[Bug 1246245] Re: proftpd service failed to restart
Seems it's not that simple to do a proper fix, since the same signal() function is used for stop (TERM) and reload (HUP) If you just add --retry to the first call to start-stop-daemon you will break reload, since proftpd will be killed (--retry changes the behaviour, now it's mission is to terminate the process, sending a TERM/KILL schedule until pid file is gone) Looks like the clean approach would be to separate stop and reload and get rid of all the if/then/else dance and cascaded start-stop-daemon calls -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1246245 Title: proftpd service failed to restart To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/proftpd-dfsg/+bug/1246245/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1446072] [NEW] No menu in fullscreen on Gnome 3
Public bug reported: When I connect to a remote computer in fullscreen the menu on the top of the screen does not open any more since I upgraded to Ubuntu 15.04. There is a grey line at the top of the screen indicating the menu when I connect to Windows 2008 R2. When I connect to Windows 8.1 the grey line for the menu disappears completely after a few seconds. It is very annoying not being able to use the menu. The other change is that the fullscreen windows opens on the screen where the remmina is started. In 14.04 I had RDP windows always appear on one screen. Now I have to move remmina window there and then start RDP. Otherwise it starts on a screen I don't want RDP to start. When connecting to Windows 8.1, the cursor is now working great and it changes shapes. Unfortunately I cannot say this for connecting to Windows 2008 R2. The cursor there is surrounded with a black square (64x64 maybe) where previous cursors are drawn. This may have something to do with my graphics drivers because I use two graphics adapters and two drivers for three screens (nouveau and intel) both provided by Ubuntu. I have no proprietary graphics drivers. ** Affects: remmina (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: When I connect to a remote computer in fullscreen the menu on the top of the screen does not open any more since I upgraded to Ubuntu 15.04. - There is a gray line at the top of the screen indicating when I connect - to Windows 2008 R2. [Bug 1333079] Re: Crash on locking screen on closing laptop lid - lightdm
My screen also crashes (weird lines/colors) when I lock the screen. What I know so far is that it is the ATI driver since when using X.org drivers this doesn't happen. Furthermore, it seems is a problem of LightDM because this happens when locking but not when suspending (which doesn't ask me to log in again). I have Xubuntu 14.04. Upgraded to 14.04.2 and still same problem. I don't know how to report the bug since there is no formal crash in the sense that I need to reboot the computer. I can either log out (ctrl+alt+supr) or switch to another session (ctrl+alt+f1) and then go back to x-session (ctrl+alt+f7), which apparently restarts lightdm? [Bug 1445580] Re: Impossible to end a call after switching to airplane mode
This PR fixes the issue on the ofono side: https://github.com/rilmodem/ofono/pull/177 However, there is still some problem in telepathy/dialler even with the patched ofono. Doing: 1. Start call from dialler 2. Set flight mode (call is dropped) 3. Unset flight mode 4. Start a second call from dialler 5. Set flight mode (call is dropped) 6. Unset flight mode 7. I cannot start call from dialler: pressing the dial button does nothing. I have checked that the disconnect events for the previous calls are generated and that I can start a call from the command line (activate- call). ** Changed in: ofono (Ubuntu) Status: New => In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1445580 Title: Impossible to end a call after switching to airplane mode To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1445580/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1446064/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1446099] [NEW] mythbuntu installer crash: Unable to install 'cryptsetup' due to conflicts.
Public bug reported: The mythbuntu 14.04.02 installer crashes while unpacking packages. It has happened exactly the same way twice in a row. I chose my own partitioning system, where I installed mythbuntu onto an existing partition without formatting it. There was already something a bit wierd in the installer because after selecting that the existing partition should be mounted as root, I got a message saying that changes to the partition table were permanent. However there was to be no change to the partition table so I said go back. The second time that I went ahead with the changes I got a warning about the installer wiping out /lib, /etc from the pre-existing partition. This warning seemed more reasonable so I went ahead with that. All seemed to go well until a few minutes later in the package copying phase. The key error in ubiquity seems to be as follows: ubiquity.install_misc.InstallStepError: Unable to install 'cryptsetup' due to conflicts. I will note that in the installer the choice to encrypt my home partition was greyed out and pre-selected. I could not alter this choice during the install. [Bug 1446103] [NEW] upstart vs sysV init script pid-file-name conflict
Public bug reported: Hi, the pid-file-name for upstart is hardcoded in /etc/init/isc-dhcp- server.conf to "/run/dhcp-server/dhcpd.pid" while /etc/init.d/isc-dhcp- server tries to parse "/etc/dhcp/dhcpd.conf" (and fails due to an regex error) for the setting "pid-file-name" and defaults back to "/var/run/dhcpd.pid" (which does not exist if started by upstart). I can report that I'm not seeing this crash on the same laptop with the 3.16.0-4-amd64 kernel and Debian Jessie installed. I'll notify here if it reaapears in Debian, too.
