[Bug 1495024] [NEW] Dictionary for gd locale is outdated in Ubuntu

2015-09-12 Thread GunChleoc
Public bug reported:

The Hunspell dictionary for Scottish Gaelic is seriously outdated in
Ubuntu. There are a lot of words that it doesn't recognize but that it
will recognize with Windows versions of the same software.

I noticed this in Firefox and LibreOffice.

General information about the gd package can be found on:

http://www.igaidhlig.net/en/an-dearbhair-beag-2/

[Bug 1480740] Re: Thunar causes kernel hard lock

2015-09-12 Thread Kip Warner
Hey Christopher. Thank you very much for your help. Funny enough, I did
update the BIOS firmware a few days ago at the same time I upgraded to
Wily. Whichever it was, the hard lock seems to have disappeared.

$ sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
2501
06/24/2015

Would you like me to still report this as Confirmed?

[Bug 1335492] Re: [4.11.8] Desktop icons rearrange on each login

2015-09-12 Thread Thomas Schweikle
As for my analysis of this bug: it can't be gone at all, because there
is a chance the data read to position the icons is read slower than the
icons are positioned by default. There is no guaranty this could not
happen looking at the code written. The bug isn't fixed at all!

2015-09-12 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Reviewing your dmesg attachment in this bug report it
seems that there is a problem with your hardware. I recommend
performing a back up and then investigating the situation. Measures you
might take include checking cable connections and using software tools
to investigate the health of your hardware. In the event that is is not
in fact an error with your hardware please set the bug's status back to
New. Thanks and good luck!

[Bug 1495030] [NEW] lightdm-gtk-greeter hangs, leaving session locked with gray screen

2015-09-12 Thread Lars W
Public bug reported:

On a fresh Xubuntu 15.04 install, I created a new user. When I lock the
session (or resume from standby, which also locks the session), I see
nothing but a screen in light gray. After about a minnute, the screen
goes black (power safe), pressing any key brings back the gray screen.
There is no possibility to unlock the session. Ctrl+Alt+F1 brings me to
terminal, where I can see with `top` that "lightdm-gtk-greeter" takes
100% CPU.

The log contains warnings about background images that can not be read.
I believe those are warnings only and not fatal errors.

Even with these upgraded versions I keep getting:

[Bug 1335492]

2015-09-12 Thread Thomas Schweikle
This bug is not fixed at all. There is a good chance reading icon positions
from $HOME/.config/xfce4/desktop.conf is not finished before reading icons from
$HOME/Desktop having icons rearrange. There is no locking nothing to make sure
the icon positions are known BEFORE starting to read "Desktop".
And if this occurs the icons WILL again rearrange!
It will depend on how many applications you start, on IO-load, what is done in
background. Processes reading many small files from disk, like
man-page-updates, can trigger it.
A fast look at what the code does made clear: you do not have anything making
sure the two threads: read "Desktop", read "Config" are not forced to run after
each other. The part positioning the icons isn't locked at all. It will run
concurrently to read config if read desktop is finished. It is triggered every
time an item is read from read Desktop -- regardless reading configs is ready
or not.

[Bug 271487] Re: terminator need to highlight search string

2015-09-12 Thread Egmont Koblinger
Highlighting is done by vte, it can't highlight more than 1 match at a
time. I _think_ search is also handled by vte and at most 1 match per
logical line is returned.

Adding this feature would require extending vte's capabilities. I'm open
to that, let's hope vte's main developer is also willing to accept this.
Plus we need someone to implement it, I can't promise I'll have time.

Hijacking the accessibility framework doesn't sound right to me at all.

[Bug 1495043] [NEW] Suspend/Resume Regression 3.19.0-28-generic Dell xps15

2015-09-12 Thread Mark Pointing
Public bug reported:

Suspend resume was working on 3.19.0-26 but 3.19.0-28 appears to
suspend, but no longer resumes. Relevant portion of dmesg info using
pm-trace is as follows:

[1.400305] Write protecting the kernel read-only data: 12288k

To reproduce the bug:
1) Boot into Ubuntu Gnome with kernel 3.19.0.28-generic
2) Log in to desktop.
3) Close laptop lid
4) Wait about 10 seconds (doesn't seem to be critical how long you wait)
5) Open laptop lid.

What happens:
The keyboard backlight and the power button light come on, but the screen
remains blank. Using Ctr-Alt-F1 does nothing (can't get to a virtual console,
indicating that it's not just X that has stopped)

What I expect to happen:
On opening of the laptop lid, I expect the lockscreen to show.

Other info:
This laptop has nvidia graphics disabled using nvidia-prime

poppler nss signature support - v5 - refactor

Here's a new patch following Albert's recommendations.
We've expanded the FormFieldSignature and FormFieldWidget classes to expose the
signature method.

We also added checking for non-supported signature types as we only
support pkcs7.detached signatures at the moment.

This patch only includes the changes to poppler core and the
pdfsigverify utility, glib still needs changes to move the validation
from poppler_document to poppler_form_field.

[Bug 738526]

2015-09-12 Thread Keith Packard
Created attachment 118203
Allow font library to return Suspended more than once per request

fonts: Continue when font calls return Suspended more than once

Patch 3ab6cd31cbdf8095b2948034fce5fb645422d8da fixed Xinerama
interactions with font servers by not putting clients to sleep
multiple times. However, it introduced additional changes dealing with
libXfont routine returning Suspended more than once for the same
request. This additional change was to abandon processing of the
current request and free the closure data by jumping to
'xinerama_sleep' in each of the functions.

Font library functions shouldn't return Suspended more than once,
except for ListFontsWithInfo, which produces multiple replies, and
thus ends up returning Suspended many times during processing.

With the jump to xinerama_sleep occurring after the first reply was
processed, the closure for the request was freed and future calls into
the ListFontsWithInfo callback resulted in dereferencing freed
memory.

This patch removes the added branches, reverting the code to its
previous behaviour, which permitted multiple Suspended returns and
simply waited for the client to be signaled again so that the callback
could continue processing the request.

can guarantee that LTS versions are good (even more than just relying on

[Bug 1494822] Re: [MIR] LibreOffice dependencies in universe

2015-09-12 Thread Matthias Klose
I looked at the package, and made some changes, bringing it to current
standards. It looks fine except for the disabled testsuite. I enabled it
now, ignoring the results. Please could either you or Timo look at the
tests and see if this is an issue with the test environment or the test
itself? Test log is included in the build log.

FAIL: test

There are some issues:

 - OpenDriver tries first /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/tls/swrast_dri.so, which
   doesn't exist. Why?
 - It then fails later with error: No matching fbConfigs or visuals found. Why?
 - Also the test itself tries to open a data file, and fails. Why?

Please could you also subscribe the desktop team to bug reports? The
LibreOffice Team is not monitored afaik.

[Bug 1463672] Re: -a and -all swith for dpkg-reconfigure do not work under 15.04

2015-09-12 Thread Colin Watson
This feature was intentionally removed:

debconf (1.5.52) unstable; urgency=low

  [Joey Hess]
  * Remove dpkg-reconfigure -a, which existed only to accumulate bug
reports about bugs in other packages.
Closes: #721329, #664825, #558262, #617618, #707987

You can certainly use workarounds such as enumerating all other packages
and reconfiguring them individually, although it is not generally a
useful thing to do.

[Bug 1495063] [NEW] Networking occasionally doesn't recover from suspend

2015-09-12 Thread Phill
Public bug reported:

Occasionally, networking is disabled upon recovery from suspend.
Clicking "Enable Networking" on the menu from the notification icon has
no effect. It requires network-manager to be restarted with `service
network-manager restart`.

I can't identify a pattern to the problem. I can suspend the computer
for minutes or hours without it happening.

I've not noticed it on other computers running 14.04 that I have, so
it's probably limited to my this particular hardware.

I didn't notice it on previous versions of Ubuntu on this hardware.
However, due to the nature of the problem it will not be practical to
bisect the kernel as I don't have a reliable method of reproducing the
fault as of yet.

My network devices are as follows (I use the wireless one only):

Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI
Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 02)
Network controller: Qualcomm Atheros AR9287 Wireless Network Adapter

[Bug 1495062] [NEW] QML project .desktop Exec line incorrectly uses $@

2015-09-12 Thread Stuart Langridge
Public bug reported:

On creating a new QML project, the Exec line in appname.desktop is set
to

Exec=qmlscene "$@" Main.qml

This is incorrect. $@ is a Bash parameter substitution, and will not be
executed. Instead, Exec lines must use field codes, as per
http://standards.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/desktop-entry-spec-
latest.html#exec-variables, so this line should perhaps be

Exec=qmlscene %U Main.qml

so that URLs passed to the app (for example, from the URLDispatcher) are
correctly put on the app's command line and so are retrieveable by the
app itself.

[Bug 1495067] Re: Files application open new window when current open /media/disklabel

2015-09-12 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1495067/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[Bug 1495028] Re: package cups-browsed 1.0.52-0ubuntu1.5 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-removal script returned error exit status 2
