[Bug 1403758] Re: Unity8 shows black screen with Qt 5.4.0
With some more building, it seems compiling qtbase with GCC5 does not help in enabling the upstream (now default in Qt 5.5 & 5.4.2) patches, bringing back the -Bsymbolic for armhf and using the -reduce-relocations option. The symptoms are similar with this qtbase compiled with GCC5. I've saved the compilation at https://launchpad.net/~timo- jyrinki/+archive/ubuntu/qt-reduce-relocations and attaching unity8.log (with "Cannot assign object to list"). ** Attachment added: "unity8.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity8/+bug/1403758/+attachment/4406467/+files/unity8.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1403758 Title: Unity8 shows black screen with Qt 5.4.0 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/binutils/+bug/1403758/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1446177] Re: Nodeinfo returns wrong NUMA topology / bad virtualization performance
Some of the comments I made serve more to help my own memory jumping on and off the issue. ;) Basically the nodeinfo looks like libvirt ran into thinking that there is no node subtree in sysfs. Then it sets the number of nodes to 1 and directly scans the cpu subtree. I quickly did scan the upstream git tree of libvirt and did not find something obvious. I may have missed things or maybe it is the kernel that changed for the better. What I got in mind would be to make a special version of libvirt that has a lot logging around the area of obtaining the nodeinfo. If this can be tried on a non-production server, I think this will be less painful for all. If its ok for everyone to wait that long. I would go and prepare the test package(s) (Trusty/14.04 version) and post a link to them here. The debugging would be on error level, so the log level of libvirtd can be kept to errors (avoiding to fill up the log with other stuff). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1446177 Title: Nodeinfo returns wrong NUMA topology / bad virtualization performance To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/1446177/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This included object downloads, which would in turn cause etag or content-length mismatch errors. (See bug 1338464) This was apparently added in response to a third-party proxy sitting between the client and server which, having observed that the client would accept gzip-encoded content while the server sent an unencoded response, would perform the compression. (See bug 1282861) Now, we'll no longer let requests send any default headers, nor do any decoding. [Bug 1459121] Re: Screen doesn't wake up when on minimum brightness
** Description changed: - ubuntu 15.04 for phones beta r.223 (bq aquaris ubuntu edition) + ubuntu 15.10 for phones beta r.223 (bq aquaris ubuntu edition) Since r.222 upgrade i noticed that sometimes I cant unlock the phone. When i push unlock button (one time) looks like nothing happens, screen doesn't woke up. If i press a second time screen woke up for half second showing unlock screen. When it happens, i know that the OS is running because when i push the unlock button(first time), i can make a screen shot pushing up volume and down volume at same time it also reproduce the sound. Looks that the only problem is to wakeup the screen. It began to happen without install any program, just upgrades. When it happened to me I think that I haven't opened any app. ** Tags removed: bot-comment ** Tags added: 15.10 wily -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1459121 Title: Screen doesn't wake up when on minimum brightness To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1459121/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1459613] Re: connecting 2x 4k screens on a Dell XPS12 (9Q33): compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in GLTexture::matrix()
I wouldn't say it's a workaround, after I installed en ran "metacity --replace", I experienced; - the unity task bar was gone, as well as the launchbar - the keyboard wasn't recognized anymore (?) - When I killed the process metacity, the unity desktop didn't return. For troubleshoot purposes (as I saw all three screens), it's usefull I think. But it's not a workaround as it's unusable (at least at the way I used metacity). I will look at the stuff Daniel mentioned (although I don't know what he's talking about), but it will be after the weekeind because we have a big network migration today and the whole weekend. [Bug 1453029] Re: Tried to login, GUI locked up. Did reboot & was presented with several messages : general protection fault: 0000 [#31] SMP
Reading the instructions again: > the latest upstream kernel available from the very top line at the top of the > page So does that mean I should be looking to get http://kernel.ubuntu.com /~kernel-ppa/mainline/drm-intel-next/current/ which seems to be a 4.1 Kernel instead of the 3.16 that is currently on my machine. Hey, now I get a different page off of your original link. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds?action=show&redirect=KernelMainlineBuilds now shows a link to http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel- ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D and at the top of that page is http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.1-rc5-unstable/ I shall follow the instructions for downloading and installing then get back to you with the results. Seems to take a week or two for the problem to surface so it might take a while for me to declare a Kernel good. I suppose it would be quite easy to make it bad though if it fails. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1453029 Title: Tried to login, GUI locked up. [Bug 1414707] Re: Login fails, returns to login and flickering prevents password typing
This issue still persists in Ubuntu Gnome 14.04.2 I could consistently reproduce by installing fresh and then installing steam (and its dependencies). I was not able to restart gdm and login as it just froze in tty7 (the other terminals worked). When doing a hard reset of my computer it would then hang at the grey screen with the gnome logo and the three loading dots . Sorry I missed this: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette "...Instead, if you are the original reporter, ensuring the report has all the requested testing information performed would be the fastest way to ensure your bug is resolved as soon as possible. If you are not the original reporter, it's best to file a new report, so that necessary debugging attachments are reviewed. [Bug 1459685] Re: please merge curl from debian
There is nothing in debian/ which would fill the two udebs (ubuntu delta) with anything -- no *.install files, no code in debian/rules. And indeed libcurl3-udeb and curl-udeb are empty. While this is certainly not the fault of *this* merge, this should be rectified. Please do some research when this got broken. If this situation is already like that for a long time (pre-trusty), then obviously nobody has actually missed these udebs and they should just be removed. Please talk to the installer team about that, in particular https://launchpad.net/~mathieu-tl . If we don't need them any more, please drop the remainders (in debian/control and merge changelog) in that merge. If we still need them, and the empty udebs broke anything, please fish them out of the previous merge which broke this. [Bug 1445195] Re: [Hyper-V] Kernel patches for storvsc
@jrp Could you indicate with which commits did you exactly tested the bug on your side? I understand from jsalisbury that the base for the current kernel is the master-next branch. He applied the patches mentioned in his earlier post to that kernel. Are we missing any other commits? Another issue filed on read-only with Hyper-V also still occurs, see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1439780. After that network stops working. dmesg shows that initially the link is up and stays up: [ 41.806656] r8169 :04:00.0 eth0: link up There are no other networking related messages. Networking starts working again if I disconnect and connect again the cable. After this networking works until computer is shut down. This is reproducible and happens to me every day. There are also other reports on r8169 issues but I didn't find a matching bug report on launchpad. This happens only to this computer on network, so I doubt it's a DHCP or other network misconfiguration issue. http://askubuntu.com/questions/615423/ethernet-connection-randomly- disconnects-after-transmit-queue-0-timed-out http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=177544 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-backports- modules-3.0.0/+bug/839393 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.04 Package: linux-image-3.19.0-18-generic 3.19.0-18.18 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.19.0-18.18-generic 3.19.6 Uname: Linux 3.19.0-18-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 2.17.2-0ubuntu1.1 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC1: vranki 2683 F pulseaudio CurrentDesktop: X-Cinnamon Date: Fri May 29 12:48:08 2015 EcryptfsInUse: Yes HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=71d76087-3fdf-4f57-a0f4-0b128be4d386 InstallationDate: Installed on 2015-02-12 (105 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 14.10 "Utopic Unicorn" - Release amd64 (20141022.1) MachineType: LENOVO 20C600LLMS ProcFB: 0 inteldrmfb ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.19.0-18-generic root=UUID=e114ca99-f1c7-450f-a4a5-553075d92b7c ro quiet splash RelatedPackageVersions: linux-restricted-modules-3.19.0-18-generic N/A linux-backports-modules-3.19.0-18-generic N/A linux-firmware 1.143.1 SourcePackage: linux UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to vivid on 2015-05-12 (16 days ago) dmi.bios.date: 03/04/2015 dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO dmi.bios.version: J9ET98WW (2.18 ) dmi.board.asset.tag: Not Available dmi.board.name: 20C600LLMS dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO dmi.board.version: SDK0E50510 WIN dmi.chassis.asset.tag: No Asset Information dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO dmi.chassis.version: Not Available dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnLENOVO:bvrJ9ET98WW(2.18):bd03/04/2015:svnLENOVO:pn20C600LLMS:pvrThinkPadEdgeE540:rvnLENOVO:rn20C600LLMS:rvrSDK0E50510WIN:cvnLENOVO:ct10:cvrNotAvailable: dmi.product.name: 20C600LLMS dmi.product.version: ThinkPad Edge E540 dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug vivid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1459985 Title: r8169 ethernet stops working after a while To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1459985/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1459983] [NEW] latest version obfuscates data in test scripts
Public bug reported: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ofono/1.12.bzr6896+15.10.20150521-0ubuntu1 changed the behaviour of the test scripts to obfuscate stuff. E. g. /usr/share/ofono/scripts/list-modems now says "LocationAreaCode = XXX" which is entirely useless. These are test scripts, not something which you should ever call from a production program, so why was this change done? This is quite a dramatic change from upstream which makes these scripts incompatible with everything that uses it. It also broke e. g. python-dbusmock's tests which check that the mocked ofono is compatible with what the ofono package expects. ** Affects: ofono (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Tony Espy (awe) Status: New ** Tags: qa-daily-testing ** Changed in: ofono (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Tony Espy (awe) ** Tags added: qa-daily-testing -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1459983 Title: latest version obfuscates data in test scripts To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ofono/+bug/1459983/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1458397] Re: Merge fuse 2.9.3-16 (main) from Debian unstable (main)
I actually wonder why we still need all this Ubuntu delta around making fusermount suid root. The Debian way with using statoverride seems cleaner to me, as you can actually change it locally if you want. This would get us rid of most of the remaining delta, except for adding ulockmgr_server to the udeb. It would be highly appreciated if you could forward that to Debian, or figure out whether we still need that from d-i in the first place -- there is no justification for it in the changelog (any more). If we don't need it, then we can just sync fuse and be done with it :-) Thanks! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1458397 Title: Merge fuse 2.9.3-16 (main) from Debian unstable (main) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fuse/+bug/1458397/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1459985] Re: r8169 ethernet stops working after a while
Ville Ranki, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report. [Bug 1459839] Re: USB soundcard fails on resume
lol24h, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Could you please test the latest upstream kernel available from the very top line at the top of the page (the release names are irrelevant for testing, and please do not test the daily folder) following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. If the test did not allow you to test to the issue (ex. you couldn't boot into the OS) please make a comment in your report about this, and continue to test the next most recent kernel version until you can test to the issue. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon, next to the word Tags, located at the bottom of the report description: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-X.Y-rcZ Where XY and Z are numbers corresponding to the kernel version. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-X.Y-rcZ Please note, an error to install the kernel does not fit the criteria of kernel-bug-exists-upstream. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results.
