[Bug 1543820] Re: jmespath.php: add nocheck and stage1 build profiles
Change in pkg-php-tools versioned build-dep not required for stage1 build profile support, we should omit this change. It seems like there should be a way to disable the tests without having to patch DEB_BUILD_PROFILE support into the upstream Makefile. Certainly for the 'test' target, this could be dealt with in debian/rules instead using the usual override_dh_auto_test logic. For the 'coverage' target, the fact that this is a dependency of the 'all' target makes this harder. Does the phpab tool support invoking alternate build targets? BTW, I think I told you that I don't care about how clean the stage1 implementations are for bootstrapping. This is absolutely true. However, because the bootstrap itself is still blocked on the availability of a suitable php-pear package (and in particular the Debian orig.tar.gz - bug #1543324), it's useful to "stage" the stage1 implementations in the Ubuntu archive, turning the bootstrap portion into a simple set of rebuilds of the official Ubuntu source, with varying build options. And if the package is going to be staged in the Ubuntu archive, it should be clean. As soon as you give us a php-pear package to use for starting the bootstrap, I will be happy to stop giving you this nitpicky feedback on the stage1 packages - unless you want it :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1543820 Title: jmespath.php: add nocheck and stage1 build profiles To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/jmespath.php/+bug/1543820/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This bug seems to apply even if English is default, or "echo $LANG" produces en_US.UTF-8 In any case, instead of creating a new script, it may be easier just to edit the existing wrapper script (i.e., the result of ls -al `which google-earth` which on my system is /opt/google/earth/free/googleearth) and add the line export LANG=en_US between the definition of FindPath and script_path=$(FindPath $0); -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1160289 Title: Google earth search does not zoom onto a location To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/googleearth-package/+bug/1160289/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1285951] Re: bluetooth indicator disappears after turning off bluetooth
Then this is a bug of design/UX. 1) Why is there an option ON/OFF in the tray icon's dropdown if you can only use OFF? 2) Also, why does it say "Show Bluetooth status in the menu bar" in Bluetooth settings window – when it _only_ shows status when it's on (shows nothing when it's off)? 3) I often turn bluetooth on and off (almost daily), so it's quite inconvenient to have to go to bluetooth settings every time I want it back on (I have to use two different locations to do the same action: switch the state of my bluetooth adapter) My proposal: in "Bluetooth" settings window replace the "Show Bluetooth status in the menu bar" with a dropdown: "Always show Bluetooth status in the menu bar", "Show when on", "Don't show in menu bar". [Bug 1533206] Re: Blueman-applet crash on login: DBusException in call_blocking(): org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.TimedOut: Failed to activate service 'org.bluez': timed out
In my case this happens, when the bluetooth hardware wasn't initialized by kernel, e.g. it was toggled off by hardware switch (maybe software off might work as well). In such case /sys/class/bluetooth is not created, which prevents the bluetooth.service to start: systemctl status bluetooth ● bluetooth.service - Bluetooth service Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/bluetooth.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled) Active: inactive (dead) Condition: start condition failed at So 2016-02-14 12:37:00 CET; 4s ago ConditionPathIsDirectory=/sys/class/bluetooth was not met This means that bluetoothd is not running and thus does not provide the org.bluez dbus service, which in turn is what blueman is complaining about. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1533206 Title: Blueman-applet crash on login: DBusException in call_blocking(): org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.TimedOut: Failed to activate service 'org.bluez': timed out To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/blueman/+bug/1533206/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1544543] Re: org.mpris.MediaPlayer2.MediaHub player is exposed at startup, making the indicator show a player that it's not fully functional
To clarify, “indicator-sound can simply hide itself” should be “indicator-sound can simply omit the playback section of the menu”. The rest of the menu should still be present. I doubt that’s a good solution, though, for two reasons. First, if a system component pretends to be an app, that pseudo-app will keep appearing confusingly in places we don’t expect: trust prompts, storage consumption UI, network activity UI, etc. Needing to hide it in every place it might appear is just asking for bugs. Second, it would mean there are no playback controls in many cases where people would expect them. The player should be whichever app the user sees as being responsible for the playback. So in the case of Media Hub, the player is whichever app sent the stream to Media Hub. Here’s a perfectly reasonable but probably-difficult-to-implement test case: 1. Send a message to a Gmail address, containing a link to a YouTube music video. 2. In the Gmail app, open the message. 3. Start playing the video. 4. Switch to another app. 5. Open the sound menu. What you should see: “Gmail” with playback controls. What you currently see: “Media Player” with no playback controls. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1544543 Title: org.mpris.MediaPlayer2.MediaHub player is exposed at startup, making the indicator show a player that it's not fully functional To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1544543/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1159707] Re: Cinnamon panel / task bar becomes unresponsive to mouse
I had this with Linux Mint 17.2 yesterday, updated to 17.3, and had the problem again today. However, I fixed it by (without losing the session): Swapping to another user (ie another virtual terminal) sudo -s ps -edf | grep "cinnamon --replace" finding the pid of "cinnamon --replace" for *my* user (ie, the hung session) Killing that pid: kill Swapping back to my user (the previously hung session) clicking on a terminal window (not root) entering: cinnamon --replace Everything was back to normal. :-) This only help if you have/can get a terminal window! [Bug 1545450] [NEW] Severe Qt visual corruption with default Qt theme under Unity
Public bug reported: No doubt 'unity' is the wrong package, but I don't know the correct package name for the default theme when running Qt applications under Unity. Apologies for that. Problem: when running many Qt applications in the Unity desktop, they are unusable because of severe visual corruption. The corruption is caused by the default Qt theme. On the command line, the error output is like this: (vlc:8190): Gtk-CRITICAL **: IA__gtk_widget_style_get: assertion 'GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed I have attached a screenshot showing the About window for VLC. The contents of the window are corrupted, and the window's title bar extend across the desktop. When a Qt application allows the use of another theme, choosing a theme like "motif" eliminates the problem. This is why I'm fairly certain the bug is triggered by using the default Qt theme, and not Qt itself, or Qt applications. Moreover, on IRC another user could not replicate the problem when running under KDE. The problem does not exist in Wily. Thank you. Re: [Bug 1542708] Re: amd Driver Graphical Problem.
Helol, I'm sending the images provided by i-nex. For prevention, I use my computer in poly-boot system with other operating systems. Luckily, I keep Ubuntu on *gnome* version elsewhere on my hard drive, so I can use the canonical system that caters to almost 100% of my needs. But I find it strange that the simple exchange of drives to the one provided by AMD has started a big problem in terms of access to various system software. I tried to see if he could deal with an intrusion attempt initiated by some cracker. For this I downloaded the central ubuntu program application "SNORT" to determine possible security vulnerabilities. I had some difficulty in setting it up to simulate the promised vulnerability testing, and then no longer used the snort application. But when I try to update the system from my defective ubuntu, during package installation, the system alerts that snort is trying to become active, even if I have not asked, which is starting to make me believe that to solve a problem, just creating another in relation to "snort", being self triggered exactly when system upgrade. I'm already resigned to use the open source driver for your video card, no problem in not being able to rely on AMD's development team for my board hd 8330g. No problem, since practically do not have the habit of playing games, it was only a short phase of experience with central ubuntu games and with the steam. The problem is that I'm no direct access to directory files and the central system configuration. After you have downloaded the snort'm also without access to central ubuntu programs. When I click the terminal icon tamém the system back to the login screen. The same happens when Teclo ctrl + alt + f1, the tembém system back to the login screen. Only firefox works. For this Teclo the Browser icon and it accesses the Internet without problems. Honestly, even if the unity has suffered a bug still I prefer it instead of gnome interface I'm using an emergency basis at this time. Even if you use more PC memory, the interface of the "unity" it is more accessible and enjoyable than the gnome being used to help shape this time. Particularly very gnome like, since version 2 at the moment can be found in the distribution "mate", but use Linux in "unity" version is what differentiates the canonical system compared to other operating systems.
