the idea of moving these existing effects to a location where USC can use them... ** Also affects: mir Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: mir Status: New => Fix Released ** Changed in: mir (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1598805 Title: implement zoom in/zoom out [desktop] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mir/+bug/1598805/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1599649] Re: High CPU usage on arale when running simple clients with animations
Two things worth noting: 1. arale performance is quite poor, and we've known this for a long time. I mean the device itself. Its frequency governor keeps clock speeds so low for so long what frame rates rarely appear smooth (see bug 1488386). This is however a bug in the arale kernel drivers and not a bug in Mir or Unity8 that we can easily work around. 2. Are you sure 20-30% counts as high or a bug on this particular device? CPU usage varies wildly between graphics drivers and sometimes high CPU for constantly rendering is unavoidable. A good example is desktop -- you will find the Intel graphics driver uses very little CPU whereas Nvidia will use large amounts of CPU. Whether this is a bug or a feature that allows the driver to improve performance internally is not a question we can easily answer. I'm not sure this is a Mir bug at all, or something we can improve in the above components at least. ** Changed in: mir Status: New => Incomplete ** Changed in: mir (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1599649 Title: High CPU usage on arale when running simple clients with animations To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mir/+bug/1599649/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1588952] Re: krdc does not agree with kdewallet manager about where the wallet lives
I noticed the same thing here. I see the krdc wallet won't remain open, so I have to unlock it every use. After some research I found: ~/.kde/share/apps/kwallet is used for kde4 applications only. ~/.local/share/kwallet is used for kde5 applications only. The kde4/5 wallet encryption is not compatible, so linking will not work. Probably the cipher is different between the kde4 and kde5 wallets. krdc is a kde4 application, so uses the ".kde" wallet. The KDE Wallet Manager is kde5, so uses the ".local" wallet. [Bug 435571] Re: Conky looks in the wrong sysfs dir for hwmon temperature info
Same problem here. I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 and Conky 1.8.1. I've got 3 hwmon entries in '/sys/class/hwmon': 0, 1, 2 for k10temp, it8720 and nouveau, respectively. After several boots 'hwmon0' and 'hwmon1' swap their places and ${hwmon 1 fan 1} and ${hwmon 1 temp 2} (for CPU fan and temperature, respectively) cannot find their data anymore and Conky crashes. Possibly this happens because some modules change their load order. While I haven't found how this can be influenced, this issue can be resolved by changing sensor. Conky has got 'i2c' and 'platform' variables for the monitoring purposes in addition to 'hwmon'. Platform devices are also symlinks, but they have more distinctive names. I changed my variables to ${platform it87.552 fan 1} and ${platform it87.552 temp 2} and this fixed the issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/435571 Title: Conky looks in the wrong sysfs dir for hwmon temperature info To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/conky/+bug/435571/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1602153] [NEW] Please add a way to create a Manager instance with a custom QDBusConnection
Public bug reported: For my project's test suite, I use libqtdbustest to set up a private session bus in order to isolate them from my user session, and to isolate tests from each other. To work reliably, tests need to use the QDBusConnection provided by libqtdbustest rather than the shared connection returned by QDBusConnection:sessionBus(). At present there is no way to tell libOnlineAccountsQt to use an alternative connection, so it may end up trying to talk to a stale session bus that has been shut down. Ideally, I'd like a second constructor to Manager that takes a connection. Something like: Manager(const QString& applicationId, const QDBusConnection& bus, QObject *parent=nullptr); After quick look at the source code, this doesn't look like it'd be too difficult to add. ** Affects: online-accounts-api (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1602153 Title: Please add a way to create a Manager instance with a custom QDBusConnection To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/online-accounts-api/+bug/1602153/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that there was an error on your system when trying to install a particular package. Please execute the following command, as it will clear your package cache, in a terminal: sudo apt-get clean Then try performing the update again. This will likely resolve your issue, but the failure could be caused by filesystem or memory corruption. So please also run a fsck on your filesystem(s) and a memory test. Thanks in advance!
