[Bug 1440032] Re: nm-applet is missing the Sierra EM7345 4G LTE
I updated the BIOS to the latest Version 1.16 and still nothing has changed. Randomly after reboot the card is working without a problem, and after standby or another reboot it isn't. Another T450s (1 week old) has the same problem. Installed BIOS version was 1.14, we updated to 1.16 and the card isn't working at all. The card has the same usb id. Both systems are running Ubuntu 15.04. Same mobile provider (T-Mobile). After a cold boot, the modemanager is asking for the SIM pin at the login screen :-/ entering the pin isn't working because of the missing permissions at this point. After cancel the SIM pin window and enter the login password, you have to enter the password for sudo enable the mobile datacard. very strange! [Bug 1492534] [NEW] USB devices fail to automount unless Thunar is running
Public bug reported: I'm running Xubuntu 14.04.3: 3.13.0-57-generic #95-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jun 19 09:28:15 UTC 2015 x86_64 GNU/Linux DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=14.04 DISTRIB_CODENAME=trusty DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS" thunar: Installed: 1.6.3-1ubuntu5 Candidate: 1.6.3-1ubuntu5 Version table: *** 1.6.3-1ubuntu5 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status with all the latest updates. I run this on three different machines - my home desktop, my work desktop and my home laptop. As of about two weeks ago, I upgraded my home desktop to an Intel base, and last week it stopped automounting any USB disk/flash drives UNLESS Thunar is also running when I plug the drives in. (My work desktop is also an Intel base and this never happens there.) This happens for my usual flash drives and also my SATA-USB3 conversion plug-in tray. When the drive plugs in, it shows up in lsusb, but the notification never appears, df does not see it and I can't access it normally. I discovered that, if I am not running Thunar when the drive is plugged in, I can run it, then click on the drive icon in the left vertical panel, and that mounts the drive. If I am running Thunar, it mounts (semi)automatically with full notification, just like it used to without Thunar.. I have checked the Removable Drives and Media panel of settings, and the Mount removable drives when hot plugged and Mount removable media when inserted boxes are both checked. What I expected to happen: The drive mounts and is visible in df and accessible for all normal commands. What happened was: The drive shows up in lsusb but nowhere else unless Thunar is running or I start it up and click on the drive name. ** Affects: udisks (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1492534 Title: USB devices fail to automount unless Thunar is running To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/udisks/+bug/1492534/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1416557] Re: [Acer Aspire V5-573G] suspend/resume failure
So I've comprehensively failed to git bisect what is apparently neither a mainline kernel version (mainline only has 3.14, not 3.14.51, and I can't figure out how to get around the lack of a debian.master/changelog file) nor available in the utopic repository (which has 3.13 and 3.16 kernels, but neither of the ones I'm interested in). I've also never built a kernel before so don't have enough baseline knowledge to go beyond copy and pasting commands which I don't really understand. I suspect that the resume problem has something to do with the changes made in https://01.org/suspendresume/blogs/tebrandt/2013/hard-disk- resume-optimization-simpler-approach. These were made between 3.14.51 and 3.15.0-RC1, I think. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to revert just these patches to test them individually. [Bug 822479] Re: Massive Evolution Mail memory leak
I'm not sure if this is directly related but I notice a massive memory link with writing email with HTML content, such as pasted content from a webpage. This also applies to images that are inserted, as these create HTML containers around the images, thus causing a leak. The leak is apparent when pressing backspace after HTML content has been inserted. Typing is fast and responsive, but backspace takes one to two seconds to complete. It's often faster to highlight and delete than to press backspace. This leak causes sending of messages to freeze the window, causing it to grey out. As a final note, I've found that including a signature and attempting to delete it will crash Evolution instantly, although this may be an unrelated bug. [Bug 1492546] [NEW] Systemd runs ifdown on shutdown even when it shouldn't
Public bug reported: The unit /lib/systemd/system/ifup@.service is Debian and Ubuntu specific, it's not part of upstream systemd. On shutdown, it unconditionally ifdowns all interfaces: ExecStop=/sbin/ifdown %I This is a regression from previous init systems (sysvinit and upstart) which cared so that when a network file system was in use, they didn't ifdown the interfaces. Specifically, both /etc/init.d/networking and /etc/init/networking contain these functions: check_network_file_systems() check_network_swaps() which output the message "not deconfiguring network interfaces: network file systems still mounted" and exit. So, please call the same functions in the ExecStop= part of ifup@.service. ** Affects: ltsp (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: systemd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Martin Pitt (pitti) Status: New ** Also affects: ltsp (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1492546 Title: Systemd runs ifdown on shutdown even when it shouldn't To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ltsp/+bug/1492546/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1492546] Re: Systemd runs ifdown on shutdown even when it shouldn't
This also affects LTSP, e.g. Wily clients can't shutdown because /sbin/poweroff is no longer accessible once ifup@.service unmounts /dev/nbd0. If systemd is fixed in Ubuntu before 15.10 is released, problem solved, otherwise we'll need to commit the following in upstream LTSP. Script /usr/share/ltsp/init-ltsp.d/50-systemd-ifup: if [ -f /lib/systemd/system/ifup@.service ]; then mkdir -p /etc/systemd/system/ifup@$DEVICE.service.d cat > /etc/systemd/system/ifup@$DEVICE.service.d/ltsp.conf

[Bug 772709] Re: Network Manager Icon Is not changin when VPN is connected (nm-device-wired-secure icon is missing)
Also, this is a security problem. It robs the user of the ability to easily see that the VPN is (still) connected. If the VPN goes down, and the user doesn't happen to see the momentary pop-up message (or if that message has been accidentally or deliberately suppressed), the user will think his communications are encrypted when they are actually exposed. It can easily be exploited: 1. Distract the user or wait until he looks away from his screen. 2. Interfere with the internet connection for a few seconds, causing the user's VPN to fail. 3. Capture the user's packets. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/772709 Title: Network Manager Icon Is not changin when VPN is connected (nm-device- wired-secure icon is missing) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-icon-theme/+bug/772709/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 740506]
I've had look at the code (in poppler/ not glib/ i'll leave that to the glib/ experts) and have some minor and some major comments. Minor: * There's 3 use of malloc i could find, for completion i guess it's better if you use gmalloc * SigStatusStruct should be a C++ class Medium: * I'm not convinced getSigningTime should return a char *, i'd very much prefer it returning an integer and shifting the responsability to turn it into a string to upper layers, since allows for translations, etc. Major: * There's lots of repeated code (the loops searching for "Annot"+"Sig" some of these with more checks for nulls than others) and some functions that make no sense in PDFDoc like Object *getByteRange(int index); If you see in Form::Form we're already parsing "Fields" and creating FormFieldSignature for each "Sig" object. My suggestion is that you expand FormFieldSignature with your implementation. That also solves API issues like for for example getSignerName should not be in PDFDoc since you need to have called validateSignature before and then it returns the signer name for the signature of that index, so it should be part of a signature object, i.e. FormFieldSignature. Re: [Bug 1241986] Re: Cannot connect to WPA/WPA2, EAP-PEAP, MSCHAPV2 network
Hi, I've got a quick update. I've finally sorted out the connection problem, i.e. I've changed the network password to a minimum of 8 characters. It works OK the first time I connect up, but the second time it keeps asking me the password again and again. So I have to manually delete the connection and the same as above. Public bug reported: I am running a newly installed and updated Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS on a Samsung P500 Laptop (Model NP-P500I, NP-P500-RA01DE).
